PU Camerupt (mini)

moo -mz

[OVERVIEW]

Camerupt does possess the elusive Eruption, a unique typing, and decent Special Attack, but its average bulk and poor Speed tier prevent it from being able to attack often, and being hit first leads to Eruption being weakened before it can use the move. Jellicent and Aurorus are far better options for utilizing Choice Specs due to their better Speed and bulk. Camerupt has the most leeway on Trick Room teams to alleviate its awful speed, but being worn down by hazards and lacking resistances to priority makes Eruption, and Camerupt as a whole, inconsistent.

[SET]
name: Choice Specs
move 1: Eruption
move 2: Fire Blast
move 3: Earth Power
move 4: Hidden Power Ice
item: Choice Specs
ability: Solid Rock
nature: Quiet
evs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
ivs: 0 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Choice Specs Camerupt aims to capitalize on the raw power of Eruption and its good offensive STAB combination. Its initial power, unique secondary typing, and low Speed gives Camerupt slightly more merit as a Trick Room wallbreaker when compared to other Fire-types, but Camerupt remains outclassed by easier-to-use special wallbreakers like Drampa and Jellicent.

Camerupt does possess the elusive Eruption, as well as a unique typing, but its average bulk and poor speed tier prevents it from being able to attack often.(mention that it also screws over eruption) Jellicent and Aurorus are far better options for abusing Choice Specs due to their better speed and bulk. Camerupt has the most leeway on Trick Room teams to alleviate its awful speed, but it's too weak to hazards and lacks resistances to priority when considering Eruption to be a consistent choice.

Camerupt does possess the elusive Eruption, as well as a unique typing (its special attack ain't the worst, either.), but its average bulk and poor speed tier prevents it from being able to attack often, and being hit first leads to Eruption being weakened before it can use it. Jellicent and Aurorus are far better options for abusing Choice Specs due to their better speed and bulk. Camerupt has the most leeway on Trick Room teams to alleviate its awful speed, but it's too weak to hazards (nitpick, but it's more that it's vulnerable to being worn down by hazards. being 'weak' to them sort of implies that its typing leaves it weak to rocks or whatever.) and lacks resistances to priority when considering Eruption to be a consistent choice.
