Let's hope this isn't too long...this is my first RMT and I hope it's satisfactory. I read that one should not post too many RMTs and since I love making up teams I decided it would be better to put more than 1 team per RMT and thus, not as many threads needed.
My first team is team based of the letters of my name: - D.E.V.I.Z.E / UU / Double Battles
You may think "Why the hell would he post this? It probably won't have any 'unifying strategy'..." but I think it does and it would be really cool to battle competitively with. XD
So let's get this ball rolling shall we?
Dewgong @ Leftovers
Ability: Hydration
EVs: 252 SpD, 252 HP, 6 Def
Nature: Calm
- Rest
- Protect/Aqua Jet
- Surf
- Ice Beam
I really, really like the idea of using Hydration to wake you up right after you use Rest. So I decided to make this defensively oriented mainly on Special Defense because I want to Baton Pass Vaporeon's Acid Armor and thus, don't need that much Defense. Surf can be used with Vaporeon to heal it and Aqua Jet is there to get the priority to kill those low dudes with little HP remaining (Revenge kill?). Protect is an option to protect from Electrode's Explosion. And Ice Beam because it's STABed.
Electrode @ Damp Rock
Ability: Static
EVs: 252 Spe, 252 SpA, 6 Atk
Nature: Hasty
- Rain Dance
- Thunder
- Explosion
- Taunt
The fastest Rain Dancer...I'm not sure if that's everywhere or just UU but his name starts with 'E' so there you go! :P Pretty much the Smogon Move Set for it but I changed the EVs...put all 252 into Speed because I want to outspeed as much as possible. And Explosion isn't as much of a priority for me because I'd rather use Thunder. :P
Vaporeon @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 SpD, 252 Spe, 6 HP
Nature: Timid
- Baton Pass
- Acid Armor
- Aqua Ring
- Surf
I liked the idea of Baton Passing Acid Armor because it meant on my other pokemon I didn't have to worry about Defense when I could just pass them a double boost to it. Aqua Ring is an added bonus for Dewgong because it can then heal 12.5% (I think...) each turn with Leftovers, also. Surf is there in case they Taunt me or I just want to kill a Camerupt or something. All the focus on speed because I want to Baton Pass as fast as possible without taking hits.
Illumise @ Choice Specs
Ability: Tinted Lens
EVs: 252 SpA, 252 Spe, 6 HP
Nature: Modest
- Bug Buzz
- Hidden Power Ground
- Thunderbolt
- Shadow Ball
This is also pretty much the Smogon Move Set. For 'I', I could chose from Infernape or Illumise and Infernape is OU and would fair poorly in the rain so Illumise it is. It's pretty straight-forward and hopefully it'll kill some unsuspecting trainers...maybe...
Zangoose @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Immunity
EVs: 252 Atk, 216 Spe, 40 HP
Nature: Adamant
- Return
- Close Combat
- Shadow Claw
- Ice Punch
Again, I could choose from Zangoose or Zapdos and Zapdos was OU so Zangoose it is. It isn't so bad because Zangoose looks bad-ass and has good attack. So to implement that amazing attack I have to outspeed the people that can kill me (in one hit probably). So Scarf it is and this is the Smogon Move Set so...yah...
Exeggutor @ Focus Sash
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 HP, 212 Atk, 44 Spe
Nature: Adamant
- Sleep Powder
- Wish
- Explosion
- Wood Hammer
I chose Exeggutor because it can counter Grass, Electric, and Fighting which I think are the 3 main threats against Vaporeon and Dewgong. The Smogon Move Set said Leftovers but I already have 2 Leftovers users so I changed it to Focus Sash so I can always get a Wish off if I need to. Exeggutor is awesome because he CAN Wish people back to health again and help them keep fighting. Then when he is not so useful anymore...I'll Explode them to smithereens.
And there you have the first team. Should I put Rain Dance on someone else to keep it going if I want to switch Dewgong back in? Please reply...this is kind of a team just for fun but I do want to competitively use it in maybe a UU tournament or something...
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My second team is a team of my favorite pokemon that I think balance each other out quite nicely but then again I haven't done THAT much research...just put them into Marriland's Team Builder and found they went really well.
- Favorites / UU (except for Kingdra) / Single Battles
Let's DO IT!!!
Spiritomb @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Defense, 252 SpD, 6 HP
Nature: Modest
- Hypnosis
- Nasty Plot
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power Fighting
I know this isn't the Starter Move Set and I didn't want that cuz people might expect it. So I changed it up and this might work just as well. I really like Spiritomb because there is nothing super effective against it AND it has good defenses...how can you get better than that? I didn't choose a defense or special defense increasing nature because I wasn't sure what I would need more of and I still want to attack so I chose Modest. So I put them to sleep, while they switch out I Nasty Plot and then choose the right move to hurt whatever comes in. Done.
Charizard @ Salac Berry
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 252 Atk, 252 Spe, 6 Def
Nature: Jolly
- Belly Drum
- Substitute
- Earthquake
- Fire Punch
I like Shiny Charizard and I'm going to make sure this one is shiny! This one intrigued me...I don't know why, but I really want to try this out...see if it works :P because if it does I know it'll be fricking AMAZING!
Gardevoir @ Leftovers
Ability: Trace
EVs: 252 HP, 48 SpA, 176 SpD, 32 Spe
Nature: Modest
- Wish
- Will-O-Wisp
- Psychic
- Thunderbolt
This is pretty much derived from the Smogon Move Set because 1.) it seems like a solid set and 2.) I'm running out of time and I need to go to bed. Wish can heal my pokemon if used properly and I chose Thunderbolt over the other options in the Move Set because I don't have anybody else with an electric attack.
Sceptile @ Choice Specs
Ability: Overgrow
EVs: 252 SpA, 252 Spe, 6 HP
Nature: Timid
- Grass Knot/Giga Drain
- Dragon Pulse
- Hidden Power Fire
- Leaf Storm/Frenzy Plant
If Giga Drain could be used effectively I really like the idea behind this one because it gives Sceptile a way to heal itself (somewhat). That's just an idea I had...you can tell me whether or not it's a good one. Timid nature to increase speed because I'm already increasing the Special Attack. And I like Dragon Pulse and HP Fire better than the options from the Move Set...and what would be better Leaf Storm or Frenzy Plant? Can Sceptile learn Frenzy Plant?
Shuckle @ Grip Claw
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP, 252 SpD, 6 Def
Nature: Careful
- Wrap
- Power Trick
- Bug Bite/Earthquake
- Stone Edge/Rock Slide
Shuckle is the by far the best defensive poke in the game and no one can argue with that...in my opinion. XD I like to try different sets on Shuckle instead of the plain-old walling ones or Smogon Move Sets. This is one I just came up with because if you could switch his attack and defense safely...wouldn't he have an insane attack stat? So the trick (haha get it) is to Wrap in a Special Attacking pokemon and keep is there for the 5 turns thanks to the Grip Claw, Power Trick and switch my stats, then attack with my remaining attack moves. My one concern here is healing myself...should I take out an attack and put Rest in? Is this even a good set up? Please help.
Kingdra @ Scope Lens
Ability: Sniper
EVs: 252 HP, 128 Def, 128 SpD
Nature: Modest
- Focus Energy
- Surf/Hydro Pump
- Hidden Power Electric
- Dragon Pulse/Draco Meteor
This is another idea that came to me. If I can try and take out any Dragon threats before sending out Kingdra then the opponent won't have any super-effective attacks to use. Thus I can Focus Energy when they are switching out and I will have 3 increases to my critical hit and I go from there. 2 things: Should I put EVs in HP, Defense, and Special Defense or should I put them in Speed so I can outrun threats like Heracross, Breloom, Mamoswine, Heatran, etc? And Should I go for Surf or Hydro Pump and Dragon Pulse or Draco Meteor...I personally like Surf and Draco Meteor but that's just because I like to play it safe...plus with the critical hit chance...I can take the little bit reduced power of them and it won't make a difference.
And that's that. I don't really have the time to do team weaknesses and threats and such...I might come along later and update that into it. Another thing is bolding the names and coloring the stuff so it's not just black and white and boring after a while.
I just want to ask one thing. Please when you are rating this, give me positive feedback...this took me a long time to do (is almost 2 hours a long time...or am I just slow...?) and I would apreciate it if you took some time to help me with this. Thanks a bunch!
