ORAS OU CANGVRO LEGION (Balanced Team)

INTRODUCTION

hey, i'm a shitposter balanced player and this is my first rmt on smogon.
i started building this team from a core by my fren Big the Cat . His core was an uber core "landot + croceus-fairy" the logic of the core was simple: landot removes every pokemon that croceus struggle to beat, so it can clean up fairly well; the intimidate gives arceus also chances to setup.
i took this uber core into the ou metagame and made clef + landot and then i started building around it.

IN DEPTH

landorus-therian.gif

THERIOUHH (Landorus-Therian) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 8 Atk / 240 Def / 8 SpD
Impish Nature
IVs: 30 Spe
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Knock Off

I chosed defensive Landorus-Therian because of the sinergy with clefable. This mon is one of the best check for burdspam and annoying sweepers such as mega-charizard-x, megagross, diggersby, terrak and more. when i started building the team I gave landorus-t stone edge for burds but then i realized i had heatran for the burdspam and so no necessity of giving him the rock move. The 30 spe evs are for the slow momentum in a situation of 1v1 against other landorus-ts. Stealth Rock is for obvious reason.

clefable.gif

LUSA (Clefable) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 160 Def / 96 SpD
Calm Nature
- Calm Mind
- Moonblast
- Soft-Boiled
- Flamethrower

The classical clefable set with the classical spread. This is the setup sweeper of the team, I love to use this pokemon in balance for his capability to check the stall in general; a kind of playstile that is, the most of the times, in advantage against balance. Flamethrower is for hitting ferrothorn and steels in general. It can also check the "top threat" MegaSableye.

celebi.gif

ARACAMPO (Celebi) @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpD / 4 Spe
Calm Nature
- Leech Seed/Baton Pass/Earth Power
- Recover
- Giga Drain
- Psychic

The core was weak to keldeo, and azumarill so i added Celebi. Celebi is my main check to keldeo, breelom, thundurus, quagsire, azumarill and rotom-w. it's also nice against mega-venusaur. baton pass helps a lot against bisharp, ttar and pursuit metagross; and leech seed is for wear downing threats and gives also a recovery for landorus. earth power can sound weird because I have got Heatran/Keldeo/Landorus/KnockOff + SR DMG for heatran, but it's always fucking annoying, cause in the wrost case I have got only one switchin (deo).

heatran.gif

FRAN17 (Heatran) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Mild Nature
- Lava Plume/Overheat
- Hidden Power [Ice]/Flash cannon
- Earth Power
- Stone Edge

Heatran is my check to himself (not solid enought for being considered as a counter lol). It compensates the speed creep i have in the squad and has a good sinergy with celebi. it's also my check to jirachi, clefable, latistwins, talonflame, celebi, megasaur, amoonguss, scizor and it also can check roost mega-zard-x. I prefer lava plume > overheat for the situational, and lovely, 30% chance (100% in tricking's dictionary) of burn. hp ice is for checking bulkyddnite after rocks, gliscor and dragon types in general; while flash cannon is for better impact on clef.

keldeo-resolute.gif

TRICKING (Keldeo-Resolute) (F lmao) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Scald
- Hidden Power [Electric]
- Secret Sword

Since heatran does not fully compensate the lack of speed of my team i decided to add another scarfer. I added deo for his capability of checking bisharp and revengekilling lots of threats like the nasty landorus-i. hp electric and SS are a must, because my team is almost fully destroyed by gyara and megagyara, timid nature allows him to outspeed ddgyara at +2. Scald is for the situational 30% chance to burn.

scizor-mega.gif

M3L3'S WHORE (Scizor) (F) @ Scizorite
Ability: Technician
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Knock Off
- Roost
- Defog

Last but not least we have my mega. I chosed scizor due to the capability of checking mega lopunny and mega altaria, serving the team with his hazard control. best switchin to megagross and knock off azumarill, it's also a secondary check to bisharp (mostly AV because SD can use scizor as a setup fodder) and for clefable. Knock off helps for wear downing heatran with ease.

hey man nice cores and team. I think your team is slightly weak to stall with clefable being your only way to beat it. To help with stall I would run nasty plot baton pass celebi over your current set as you have 3 good receivers in keldeo, heatran and clefable. Apart from that its a really cool team and weak to very few threats. Good lucK!

Cool team bruh. Heatran is pretty good as a scarfer so I would recommend switching keldeo to specs and hp electric can be replaced by hp flying. As you don't have an answer to Mega Venusaur, it should help.

Hope I helped :)

Hey, pretty good team here.

First thing I see is you have defog on Scizor, which is kind of bad. it /works/, but you don't really want to have to do that because it makes Scizor kind of useless a lot of the time when it could be a lot more effective with more of an offensive set. I would add either Superpower or Swords Dance over defog to make Scizor more effective. Superpower nails Magnezone and Heatran which is awesome, but Swords Dance can really plow through a lot of teams if they don't have a counter to it like Charizard or Magnezone. Also, run some attack! I'll leave a spread below.

So you probably want to keep defog (I mean it's not that important, but meh) so the best mon to use for this is Latios or Latias. Put the twin of your choice over Celebi because the roles translate pretty cleanly except Celebi is a bit bulkier and Latios resists fire. If you are having trouble with Heatran as you cited (especially as you're running Scizor and CM clefable) I might try out earthquake or surf. Defog and draco meteor are indispensable, but you don't need psyshock every day, although I think this team is too bulky to forgo the defensive utility provided by roost. Celebi + Heatran is an awesome core, but Latios + Heatran is nearly as good. You kind of lose the Azumarill check, but Scizor can check AV azumarill, and Latios can still revenge Azumarill (surf might not be so good here though.) Celebi still gets slammed by knock off, so that's far from perfect. Honestly, looking at your team I don't think running 3 attacks + roost is bad at all, because you already have two spike immune mons with this, and clefable is immune to everything. Latios/Latias' speed will also be a lifesaver for revenging a host of things like Landorus-I and Keldeo.

Another thing that kind of bothers me is that you're using scarf heatran. You can use it, but it's honestly a very bad set. However, considering you need a Pinsir check and all that I think it fits here better than it ever does, despite being kind of a bad set. The issue is it can't really check everything that well because it doen't hit all that hard: for instance it can't really shut down clefable when it's bolstering with cm. So here's my thought: perhaps try running scarf landorus-therian because he's faster and generally better (U-Turn is so aweome on scarfers) and outsourcing stealth rock to Heatran. I might give heatran a balloon though because your ground resists are not abundant and this also reduces the need for a defog user as I said before. However, the details of the set are totally up to you. A fire move and Stealth Rock are pretty essential, and other moves to consider include toxic, taunt, flash cannon, earth power, roar, and ancient power.

Now that you have Scarf Landorus-T (great scarfer) and Latios to give your team some speed you can run the much more dangerous specs keldeo over scarf. amazing partner for scizor btw, and really fits into your team because clefable walls latios to hell and back.

The only thing I still see as a big issue for your team is Pinsir-Mega. He is going down in usage these days, but still a really big threat. Pinsir "bird spam" teams will be a tough matchup because they will usually have Magnezone to trap your Scizor. You're probably going to go up against something along the lines of Pinsir/Landorus-T/Keldeo/Latios/Magnezone/Talonflame or something of the sort. Just be careful, I guess the best way to play that matchup is to spam U-Turn with scarf Landorus and try to set up stealth rock, this will force in Latios which gives Clefable free switch ins.

Summary:
  • Use Latios over Celebi for some speed and better Defog support if you want it
  • Scarf Landorus-T is way better than Heatran, use stealth rock Heatran
  • Superpower on Scizor for Magnezone, Bisharp, and Heatran or SD for sweeping power

I would suggest that if you use latios then it's best to run HP fighting. Pursuit trapping is a thing that annoys most people but a predicted Hp fighting takes out the most common trappers while giving you a good move against heatran.

Well if you're relying on Latios to revenge belly drum azumarill, I don't think so. You could try it over surf I guess.

Scarf Landot and SR heatran gives me a lot of trouble with pinsir as you mentioned, and also tauntsdtflame(lol) can bypass this duo.
But i think i'm going to try Latios > Celebi and Superpower/SD > defog.

i like your idea of BP Celebi > Spdef Celebi. It gives momentum and makes a pseudo voltturn with landorus, solving also my bisharp and stall problems.

i think i have more problems with azuma and gyarados, so i'm not going to change the hp.

Good team m8, and thx for the shoutout even thought I did nothing (lol). I might help you whit some modifies, but the team generally works well, but sheet like MVenu is difficoult to handle whit this team.

GJ TeleGOD gave you a good inspiration
