Let's decide on abilities for Chuggalong's pre-evos!

• When submitting abilities, use the format Ability 1/Ability 2/Hidden Ability -> Ability 1/Ability 2/Hidden Ability -> Ability 1/Ability 2/Hidden Ability, representing abilities for CAP 34 pre-evo 1, CAP 34 pre-evo 2, and CAP 34, respectively.
• The final set of abilities must include Armor Tail, White Smoke, and Slow Start in some order.
• Armor Tail/White Smoke/Slow Start -> Armor Tail/White Smoke/Slow Start -> Armor Tail/White Smoke/Slow Start will be automatically slated.

This thread will be closed at the discretion of the CAP moderator team depending on thread activity.

Unless I'm mistaken Chug hasnt had a flavour ability discussion yet, so I don't think we should be restricting abilities to one at this stage. Either way I think Armor Tail doesnt suit Stage 1 and instead suggest Shell Armor. Armor Tail is fine for Stage 2 though.

I'd also like to suggest White Smoke for Stage 1. Flavor-wise, could indicate that the "poison" aspect hasn't really developed yet, so the fumes it lets off are still harmless.

Gonna suggest Shell Armor/White Smoke/Slow Start -> Armor Tail/White Smoke/Slow Start -> Armor Tail/White Smoke/Slow Start

I don't really see any reason why White Smoke or Slow Start really needs to changed for anyone in the line, and Armor Tail still makes perfect sense on Draggalong. Chuggon however, needs something to replace Armor Tail with due to the lack of any sort of visible tai. Shell Armor makes the most sense by far in my opinion, as it keeps the armor motif, is a very common ability for Pokemon based on turtles to get, and just looking at Draggalong, it makes the most sense as to why Chuggon would lose this ability upon evolution.

I also agree that Armor Tail on Chuggon is the obvious thing that needs to be changed, though I think, for the sake of a counterpoint, Weak Armor is another suitable replacement. If we look at existing examples of mons who do have Shell Armor, the vast majority keep the ability - the only exception is Shelmet, whose shell requires a trade and is pretty much stolen. Additionally, by going through current dex entries subs and real world logic, Armor Tail on Chuggalong as described as in segments, so we can make the leap in logic in that Chuggon's Weak Armor is restructured as it evolves into Armor Tail, similar to how Boldore loses Weak Armor for Sand Stream as it evolves into Gigalith.

Last minute suggestion: Sturdy/White Smoke/Slow Start -> Armor Tail/White Smoke/Slow Start -> Armor Tail/White Smoke/Slow Start.

I fully agree that White Smoke and Slow Start have no reason to be changed throughout the evolutionary line, and that Armor Tail works well on Draggalong, but not Chuggon. Sturdy on Chuggon showcases its focus on bulk over offense compared to the rest of the line, and also makes sense thematically considering that quite a few Pokemon with shells (Shuckle, the Pineco line, the Dwebble line, the Tirtouga line) also get Sturdy as an ability.

I support StarFalcon's suggestion of Sturdy/White Smoke/Slow Start -> Armor Tail/White Smoke/Slow Start -> Armor Tail/White Smoke/Slow Start.

No tail=No armor tail. I was also considering Shell Armor, but Sturdy seems more fitting. I don't think it has a weak armor when all of his body is armor.
