Shox's Pokédex entry, for inspiration:

Shox, the EleCow Pokémon

Scarlet: Some rural communities have this Pokémon to thank for meeting their energy needs. Its internal generator gives it quite the appetite, however.

Violet: When danger approaches, Shox form a circle around their young and weak. They then charge their horns all at once to create an electric fence.

Legal Pokedex submissions must meet the following standards
  • Species Names cannot be over 13 characters.
  • Pokedex entries submitted must have flawless grammar. The CAP mod team will make an effort to correct all issues that are unambiguous when the thread is closed, but you should not rely on this.
  • Pokedex Entries cannot be longer than 32 words and cannot be over 156 characters (this includes spaces and punctuation).
  • Pokedex Entries can only contain the following characters:
    • Letters A-Z
    • Numbers 0-9
    • Dash (-)
    • Apostrophe (')
    • Double quote (")
    • Period (.)
    • Exclamation point (!)
    • Comma (,)
    • Colon (:)
    • Semi-colon (;)
    • Space
Work In Progress (WIP) Pokedex Entries can be posted at any time for comments from the community.

No more than three WIP Pokedex Entries can be posted by any individual person through the entire course of the submission thread. This limit applies to ALL posts made by a single person, even if previous posts are edited or deleted. This limit is intended to curb the tendency for some submitters to spam the thread repeatedly with multiple Pokedex Entries. This detracts from other submissions and makes it difficult for commenters to survey the submission thread.

Do not bump your WIP Pokedex Entries by posting them repeatedly, or making minor wording changes. Bumping will result in the disqualification of all Pokedex Entries by the offender. Editing or deleting bump posts will not prevent disqualification.

Only ONE Final Submission can be made per person.

Pokedex entries Final Submissions must posted exactly in the following format and in the following exact order:
  • The first line of the post must have the words "Final Submission" in bold on its own line. No other text may be included before the bold heading.
  • A blank line
  • "<Pokémon Name>, the <Species Name> Pokémon", with the Pokemon name and the Species Name in bold
  • A blank line
  • The Sword Pokedex Entry submission. Start with the letters "Sword" in bold, then a colon (:), and then the Pokedex entry.
  • A blank line
  • The Shield Pokedex Entry submission. Start with the letters "Shield" in bold, then a colon (:), and then the Pokedex entry.
Below the Final Submission you can post other comments, explanations, etc.

Example final submission:

Final Submission

Dragapult
, the Stealth Pokémon

Sword: When it isn't battling, it keeps Dreepy in the holes on its horns. Once a fight starts, it launches the Dreepy like supersonic missiles.

Shield: Apparently the Dreepy inside Dragapult's horns eagerly look forward to being launched out at Mach speeds.

Any Final Submission that does not follow the proper format will be disqualified.

Final Submission

Flox
, the EleCalf Pokémon

Scarlet: Flox were first reared for food. While popular among gourmets for their mouth-numbing flavours, fewer restaurants still serve them due to rising costs.

Violet: This Pokémon is inept at retaining electricity, causing many items to cling onto its wooly coat. Removing said items requires care to avoid getting shocked.

Scarlet dex reflects on the Shox line being based on a breed of beef cattle (the Galloway, according to Amamama, and Flox actually has slightly more basis with this breed in being polled, i.e. without horns, or at least not obvious ones, than Shox, who some may agree is moreso a Highland breed) i.e. cattle that are reared for meat, in a manner similar to :Farfetchd:'s original claim to fame as being very delicious. As Shox's dex entry already focuses on its social behaviour, Flox's should thus now focus on its purpose as livestock, just like fellow bovine :Miltank:.
Some may recall the Create-A-Pokemon chatroom on Showdown roughly a year ago held a poll on "what CAP foods would you order in the newly opened CAP Kitchen (Cook-A-Pokemon)", with baby back Shox ribs reaching third place out of eight after runner up Malaconda Apple Pie and winner Fried Krilowatt. Originally, I had a full on recipe on how to cook Flox that was a reference to Cachopo, a veal dish from the Asturias region of Spain that can also refer to breaded cutlets, but that quickly caused most people to lose their appetite. I've since toned it down and updated on my dex to reflect this change; veal production itself is similarly getting expensive. The specifics of it being mouth-numbing is a reference to what some may recognise as the taste of Sichuan Peppers, which for those that haven't had the pleasure of having Chinese cuisine before, is roughly describable as licking a 50 hertz electric battery.

Violet dex is a lampshade on how much literal static we've given the line, and harkens to :Pichu:'s inability to store electricity as well as nudging towards Sticky Hold.

Flox
, the EleCalf Pokémon

Scarlet: Flox constantly eat in order to increase the voltage of their internal generator. Their fur becomes denser the more electricity they've stockpiled.

Violet: When Flox and Shox cuddle, static electricity builds up. The accumulated charge may leave them stuck together for several hours.

Since Shox is pretty huge compared to Flox, it would only make sense that he eats 24/7 to generate enough power to grow that fast. I'm not sure how that translates to evolution, but the more he eats the greater the potential of his internal generator as Shox. The “sticking together” further pushes the static fuzzball aesthetic the two are meant to be. They should get an Electric type Self-Destruct clone called "Oxpile" that doubles in power if they have the charged effect.

Flox
, the EleCalf Pokémon

Scarlet: Young Flox have a strong habit of rubbing against anything they can find. They do this to store static electricity until they can start producing their own.

Violet: Its hooves are coated in a rubbery substance to prevent accumulated electricity from discharging into the ground. It often licks them to keep them clean.

The Scarlet entry is 156 characters exactly, the Violet one is 153. What can I say, I like more descriptive entries.

Final Submission

Flox,
the EleCalf Pokémon

Scarlet: These Pokémon gather together for safety. If a Flox is too far from any Shox, it will electrify the air around itself, alerting its herd to its location.

Violet: The fur of a Flox can maintain its charge no matter what. Each hair has a separate charge, making them bundle together, causing issues for its trainers.

First entry is obviously referencing cattle's social natures and their preferences to hang in groups, as well as some animals' ability to communicate via electrical currents - although rarer for land mammals, it is still seen.

Second is just a classic Electric type/Static dex entry, with a fun tidbit, considering the fur in all directions, including over the eyes.

Please consider correcting "Shoxes" to "Shox". All Pokemon names are already plural, even in English.

Violet: Despite its size, Flox's electricity is enough to power a city. Other Pokemon know to avoid bodies of water where Flox are known to drink from.

Could you maybe capitalize Flox's species to EleCalf pls? Also the powering a city seems a bit much considering Shox helps power small towns and such.

Did I not? I swear I did wth

Also 2nd one is just a placeholder for now, wanted to put 1st one down somewhere so I didn't forget

WIP
Flox,
the EleCalf Pokémon

Scarlet: This Pokémon is able to fire strong bolts when scared. Not fully able to control them, this often leads to a blackout. Copper wires on fences are strongly unrecommended.

Violet: Its meat is one of the most expensive and tasty in the Pokémon world. However, cooking it is very difficult, because a minimal error can lead to a total burn.

Wanna make references on wagyu and beef cattle, as shox' scarlet entry states it is one.

Flox,
the EleCalf Pokemon

Scarlet: Flox’s outstretched tongues can sense electricity. If lost, these Pokémon can find their way back to the herd by following the energy radiating from Shox.

Violet: The generators of these Pokémon are not fully developed yet. They rub their fur on resting Shox to gather static, learning to circulate this charge as current.

Flox
, the EleCalf Pokémon

Scarlet: This Pokémon is raised for its conductive fur, which makes for a useful material in electrical wiring. Its rubbery hooves insulate the charge.

Violet: The static electricity in its fur can numb the mouth of an attacking predator. It can also cause Flox to get stuck to one another, however!

Flox
, the EleCalf Pokémon

Scarlet: The copper-like conductive bell around its neck creates a sound akin to wind chimes when this Pokémon runs. This sound tends to precede an unwelcome shock.

Violet: While sleeping, Flox clump together into massive piles of charged fur. This formation creates a static hazard for predators and farmers alike.
