Name: Stop the Secondary
Description: A Pokémon that through means of ability, moves, and typing, can stop a variety of the non damaging affect of moves and moves of non damaging origin.

Justification: While the immediate threat of damaging moves is large and present, the affect of moves such as status, Trick, Leech Seed, Taunt, Stealth Rock, Spikes have arguably had a greater affect to the metagame than anything has ever had, something that this would greatly look in to.

Questions to be Answered:
~ How easily would a Pokémon with such large of a niche be able to fit into a competitive team?
~ How large of an impact would the reducation of non damaging affects and moves have on the metagame?
- What, if any, would happen to the types of teams being used?
- How would this affect the usage of these types of moves?
~ How much of an affect does typing have on the ability for ANY Pokémon to perform this duty?

Typing: Dark/Ground
Ability: Auto-Magic Coat
Ability: Guts
Stat Spread: 133/122/72/71/72/95
Name: Colossoil

Allowed Attacking Moves:

Drill Peck, Aqua Tail, Zen Headbutt, Ice Fang, Fire Blast, Thunder Fang, U-turn, Ice Shard, Crunch, Megahorn, Seed Bomb, Earthquake, Pursuit, Fire Fang, Selfdestruct, Stone Edge, Focus Punch, Sucker Punch, Superpower

Allowed Non-Attacking Moves: Taunt, Torment, Rest, Sleep Talk, Rapid Spin, Block, Knock Off, Toxic, Substitute, Moonlight, Heal Bell, Fake Out, Roar, Encore

Right. Create your movepools and discuss them. Similar to the shitstorm that was the name thread, only submit a movepool if you think it's good. Don't throw shit at a proverbial wall.

The moves listed above are the allowed competitive moves you may use for this CAP. Non competitive moves are allowed.

A movepool must be submitted as a final submission for it to be included in the poll. However, this time please note that you may not submit a final submission unless I give you permission to do so. This way we won't have a) super repetitive movepools (lol there are way too many you have no clue) or b) suck super balls.

If you want a guide on how to build a pokemon's movepool, check here.

Have fun, don't make it broken, don't make it a wuss, etc.

Check out CAP's Non-Competitive Moves Discussion for some cool flavor ideas to spice up your movepool! Join the group now to participate in discussions.

Features:
I tried to keep a relitivly small movepool, W/O (many) elemental moves by TM/ Tutor, and limiting Elemental moves with the movepool. The theme is STAB/SecondaryStopper Narwhal. I also included everything I could think of that meshes w/ the concept, and some STAB Moves, a couple "suicide" moves, plus a couple "Flavor" moves. I stand by my inclusion of Block. While one COULD use it to trap a counter/ other, doing this will allow a turn of set-up for the opponent, basicly screwing Collosoil over. The theory being that people will choose the movepool that allows Collosoil to do it's job, w/o being to "overpowered". Also, this set excludes Moonlight, Rest, Sleeptalk, Aqua Tail and U-Turn (amoung others). That will be all.

Side Note: I will edit this post as nesissairy for contrabutions/ edits to my movepool. If you would all be kind enough to look up legal issues and comment that would be great.
Thanks to Mr.Dreaveus for posting all the Banned Moves. I would have looked them up myself @ the fourms, but I am to lazy to. :P. Also thanks to the admiral for the info on egg moves. That also really helped.
Broken Smeargle is broken.

I'm actually going to give this a shot:

Explanations:
No difficult egg moves, due to Smergle. The egg groups make sence as well.
I'm against Moonlight, so it didn't make the list. I feel that Thunder and Ice Fang is redunant, so didn't include them. If CAP9 wants a SE hit on Breloom, it's going to have to go with Drill Peck.
Megahorn I decided against, if only because my movepool was filling up. Might add it in a future version.
Added the Fire moves, however. It's not like Skarmory is going to be OHKO'ed.

For anybody who is curious:
Swords Dance
Bulk Up
Howl/Meditate
Baton Pass
Dragon Dance
Will o Wisp
Yawn
Thunder Wave (and any other forms of paralysis)
Curse
Spore (and any other sleep inducing move)

Recovery moves (excluding moonlight)

As far as I'm concerned, a lot of these are viable as coverage moves, but
since they are with the exception of the Fangs generally separated from
each other, they're all solid.

Unique Features: Stockpile and Swallow, Fake Out, Rapid Spin, and Bite all Level-up, a decently versatile Egg Scheme that doesn't get too outrageous. Rock Blast provides a unique Egg Move that can help it deal with Subbing pokemon decently.

I've kept Ice Fang but removed the other Ice moves. There's plenty of predecent for Ice Fang being the only Ice move on Ground types, see Gliscor and Steelix. Otherwise I've filled out a Water-based movepool with Water Pulse, Muddy Water, and Brine. If you really want some silly "flavor" justifcation, I see Collosoil as a salt-water whale that found a home in the desert and now uses Sandtraps and a special film as a means to get sea salt.

Earthquake is learn in the TM list, and the restictions do not apply to TM-learnt moves.

Deck Knight, why did you say that there was a broken movepool? Were you reffering to mine, or your own? (Which can manage the exact same sets as mine, with Moonlight, which I utterly object to) If you were reffering to mine, suggestions to improve could be helpful.

I was starting my post before you whippersnappers even posted. Had nothing to do with any of you.

I am really impressed with your moveset Deck Knight. Beutiful job. But: how is Collosoil's Egg Group Water? I could understand Dark, or Ground, but water? The only connection to water this CaP has is the fact that it is a narwhal. If it was dropped in water, it would surly drown?

Because even for Nintendo, the Egg Groups aren't exactly what you'd think (though of course for the most part they do--there's just some more out there stuff in there as well, just like with the actual moves themselves). Case in point: Dragonite is like Water 1/Dragon and Drapion is Bug/Water 3. So it's not too much of a worry, especially since CAP9 is a narwhal.

If you look at Bulbapedia, the Egg Groups are classified according to the appearance/flavor traits of each Pokemon in its evolutionary line. Magikarp is Water 2/Dragon because Gyrarados is a dragon-like Pokemon and they are both fish-like, Flygon is Bug because its line resembles insects (Vibrava most closely,) and all Eeveelutions are Ground because they are all mammals and Nintendo almost never changes egg groups. And Dragonite is Water 1/Dragon because its line are all dragons, and its two pre-evolutions both look like amphibious (the qualifier of Water 1, able to be amphibious) snakes.

Anyways, Water 2 is fishlike and Monster is for...monstrous Pokemon.

[B]Fake Out[/B] (PokeWalker)

The idea of this movepool is "large, almost legendary movepool, far more average competitive movepool." I'm also visioning a Magikarp-like pre-evolution with Mud-Slap and Reversal as moves. Really only useful on gimmick flail sets.

BTW, is Muddy Water allowed/should be bolded? I'm guessing it is, as it's a pretty good flavor move and about the strength of A-Tail.

A few coments:
1. You are only allowed 3 HeartScale Moves
2. Only 16 Level Up moves
3. You should keep out the Stones/Pokewalker/Anything Else specific moves because this just adds to confusion. If you look at the previous movepools in CaP, they don't include crazy shit like that.

Summary:

Colossoil is pretty much capable of using a a variety of difference moves in a set. Rapid Spin and Pursuit are both level-up, two important move combinations that Colossoil should have in its moveset. It also has access to Stockpile and Moonlight by level-up, which can be used to some effectiveness. Having the ability to use Ice Shard, Selfdestruct or Sucker Punch in one set thanks to Smeargle can be extremely beneficial for Colossoil, making it a pretty brutal force. It also has many helpful moves found in its tutor moves, most notably Superpower, Encore, and Heal Bell.

[B]Bold[/B] indicates a bona fide viable move.
[I]Italics [/I]means that while they are viable, they fall under the "Hippowdon loophole:" The example for Hippowdon did not regard the fangs as viable moves.

BTW, I find it a tad ridiculous that we can only have 3 viable level-up moves. More than 1 Pokemon has had more. (Hippowdon loophole REVOLVES around this.)

I figured I would add all of these. The only one I didn't want initially was Sucker Punch, but it was added in the end.

Code:
Egg moves (Monster / Water 1)(Who only Feraligatr and Blastoise share, to my knowlage):

Aqua Jet (Golduck, Dewgong, Kabutops, Empoleon, Floatsel, *Azumarril*, *Feraligatr*, *Blastoise*)
*Beat Up* (Charizard, Nidoking)
Ice Shard (Lapras, Dewgong, *Delibird*)
Mud Shot (Poliwrath, Omastar, Kabutops, Quagsire, Swampert, Politoad, *Cloyster*, *Masqurain*, *Garchomp*)
Slam (Lickylicky, Dragonite, Quagsire, Sceptile, *Dewgong*, *Omastar*, *Mantine*, *Tropius*, *Rampardos*)

*Name of attack* means only avalable via chain breeding. *Name of pokemon* means the pokemon only gets it through breeding.

Usable combonations:
Ice Shard + Aqua Jet + Slam (Dewgong)
Aqua Jet + Mud Shot (Kabutops)
Mud Shot + Slam (Omastar, Quagsire)

Only Ice Shard and Aqua Jet are of any real use, outside of a Specs set (why?).

Code:
Pokewalker moves:
Fire Fang
Thunder Fang
Ice Fang (none can be gotton together)

Cool thing about these moves: none can be gotton together, and none can be gotton with egg moves!

@ Fuzznip: iirc, Smeargle is in the Ground Egg group, so there are no illegal combos.
It is. You might want to replace Ground egg group with Mineral, as you still retain most of the combos you have (Like Sucker Punch + Self Destruct, via Golem). I still like yours the best, though!

I think I'll refrain from throwing my hat into the ring this time around. I see a few good movepools already, and anything I add will be shit on a wall. ;)

BTW I find it a tad ridiculous that we can only have 3 viable level-up moves. More than 1 Pokemon has had more. (Hippowdon loophole REVOLVES around this.)

Personally, I think the Fangs should be grouped together as counting as one viable attack, at least on Hippowdon. They will hit less with a SE hit than your STAB will with neutral hit (think Hidden Power).

Even without doing that Hippowdon has 5 possibly viable level-up moves, Crunch, Yawn, and the Fangs. (Earthquake doesn't count because it's a TM.) Crunch is really only used on the Choice Band set but does offer decent coverage so it's viable. Yawn can be used to cause swithes, but Roar is generally better and isn't affacted by Sleep Clause. Ice Fang is certainly viable, simply for OHKOing Salemence and the fact that Ice and Ground offers great type coverage, but Stone Edge will still do more damage to most other Flying-types. The only OU Pokemon that Fire Fang deals more damage to than Earthquake or Ice Fang are Bronzong, Forretress, Heracross, Scizor, and Skarmory and all of them but Bronzong still get hit neutral by Stone Edge. Thuder Fang is only useful against Gyarados, who you'll have to hit on the switch-in and I'm not sure it'll OHKO it after Intimidate.

So really, I'd only count Crunch, Ice Fang, and maybe Fire Fang as viable.

On CAP 9, however, they're probably all viable because it has higher Atk and enough Spe to potentially outrun Salamence, Gyrados, and Scizor and OHKO them with the appropriate attack.

Edit: @ Matman: Fling when used with a choice item has 10 Base Power, BTW. Still no reason not to include it, though.

Everything else is ILLEGAL
So the Big one is that Pursuit+Ice Shard is ILLEGAL. I thought it would be overpowered to be able to beat a pokemon wheter it switches, attacks, or uses secondary moves.

Fun Reasoning Time!

Encore: THE most effective way to punish secondary users. No one wants to be locked in on a SR or T-Wave while Colossoil picks away at you. Encore forces switches like no other move, giving Colossoil time to Rapid Spin, or just pick off the incoming opponent.

Rapid Spin: This move is needed for Colossoil to stand a chance against entry hazards, which are the most annyoing secondary moves.

Crunch: Its STAB... what do you expect?

Fire Moves: These really aren't very good on Colossoil, but if your really having trouble against Tangrowth or Skarmory. Also of note, I don't see any problem withthis having both fire and ice moves. The are both quite specialized anyway.

Surf: Really, REALLY useless. Its a mediocre offensive type, and it comes from bad SpA.

Heal Bell: I see no reason not to include this, as Colossoil already deals with Status well enough. It is a waste of a turn anyway.

Ice Shard: It has a really low BP. A SE Ice Shard is only 5 BP better than a resisted EQ. Why would this be an issue?

Cool Flavour moves:
Dive-Its a fish, and it is often under the surface.
Present-Who knows what Colossoil is hiding in that hole of its.

EDIT: I just relized I left out something. Ironically, it is Moves I left out.

E-Fangs-I was against putting in Thunder Fang which prevents Gyarados from being a solid counter, and I considered Ice Shard to outclass Ice Fang, making it really useless. That only left Fire Fang, which is only a mediocre choice on Colossoil, and including it would likely mean that I would have to leave something like Encore out. Therefore, none of the fangs make an appearance.

Megahorn/Drill Peck-I like Tangrowth as a solid check for physical variants (most likely all of them), and these two don't support that. ALos, similary to FFang, these would take up a spot that could be better used. Overall, both these moves were extreneous, and I decided against them.

Selfdestruct- Considering his high attack and ability to kill most ghost types with ease, I thoought this would be overpowered. Not to mention there would be little more annoying than finally getting the Guts variant down to 10% HP and having it outspeed and go boom.

Moonlight-If you plan on using Colossoil in SS, this is useless. If you are outside of SS, this could be overpowering. I didn't vote for it, so I didn't include him.

Fake Out-I really wanted to include this... but I had no room. (;_;)
