CAP Buff 5 - Part 1 - Buff Leader Signups

This is the thread for people to announce their desire to become the Buff Leader (BL) for this Buff Cycle. Do not suggest other users. The Buff Leader position requires the utmost dedication and a substantial amount of free time, meaning that only those who have carefully considered the magnitude of their application will apply at all. If you are not prepared to fulfill all of the responsibilities to the very end, then do not throw your hat into the ring. The buffing process is expected to last roughly two weeks after its initialization.

We are looking to fill the following position to help us lead this Buff Cycle:

• Buff Leader: In the public's eyes, this is the leader of the project. The Buff Leader's responsibility is to lead discussion about the CAP's current role, scope for buffs, and to create the slate of Buff Packages. The Goal of the Buff Leader is "quality control" rather than "project control", and their focus should be synthesizing community consensus.

Buff Leaders should have the following qualifications:

• Deep knowledge of the game of Pokemon
• Familiarity with competitive Pokemon concepts, strategy and philosophy, as practiced within Smogon
• Willing to voice opinions and lead others
• Open-minded to new ideas
• Creative, "outside-of-the-box" thinker
• Good writing skills
• Level-headed when resolving disputes
• Liked and respected by the CAP community

Once this buff starts, the Buff Leader will be among the most important, most visible members of the CAP community, and they are expected to be a strong guiding force throughout the buffing process. If you are selected for any of these positions, you will have a great deal of power to influence the project. But you also have a responsibility to stay on top of things. You will have forum moderators to help you, but you need to be regularly active on the project until it is complete. All potential candidates should look through both the Topic Leadership Guide and the CAP Process Archive, to get an idea of what will be expected of you, if you are selected to be the Buff Leader.

This thread is strictly for candidacy posts and posts supporting those candidates. Please stay on topic. Below are the guidelines for posting in this thread:

• Candidates will benefit from highlighting their active involvement throughout the duration of a recent CAP project. Involvement in multiple CAP projects is strongly preferred.
• Do not suggest other people. If you want you encourage someone else to run, then send them a PM or talk to them on the PS! CAP chatroom or the CAP Discord channel.
• If you are new to the CAP project, do not sign up in this thread. Instead, spend a project or two lurking, learning, and participating first.
• Include a summary of your involvement in the CAP project.
• Make a pitch for why you should be selected. If you can't present and defend yourself, then you can't expect to lead a project whose primary function is discussion and debate. Convince us that you are a good choice.
• Even if you don't think you are better qualified than certain other candidates, you still should consider posting your application. Candidates not selected as Buff Leader for this project will be on the watch list by the PRC for next time around. Don't post your name if you don't intend to be active in the project, even if you are not selected, since people will be scrutinizing your involvement more closely.
• Feel free to post support for any candidates already named.
• Do not post disparaging remarks about any candidates.

If these rules are not followed, the offending user will be subject to moderation.

Hi there fellow CAP enthusiasts! Y'know what I am here to do, but figured I'd introduce myself! I am kenn, Ability Leader for Cresceidon's and Chuggalong's processes, and I would love to lead this buff process for multiple reasons. I have plans to apply for TL for CAP 35 and would love to do this as a trial run to not only show to you guys that I am capable but to show myself as well. I wanna make sure that everyone has a voice when it comes to discussing what buffs we will be applying to Kitsunoh, Volkraken, or Kerfluffle.

A little of my personal history with CAP beyond just being the Ability Leader for Cresceidon and Chuggalong includes being the leader for both FlashCAPs that have been done this gen (plus more to come on that front hopefully soon) and also being heavily involved in not just the PS! room (where I am @) but also the processes themselves by submitting stat spreads (made the slate for Hemogoblin and got 2nd in Cresceidon's) and giving my opinion on all the competitive steps of a CAP's process.

Further accolades include running Tour Nights in the CAP room which gives plenty of opportunities for everyone, new and old, to come and showcase their skills in DPP CAP all the way up to current gen, SV, CAP.

A little short and sweet but I really hope you consider me for Buff Leader and I won't let you down! <3

I am Samirsin, CAP room mod, CAP lore enthusiast, enCAPlopedia reader, and Ababo lover. I am applying for Buff Leader as I want to show you guys that I am capable of leading a process professionally. I enjoy flavor stages the most, but competitive ones are not left behind!

Choosing me as Buff Leader means selecting someone who is passionate, knowledgeable, and ready to steer the project with a focus on quality control. My vision for this Buff Cycle is to foster a collaborative environment where all voices are heard, and the best ideas are synthesized into effective Buff Packages. Hello everyone.

I am Brambane Aloysius Zanderghast the Third, contributor to the CAP process intermittently since the days of Colossoil.

As buff leader, I will prioritize a process that uses informed game knowledge of competitive Pokemon and familiarity with the CAP metagame to rebalance Kitsunoh to noteworthy viability. This process will first identify Kitsunoh's individual merits, what limitations it has that prevent it from establishing a meaningful presence in the format, and how we can draw from successful Pokemon in the format to pursue the best path forward for Buff Packages.

I have been an active participant for several process cycles now and feel confident in discussing policy and facilitating a meaningful discussion for this process. Additionally, I have comanaged and participated in several CAP team tours and have personally witnessed Sing Belly Drum Blunder Policy Clefable, so I have engaged in the best and the worst of the CAP competitive community.

I hope you consider me for leading this process.
