Privatyke, the Cabin Boy Pokémon

Diamond: PRIVATYKE yearn to evolve into ARGHONAUT. They complete orders accurately in a timely fashion, and they do hard labor to receive recognition.

Pearl: One can always find PRIVATYKE surrounding a battle of ARGHONAUT. Each crew of PRIVATYKE stands at attention in hopes to learn.

Platinum: PRIVATYKE value loyalty but follow power. If an ARGHONAUT loses a battle with another, the PRIVATYKE of the losing captain join the other crew.

Hey I wanted to make a post about Privatyke in CAP LC! Yay! I'm gonna write this in a sort of analysis style, so lets jump in!

Overview
Privatyke is actually pretty promising in CAP LC, due to its cool typing, high Attack stat, and great movepool. It has two very nice abilities, the former (Unaware) makes it potentially one of the best Bulk Up users, setting up against Timburr, Shellder, and even Scraggy. It can also use Unaware to be a perfect stop to sweepers that aren't Flying- or Grass-type, namely Shellder, Scraggy, Corphish, and most importantly, Zigzagoon, a Pokemon that otherwise lacks a fully reliable check. The latter (Technician) boosts some of Privatyke's important moves, Aqua Jet and Mach Punch being important ones. Its movepool also has many ways to break past checks, Gunk Shot, Thunder Punch, Ice Punch, and (very importantly) Knock Off. However, Privatyke has some downsides, chief among them its huge weakness to Flying-types. Vullaby is insane right now, and having your last minute sweeper stop be weak to one of the most ones is an issue. It also is somewhat outclassed by Timburr, but eventually I could honestly see Priva surpassing it. Finally, it's Speed is a bit subpar, leaving it open to faster Pokemon.

This is the set I'll probably start running Privatyke with, so let me just explain it quickly. So basically, this is kinda like a less powerful Timburr, but with many advantages. Its main advantages are an actually good dual STAB, its ability, and its better base stats (although Timubrr does have more attack and HP). Please notice how every move has slashes, as Privatyke has a wonderfully expansive movepool. Knock Off cripples foes and is amazing in Little Cup. Waterfall is Water-type STAB and that's it. Drain Punch can heal off damage very well and is great for Fighting-type STAB. Mach Punch and Aqua Jet are both powerful priority attacks, but I prefer Aqua Jet as it pairs well with Drain Punch. Bulk Up lets Privatyke set-up, especially against opposing set up sweepers, and it actually makes a pretty good cleaner. Earthquake lets Privatyke break Croagunk and Snugglow. Ice Punch hits Grass- and Flying-types, while Gunk Shot hits Fairies very hard. Its stats give it Eviolite numbers, as well as benchmark 14 Speed and a lot of Attack, although a Jolly nature may be used to outspeed things like Chinchou.

Other Options
I can see Priva using a Scarf or Max Attack set, but I'm still not sure. Not much to put here so I'll just leave it at that.

Checks and Counters
Despite its advantages, Privatyke has many checks. Flying-types obviously can easily beat it, Vullaby being a particular issue. Abra can break though it as well, but it hates having sash broken, especially by STAB Aqua Jet. Fairy-types are horrible to deal with if not using Gunk Shot, although it can break through them easier than Timburr who struggles due to its mono-Fighting typing. Privatyke's 2 best checks are Croagunk and Snugglow, but access to Earthquake allows it break through them if it foregoes Bulk Up or another coverage move. Mareanie is another great Privatyke check hit hard by Earthquake, but it has much better bulk and has access to Haze. Frillish, Pumpkaboo, and Slowpoke are hard to deal with without Knock Off, due to their typings and immense bulk.
