Howdy Smogon, this is my first post and first RMT here, but don't think that I'm new to competitive Pokemon. I was hugely active at TeamUber forums though almost all of Gen 4 (shouldn't violate the advertising rule since TeamUber no longer exists), and was known there as one of the most unorthodox battlers as well as one of the most successful. Anyways, I went on a bit of a hiatus after Black and White were released, feeling too lazy to adjust to a new metagame. I'm back now though and I'm excited to be here ^_^
So Ubers has always been my favorite tier, I'm really not sure why, but I've just always had the most success there and I find it to be outrageous fun. I've messed around in OU and UU some so far, but I decided the first tier I'd really reacquaint myself with was Ubers. This team is the first team I've built since my return, and I'd appreciate some help with it. I named it after the beautiful and majestic lead singer and songwriter of The Dear Hunter, specifically his beard. I can't get Youtube tags to work so you're gonna have to follow a link if you want to listen to him while you read this RMT:

This team's current peak is 31 on the Smogon Ubers ladder.
TEAM AT A GLANCE:
I'm not going to write any more than I have to just to seem more thorough. However, I've written a brief Team Building section for you to see the general thought process that went into this team if it'll help you rate it.
I've always been in the habit of using Kyogre on every Ubers team that didn't directly suffer from the presence of rain. I served me so well in DPP that even before I knew what kind of team I wanted, I knew I was going to use Kyogre. After some thought I decided on Specsogre; who doesn't love a nice tactical nuke?
What? I can use Arceus and he doesn't have to have 100/100/100/100/100/100 IVs? <3333 Anyways Arceus is another pokemon that I expect to see on every Ubers team, he's just so powerful and so versatile it's truly amazing. Since Kyogre is an absolute monster special attacker so I wanted a really strong physical threat. I thought that a Swords Dance Water Arceus would work perfectly, smiling to myself as I imagined the destruction a +2 Waterfall would cause in the rain ;)
I knew I wanted the team to be centered around Specsogre and SD Water Arceus so Stealth Rock was a must to secure KOs and to punish my opponent for switching around to sponge attacks. Specsogre also really appreciates TWave support, so I decided on a SR/TWave lead. Dialga fit the bill perfectly, also filling to roll of phazer and checking tons of pesky boosting sweepers.
Stealth Rock simply wasn't going to cut it for entry hazards, I needed to be as sure as possible that my sweep would be successful before risking the death of my sweepers . I was also interested in trying some BW Pokemon so I decided to use Ferrothorn. He gave me an all important dragon resist as well as Spikes and Leech Seed support.
With Stealth Rock and now a Spikes user, the next thought that came into my head was that I needed a spin blocker. I already had Water Arceus, so my only real choice was Giratina. I thought about using Giratina as a wall, but I didn't think it would do much to facilitate an Arceus sweep further than what was already being done. I elected to use Giratina-O, a phenomenal mixed attacker and wall breaker, who also nicely covers my weaknesses to Fighting, Ground, Fire, and Electric.
At this point I thought I had a really solid squad, but I didn't know what to add in the 6th slot. I thought I could really use a way to create openings for Kyogre and Arceus to come in, and I had some nice priority but no true revenge killer. I also thought I could use someone else to sponge attacks, and possibly some way to alleviate status should my sweepers receive an unfortunate TWave of WoW. Blissey came to mind, but I wasn't very fond of adding another Fighting weakness, and it really didn't do much for me offensively. I ended up deciding on Wobbuffet, who's still an Uber in my heart <3. He would help me absorb attacks and when paired with Kyogre would from an incredible wall breaking combo.
Dialga @ Lum Berry
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 56 SAtk / 200 SDef
Quiet Nature (+SAtk, -Spd)
- Stealth Rock
- Thunder Wave
- Fire Blast
- Dragon Tail
I've been using Thunder Wave leads in Ubers since god knows when, they just work so well. This is a fairly standard Specially Defensive Dialga adjusted to fit my team's needs. Stealth Rock is hugely important in securing KOs for my offensive Pokemon, while Thunder Wave cripples Darkrai and other fast/offensive leads. If I am matched up with a lead who runs Taunt I start with Dragon Tail, breaking their sash and either preventing them from setting up rocks if they Taunt me, or preventing them from setting up hazards if they do Taunt me. Fire Blast nails Forretress and Ferrothorn, while also dealing decent damage to Grouden. Dialga checks a lot of setup sweepers and provides my team with an excellent pivot point.
Ferrothorn (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 48 Def / 208 SDef
Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd)
- Explosion
- Spikes
- Power Whip
- Leech Seed
One of those newfangled 5th generation mons, Ferrothorn serves as my only Dragon resistance. The EVs and moveset is fairly standard, but I incorporated Explosion for a couple of reasons. First off, while I do have Shadow Sneak and Extremespeed for revenge killing, they rarely do the job unless the Pokemon is either very frail or highly damaged. Second, once I've set up Spikes and stopped my opponent's stronger sweepers, Ferrothorn's only real use is Leech Seed support and as fodder to switch into attacks that no one else wants to take. Explosion is the perfect solution, it weakens potential threats so that I can finish them off, and it also gives someone else a free switch-in. His defensive synergy with Dialga leaves much to be desired, but he generally switches into attacks meant for my other Pokemon anyways.
Giratina-O @ Griseous Orb
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 248 Atk / 252 SAtk / 8 Spd
Lonely Nature (+Atk, -Def)
- Draco Meteor
- Shadow Sneak
- Dragon Tail
- Earthquake
Giratina-O is definitely the most versatile Pokemon on this team. He blocks rapid spin, is an amazing check to Mewtwo, he can phaze to remove boosts and rack up Spikes/SR damage, and he can break through several popular defensive threats with his extremely powerful Draco Meteor as well as his mixture of physical moves. He's my primary answer to defensive Giratina, as well as to Excadrill. This team tends to have trouble with a well built sand offence team, so I decided to take Earthquake over HP Fire to help kill -Rock and -Steel types. Fire offence teams are less troublesome, but if I do run into trouble with Blaziken or another Sun sweeper, Giratina-O will come out on top more often than not with either EQ + Shadow Sneak or with Dragon Tail.
Wobbuffet (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Shadow Tag
EVs: 28 HP / 252 Def / 228 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Encore
- Mirror Coat
- Counter
- Safeguard
Wobbuffet has always been one of my favorite Ubers. I had a lot of trouble deciding between this moveset and a faster one, but I eventually decided that my team had enough wall breaking ability that bulk was more important. Wobbuffet is generally my first switch-in to most walls especially those who I suspect are running a status inducing move. Most of the time I use Wobbeffet to give Kyogre a free switch-in so I can fire off a Water Spout, but his usefulness extends far beyond that. Wobbuffet is primarily known for his ability to Counter/Mirror Coat, and very often I find myself relying on him to revenge kill my opponent's offensive Pokemon, especially choice users.
Kyogre @ Choice Specs
Trait: Drizzle
EVs: 244 HP / 252 SAtk / 12 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Water Spout
- Surf
- Thunder
- Ice Beam
Ye Olde SpecsOgre. Nothing new here, everyone's familiar with the sheer power behind a full HP Water Spout, and Wobbuffet helps ensure that I'll always get at least one of those off. One may not seem too significant, but just one Water Spout will often result in a KO, even if the opponent switches a wall in. Kyogre is also integral for this team in that it sets up rain for Water Arceus to sweep in. I rarely find myself using Kyogre's non-STAB moves because Water Spout and Surf are just so powerful that I don't even bother playing the prediction game. If my opponent switches something in that can take the hit and that Pokemon is still healthy enough to take the hit without worries, I'll get into predicting with Thunder and Ice Beam.
Arceus-Water @ Splash Plate
Trait: Multitype
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Waterfall
- ExtremeSpeed
- Dragon Claw
- Swords Dance
Behold Arceus' aquatic form, this guy can sweep through almost any team under rain. Between the +2 boost from Swords Dance, the boost in power from rain, STAB, and the 20% boost from Splash Plate, Waterfall absolutely destroys. Few Pokemon that don't resist it avoid a OHKO, and the only Pokemon who can avoid a 2HKO are Palkia and defensive Giratina. Both are easily OHKO'd by Dragon Claw, but if Palkia is carrying a scarf it can generally be killed by a +2 Extremespeed if it switches into Waterfall with Stealth Rock and at least one layer of Spikes or if it has fallen below 60% by any other means. Thanks to Paralysis support for Dialga, Extremespeed is almost never necessary, and when it is the target is generally weak enough from entry hazards that it will KO. Arceus' bulk only adds to how awesome it is as a sweeper, it is almost never 3HKO'd by any Rayquaza's Extremespeed (not that Rayquaza will survive long enough to hit more than once). Definitely the MVP of the team, I'm absolutely in love with this set.
So there's my team! Any and all rates/critiques/criticisms are much appreciated!
EDIT:
Here's the importable version of the team if you feel like messing around with it:
