ORAS UU CB Snorlax + M.Beedrill Team

Hello everyone, first of all, I'd like to say that I'm to this team building process and I would really like some advices and help to build around this fat mon that I like so, so much.

Introduction:
So, as I mantioned on the topic, I tried (poorly) to build a team around CB snorlax and mega beedrill and here are the sets:
143.png

Snorlax @ Choice Band
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Return
- Facade
- Earthquake
- Pursuit

As you guys know, this set is there for wallbreaking trough teams. The powerfull return just makes it a real threat. Facade negates those status and just powers up his power. Earthquake gives Snorlax the ability to hit opposing Steel- or Rock-types, such as Doublade, non-Shuca Berry Cobalion, and Tyrantrum, that may switch in on a predicted Normal-type attack. Pursuit gives Snorlax the ability to trap frail Psychic- and Ghost-types incapable of beating it one-on-one, helping the beedrill on the long run.

latest

Beedrill-Mega @ Beedrillite
Ability: Sniper
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Protect
- U-turn
- Poison Jab
- Drill Run
Mega beedrill is such a good pokemon to clean up. It is fast, it is powerfull, and hit like a truck. Protect to get the mega off and scout out for a choiced mon. U-turn in combination of the adaptability hit har and provides momentum. Poison Jab is Beedrill's strongest attack, as well as its main Poison-type STAB attack. Drill Run is mainly used for coverage, as it hits Poison- and Steel-types that resist Beedrill's STAB attacks, such as Tentacruel, Nidoking, Nidoqueen, and Lucario, for super effective damage.

376.png

Metagross @ Shuca Berry
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 200 HP / 252 Atk / 56 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Meteor Mash
- Bullet Punch
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
Next we have metagross, a realy good rock setter and my mamo check. Enough speed for neutral max speed conk, and the rest of the EV's is put into the HP for batter taking hits. Meteor Mash is Metagross's main STAB attack, giving it decent neutral coverage against a large amount of the tier as well as hitting Rock-types like Mega Aerodactyl and Fairy-types like Florges for super effective damage, helping mega beedrill to fly like a butterfree, and hit like a bee(drill). BP is for chip damage and also a priority hitting attack. Earthquake hits Steel-types such as Empoleon for decent damage and provides good coverage alongside Meteor Mash.

635.png

Hydreigon @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Dark Pulse
- Draco Meteor
- Fire Blast
- Roost
Now, this was a though choice between hydreigon and flygon, as flygon would've provided defog for the team and also a STAB earth power for those steel stypes, but I decided to go on with hydreigon because with metagross and M beedrill pressuring those fairyes, hydreigon could run freely and smash with the draco + drak pulse spam.
700.png

Sylveon @ Leftovers
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 252 HP / 120 Def / 136 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hyper Voice
- Wish
- Protect
- Heal Bell
For this 5°th slot I've opted for the sylveon, wich provides heal bell suport for the metagross/beedrill and also making the steel-dragon-fairy core even harder to beat. EV'd to outspeed neutral max speed conk (wich is a real threat for this team).
245.png

Suicune @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Roar
- Scald
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
The final pokemon is going to be the vary famous suicune. I've decided to go on with this set as it phazes out mons that may want to set up on me.
Final considerations:
I'd really like if someone could help me out with this team, as I really want to try out CB snorlax + beedrill. I think this core is really good and I would love to see somebody trying out this team on the ladder. Thanx guys :]

Snorlax @ Choice Band
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Return
- Facade
- Earthquake
- Pursuit

Beedrill-Mega @ Beedrillite
Ability: Sniper
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Protect
- U-turn
- Poison Jab
- Drill Run

Metagross @ Shuca Berry
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 196 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def / 56 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Meteor Mash
- Bullet Punch
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock

Hydreigon @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Dark Pulse
- Draco Meteor
- Fire Blast
- Roost

Sylveon @ Leftovers
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 252 HP / 120 Def / 136 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hyper Voice
- Wish
- Protect
- Heal Bell

Suicune @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Roar
- Scald
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

Hey Mad_Rat ! This is quite a solid team, if I must say. I tested it out a bit, and was able to climb roughly 100 points up the ladder within the first half hour. This team is pretty good, solid build! Choice Banded Facade rips through teams, as little opposing teams have a Pokemon that can handle it. I did run into some problems though, and I hope to address them here. Lets dive into your team.

Choice Banded Snorlax is a beast. Period. Thats it. If I did have any qualms about it (and I have one), it would be to put more EVs into HP. The Maximum Special Defense investment was handy, but investment in HP would be allow Snorlax to overall take hits better. Check out the recommended spread below.

Mega Beedill is probably one of the strongest but most underrated Mega Evolutions out there. With fantastic Attack and Speed, plus Adaptability, Mega Beedrill hits hard. Nothing I would change EV spread or set wise, all good there.

Metagross is one of the few Pokemon on your team that I would change around a bit. I found the Shuca Berry to be useful, albeit situational. One of the things the team struggled with was Knock-Offs from strong physical attackers like Conkeldurr and Scarfed Krookodile. I would suggest changing Shucha Berry for Colbur Berry on Metagross. This provides a safe switch in to Knock Off's, as no Pokemon of yours appreciate their item being removed (especially Sylveon). I would also change around your EV spread to fit in Max HP investment, with the same reasoning behind Snorlax.

Hydreigon works wonders for your team, and is one of the Pokemon I wouldn't change anything about (except maybe the random 4 Atk EVs...).

Sylveon is a great Pokemon on your team, and your team really benefits from the Wish and Heal Bell support. Heal Bell can be a double-edged sword, getting rid of Snorlax's status, reducing the power of Facade. Hyper Voice is an easily spammed move, and support's the Beedrill late-game cleanup. I would change Sylveon's set to be more physically defensive though. Not too many Jolly, Max Speed Conkeldurrs running around.

Suicune is the only Pokemon I would change completely. It didn't really seem to do anything for the team. I would suggest Mandibuzz over Suicune. Mandibuzz is able to wall more threats (which I'll list in a bit) and provides well-needed Defog support for Beedril.

I know that this is a very short and text-light RMT, but thats because this team is very good without any suggestions :) Check out the sets I recommend below, and have fun traveling up the UU ladder, which I'm sure you will do :)

This is a list of threats I found while battling with your team :)

  • Toxicroak
  • Conkeldurr
  • Mega Ampharos can be tricky to handle
  • Lucario
  • Noivern can deal loads of damage to most Pokemon
  • Mega Sharpedo can late-game clean
  • Scarfed Nidoking/Nidoqueen can cause the team a headache

Firs of all, thank you Millionsunz for replying and trying out my team :]
Second, I do reconize that many fighting types runs trough this team, but I just have some questions (I'm a new guy) to make:
I know that scarfed krook or knock off users in general, can be pretty anoying, but the metagross without shuca, would'nt it make the team more "weak" to Mega Aero?
Just saw that i messed up with the hydreigon set, just fixing it.
And I'll try out the mandibuzz suport for the team tho, as it get read of hazards and also pressures mons that may want to set up.
I am deffinatly trying it out, and really, really thank you for the support! :]

Metagross is able to handle Mega Aerodactyl by itself, you'll just need to find a creative way to switch it in without taking any Earthquake damage. Earthquake is pretty much a 2HKO on Metagross, but Meteor Mash OHKOs and Bullet Punch 2HKOs. It may be hard to stop, but even with a check/counter it's hard. Metagross is meant to be a "soft" check to Mega Aerodactyl, being able to possibly escape 2HKO and OHKO back, but you're better off getting the Bullet Punch damage off twice.

252 Atk Mega Aerodactyl Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Metagross: 180-212 (49.4 - 58.2%) -- 98.8% chance to 2HKO

252+ Atk Metagross Meteor Mash vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Mega Aerodactyl: 380-450 (126.2 - 149.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ Atk Metagross Bullet Punch vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Mega Aerodactyl: 170-204 (56.4 - 67.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Hey there! I think this is a pretty cool team, and CB Snorlax is a neat threat that many teams are often unprepared for. Though, there's a few changes I think you could make to increase the team's efficiency.

  • The first change I would suggest is to replace Suicune with Swampert. Your team currently lacks an electric immunity and is quite vulnerable to Toxicroak. The addition of Swampert significantly helps with both of these issues, as it gives you a Ground-type as well as a counter to Toxicroak. Swampert lets your team remain with a bulky Water-type and a phazer, while also making the team a bit less passive. With WishProtect Sylveon on the team, you'll be able to keep Swampert healthy, mitigating the loss of Rest. Here's the set:

swampert.gif

Swampert @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Relaxed Nature
- Scald
- Earthquake
- Roar
- Stealth Rock

  • Since your team gains a new Stealth Rock setter with the addition of Swampert, you now have the option to mess around with Metagross' teamslot. I suggest replacing Metagross with Specially Defensive Forretress. There are several reasons behind this change. First and foremost, you currently have no hazard removal on a team that isn't heavily offensive. This issue is even bigger after you consider the fact that your team uses Mega Beedrill, and therefore is bound to pivot around often. Speaking of which, opposing Mega Beedrill is also a pretty big threat to the team and will force you to pivot around even more. Not only does Forretress give your team the hazard removal that it needs, it also gives you a switch-in to opposing Mega Beedrill. Forretress also lets your team retain a switch-in to Sylveon (Heavy Slam is used over Gyro Ball in order to hit Sylveon really hard). Additionally, Forretress forms a Volturn core with Mega Beedrill, while also improving your team's matchup against Celebi by letting you Volt Switch safely into Mega Beedrill. Lastly, Forretress offers your team a Spike setter, making the switches that Mega Beedrill forces much more rewarding. Here's the set:

forretress.gif

Forretress @ Leftovers
Ability: Overcoat
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Spikes
- Rapid Spin
- Volt Switch
- Gyro Ball

  • I also think that Choice Scarfed Hydreigon would do a lot more good for your team. It gives the team a well-needed boost in speed, and in turn helps it against certain threats; a big one being Cobalion. Scarf Hydreigon also offers your team yet another addition to the Volturn core, which is always a plus. Here's the set:

hydreigon.gif

Hydreigon @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Dark Pulse
- Draco Meteor
- U-turn
- Fire Blast

  • I recommend running an Adamant nature on Mega Beedrill in order to enhance its wallbreaking capabilities. You don't miss out on outspeeding too many things. You have Hydreigon and Snorlax to deal with Scarfed Chandelure, and are also able to handle Crobat and Mega Sceptile between Sylveon and Forretress.

  • Lastly, I think that the speed investment you're running on Sylveon is unnecessary. You lose out on a lot of bulk and would be much better off simply investing those EVs into Defense.

Other Options:
  • In the case that CB Lax + Mega Beedrill + Spikes aren't enough against Suicune, you could also consider replacing Hydreigon with Heliolisk. This gives you a solid answer to bulky Water-types, while still helping with threats such as the aforementioned Cobalion and forming a Volturn core. Here's the set:

heliolisk.gif

Heliolisk @ Choice Specs
Ability: Dry Skin
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Volt Switch
- Thunderbolt
- Hyper Voice
- Grass Knot / Surf

I hope this helped, and good luck with the team!

First of all, thanx for replying my post! And I really apreciated the coment, and the suggestions, I'll be definatly trying those out, but the only thing that I'm conserned about is the hydreigon set, as the choice scarf set makes it a little bit more passive, as it laks power.
