Team Options
========
Celebi can be used on both offensive and stall teams thanks to it enabling both longterm offensive pressure and longterm defensive healing for its teammates. Pokemon that hate getting statused such as Lugia, Ho Oh, and Mewtwo make particularly good partners for Celebi, as well as those who want to have their Rest turns cut short, such as Snorlax. Vaporeon, and Tyranitar also greatly appreciate its support.

Other Options
=============
Hidden Power Grass can be dropped in favour of Psychic or Hidden Power Fire to cover different matchups Celebi otherwise struggles into, with Psychic hitting Poison-types hard and Hidden Power Fire doing heavy damage to Steel-types. However, this is not recommended as dropping Hidden Power Grass leaves Celebi completely helpless into Tyranitar. Perish Song can prevent foes such as Jolteon and Snorlax from setting up, it can also be used as a win condition when the opponent only has one Pokemon left. Defense Curl can allow Celebi to stall out Curse Snorlax, it can also be used alongside Baton Pass to pass the Defense boosts to a teammate, such as Mewtwo or Zapdos. Curse can also be used alongside Baton Pass to pass Attack boosts to strong teammates.
Checks and Counters
===================
**Houndoom**: Houndoom switches into Celebi with ease—taking barely any damage from its attacks—and hits it incredibly hard with Fire Blast as well as Pursuit trapping it for good damage. It only has to be worried about being worn down by Toxic over time.
**Snorlax**: Snorlax sponges Celebi's attacks and can threaten it with strong attacks and set up with Curse or Belly Drum.
**Flying-types**: Flying-types, such as Lugia and Ho Oh, take Celebi's attacks with ease, and most of them carry supereffective moves to threaten it with. Zapdos can also use Drill Peck to do good damage to it.
**Steel-types**: Forretress and Skarmory both take very little damage from Hidden Power Grass, with Forretress being able to set up Spikes and threaten Celebi with Toxic and Explosion, and Skarmory threatening it with Toxic and a 3HKO from Drill Peck. Steelix is 4HKOed by Hidden Power Grass and does negligable damage with its Earthquake, however it can still threaten Celebi with a potential OHKO from Explosion. All of these Pokemon must be cautious of Hidden Power Fire.
**Poison-types**: Muk and Gengar take very little from Hidden Power Grass and can hit Celebi for good damage with Sludge Bomb and Ice Punch respectively. They can also do heavy damage to Celebi with Explosion, with Muk's even having good odds to OHKO it. However, they have to be afraid of Psychic.
**Heracross**: Heracross OHKOes Celebi with Megahorn, however it has to be wary of Psychic.
**Mewtwo**: Mewtwo does good damage to Celebi with Flamethrower and Ice Beam, and can OHKO it with Self-Destruct, however, it has to be cautious of Toxic, as it despises being poisoned.
**Mew**: Mew 3HKOes Celebi with Shadow Ball and can set up with Swords Dance in front of it, it can also OHKO it with Explosion. However, it can be worn down over time by Leech Seed and Toxic.
**Blissey**: Blissey takes almost nothing from Celebi's attacks and can threaten it in return with good damage from Flamethrower and Toxic, as well as take the opportunity to use Heal Bell itself.
**Jolteon**: Jolteon takes only minor damage from Celebi's attacks, which allows it to set up Growth boosts in front of Celebi and pass them to much more threatening teammates. However it is deathly afraid of Toxic, as the Toxic damage counter is also passed to whoever Jolteon switches to with Baton Pass.
