Ghost
========

Chandelure is an amazing wallbreaker and setup sweeper on Ghost teams because of its high Special Attack and great offensive typing. It happens to be the best option Ghost teams have to get rid of Steel-types like Mega Scizor and Ferrothorn. Flash Fire gives Chandelure a Fire immunity to absorb powerful attacks like V-create and Fire Blast, which adds to its Fighting and Normal immunities. Calm Mind lets it muscle past bulky Pokemon like Heatran and Porygon2. Unfortunately, Chandelure's Fire typing and poor bulk cause it to be worn down constantly, which is made worse by Ghost teams' lack of viable entry hazard removal. Its average Speed tier leaves it open to faster threats like Excadrill and Hydreigon. Although its Special Attack is very high, Chandelure still has a hard time breaking through specially defensive Pokemon like Tyranitar and Tentacruel.

name: SubCM (Ghost)

move 2: Calm Mind
move 3: Shadow Ball
move 4: Flamethrower
item: Spooky Plate / Leftovers
ability: Flash Fire
nature: Timid

[SET COMMENTS]
Substitute takes advantage of passive Pokemon like Chansey and prevents Chandelure from being revenge killed by faster Pokemon, like Mega Lopunny, Weavile, and Sucker Punch Bisharp, or getting statused. Calm Mind lets Chandelure break through defensive Pokemon like Mega Venusaur and Porygon2 more easily. The combination of Substitute and Calm Mind makes it harder for special attackers like Zapdos and Heatran to KO it. Flamethrower hits Dark- and Normal-types like Mandibuzz and Chansey, which aren't bothered much by Shadow Ball. Additionally, Flamethrower is great for targeting Steel- and Grass-types like Mega Scizor, Ferrothorn, and Whimsicott. Spooky Plate helps it break through Fire-resistant defensive Pokemon like Heatran and Tentacruel. Leftovers alternatively gives Chandelure passive recovery behind Substitute, improving its overall longevity. Flash Fire allows it to check Fire-types like Mega Charizard Y and Victini. Avoid repeatedly switching into entry hazards, notably Stealth Rock, as it wears down Chandelure to a great extent. Chandelure should utilize Substitute to play mindgames with Bisharp to avoid being revenge killed by Sucker Punch.

Golurk sets Stealth Rock to chip foes, break Focus Sash from Pokemon like Breloom, and break Dragonite's Multiscale, allowing Chandelure to pick up KOs more easily. It can also get rid of threatening Rock-types like Tyranitar and Terrakion with Earthquake and support Chandelure in beating Steel-types with its coverage moves. In return, Chandelure can get rid of Ice- and Grass-types that Golurk is unable to deal with, like Avalugg and Mega Venusaur. Choice Scarf Gengar serves as a Ground immunity and revenge kills faster threats to Chandelure like Mega Diancie and Mega Lopunny. Chandelure notably forms a Fire / Water / Grass core with Jellicent and Gourgeist-XL so each can handle the others' weaknesses. Jellicent takes on offensive Water-types like Keldeo, while Gourgeist beats Water- and Ground-types, most notably being able to take a hit from Mega Sharpedo and Mega Gyarados and retaliate with Power Whip. Sableye can prevent entry hazards from going up with Taunt and cripple physical attackers like Bisharp and Excadrill with Will-O-Wisp. Furthermore, Sableye can remove items like Eviolite from Porygon2 and Chansey and Leftovers with Knock Off to assist Chandelure in beating defensive Pokemon. Doublade is an option to beat Dark- and Rock-types that can KO Chandelure, like Bisharp and Tyranitar, with Sacred Sword.

**Revenge Killers**: Faster Pokemon like Mega Diancie and Hydreigon outspeed Chandelure and OHKO it. Priority users like Bisharp and Azumarill can also KO Chandelure, but it can play around Sucker Punch users thanks to Substitute. Pursuit users like Weavile and Mega Aerodactyl can trap and also KO Chandelure.

**Specially Defensive Pokemon*: Tentacruel, Cradily, and Mega Tyranitar can all switch into Chandelure's attacks and retaliate in some way.

**Entry Hazards**: Chandelure is vulnerable to entry hazards, which is made worse by Ghost teams' lack of viable entry hazard removal.

[OVERVIEW]
* Flash Fire adds a Fire immunity alongside its Fighting and Normal immunities, that can absorb powerful attacks like V-Create V-create and Fire Blast while Infiltrator allows Chandelure to bypass dual screens and Substitute.
* Unfortunately, Ghost teams are known for not using hazard removal and its Fire typing adds a huge Stealth Rock weaknesses, causing Chandelure to be worn down a lot. Since the only Ghost-types with moves that can remove hazards aren't even on the viability rankings, I'd remove the first part of this sentence and change it to "Ghost doesn't have access to viable hazard removal"
* Although its special attack is very high, it still has a hard time breaking through specially defensive pokemon Pokemon like Tyranitar and Tentacruel easily.

[SET COMMENTS]
* Substitute is used to force Steel- and Grass-types like Mega Scizor, Ferrothorn, and Whimiscott out and attack or use them as set up bait. Chandelure forces these Pokemon out with its Fire STAB moves, not Substitute.
* Infiltrator is an option that ignores dual screens and Substitute from Pokemon like Serperior. Not a huge fan of the Serperior example. Try to find something more mainstream if possible.
* Gengar can absorb Toxic Spikes that can wear down Chandelure and revenge kill faster threats to Chandelure like Mega Diancie and Mega Loppuny thanks to Choice Scarf. Gengar can't absorb Toxic Spikes since it has Levitate. Also mention that it works as a Ground immunity.
* Chandelure can handle Grass-types like Serperior and Breloom for Jellicent and Ice- and Fire-types like Mamoswine and Mega Charizard for Gourgeist-Super. Chandelure doesn't check Mamoswine without previous chip damage or boosts.
* Gourgeist-Super gets opportunities to come in on Ground- and Water-types like Excadrill and Seismitoad, and notably survive an attack from Mega Sharpedo and Mega Gyarados thanks to Power Whip and KO them back with Power Whip.
* Sableye can prevent entry hazards from going up with Taunt and status physical attackers like Bisharp and Scolipede with Will-O-Wisp. Find a better example than Scolipede.

Checks and Counters
**Specially defensive Pokemon*: Tentacruel, Cradily, and Mega Tyranitar can all switch into Chandelure's attacks because they aren't 2HKOed and retaliate in some way.

**Dark-types**: Hydreigon and Tyranitar don't mind switching into any of Chandelure's attacks as they both resist its STAB moves and threaten it with their attacks. Dark-types like Mega Sharpedo and Krookodile can't switch into Chandelure's attacks as good as the aforementioned Dark-types since they are 3HKOed by Shadow Ball. Slower Pokemon like Bisharp and Cacturne has access to Sucker Punch but can be played around with Substitute.

Flash Fire adds a Fire immunity alongside its Fighting and Normal immunities, that can absorb powerful attacks like V-create and Fire Blast while Infiltrator allows Chandelure to bypass dual screens and Substitute. Unfortunately, Ghost teams doesn't have access to viable hazard removal and its Fire typing adds a huge Stealth Rock weaknesses, causing Chandelure to be worn down a lot . Substitute prevents Chandelure from being revenge killed by faster Pokemon like Mega Lopunny and Weavile, revenge killed by Sucker Punch Bisharp, and catching a status condition Add "taking advantage of passive Pokemon like Chansey" here. Calm Mind boosts its Special Attack and Defense causing it to break through defensive Pokemon like Mega Venusaur and Porygon2 more easily. Its combination of Substitute and Calm Mind makes it harder for special attackers like Zapdos and Heatran to KO it. Shadow Ball is its primary STAB that hits a wide range of Pokemon for neutral damage. Flamethrower hits Dark- and Normal-types like Mandibuzz and Chansey that aren't bothered much by Shadow Ball. Additionally, Flamethrower is great for targeting Steel- and Grass-types like Mega Scizor, Ferrothorn, and Whimiscott. Spooky Plate boosts the power of Chandelure's Shadow Ball, allowing it to wallbreak through defensive Pokemon more easily. Leftovers gives Chandelure passive recovery behind Substitute, improving its overall longevity. Flash Fire gives opportunities to come in on Fire-type attacks as it adds a Fire immunity alongside its Fighting and Normal immunities helping check / set up on ..... . Infiltrator is an option that ignores dual screens and Substitute . Maximum Special Attack and Speed EVs with a Timid nature maximize Chandelure's damage output while also outspeeding Pokemon like Adamant Dragonite, Diggersby, and Bisharp. Substitute can be used on passive Pokemon like Chansey and the aforementioned Steel- and Grass-type Pokemon attempting to switch out on its Flamethrower. Avoid repeatedly switching into entry hazards, notably Stealth Rock, as it wears down Chandelure to a great extent. Chandelure should utilize Substitute to play mindgames on Bisharp to avoid being revenge killed by Sucker Punch.

Chandelure notably forms a Fire / Water / Grass core alongside Jellicent and Gourgeist-Super to handle each others' weaknesses. Jellicent can switch into offensive Water-types like Keldeo and Mega Swampert and wear down Pokemon with status conditions and stalling damage with Recover. Gourgeist-Super gets opportunities to come in on Ground- and Water-types like Excadrill and Seismitoad, and notably survive an attack from Mega Sharpedo and Mega Gyarados and KO them back with Power Whip. Chandelure can handle Grass-types like Serperior and Breloom for Jellicent and Ice- and Fire-types like Avalugg and Mega Charizard Y for Gourgeist-Super. Replace with: "Jellicent takes on offensive Water-types like Keldeo while Gourgeist beats Water- and Ground-types, most notably being able to take a hit from Mega Sharpedo and Mega Gyarados and retaliate with Power Whip."
