SM OU Chansey Bulky Offense

This is my first team based on a bulky offensive playstyle. It doesn’t get much higher than 1300 ELO however so it needs improvement, I’m not very good and can’t seem to do it for myself, HELP!

Aggron @ Aggronite
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 248 HP / 56 Atk / 200 SpD / 4 Spe
Careful Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Heavy Slam
- Earthquake
- Ice Punch
This is main bulky offensive pokemon. It can set up stealth rocks safely with mega and respond with good coverage to eliminate threats such as Landorus Therian. It is usually my lead pokemon as it can do lots at the very beginning.

Gardevoir @ Fightinium Z
Ability: Trace
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Will-O-Wisp
- Psyshock
- Moonblast
- Focus Blast
With Z Focus Blast it can immediately do huge damage to my opponents, will-o-wisp can remove a lot of damage from the field and it runs psyshock to remove Chansey threats, with double stab it does great damage and as long as focus blast hits can remove Tyranitar.

Kyurem-Black @ Life Orb
Ability: Teravolt
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Ice Beam
- Fusion Bolt
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Roost
My life orb Pokemon, HP Fire removes Ferrothorn and Kartana from the field, while ice beam and fusion bolt have huge damage in themselves. Roost allows it to sustain itself for longer and remain a threat on the field of play.

Ninetales-Alola @ Light Clay
Ability: Snow Warning
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Aurora Veil
- Freeze-Dry
- Hypnosis
- Hail
Can set up Aurora Veil instantly to keep my other pokes alive such as kyurem-black Hypnosis can allow lots of damage and freeze dry can stop the toxapex. Hail allows another aurora veil later.

Chansey @ Eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Bold Nature
- Seismic Toss
- Toxic
- Stealth Rock
- Soft-Boiled
Can set up rocks and act as a tank, seismic toss and toxic let's it take out opponents, while softboiled keeps it alive. Bold nature +252 def stops physical from being huge problem for it and it can take psyshocks considerably well.

Tyranitar @ Assault Vest
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 224 HP / 32 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Rock Slide
- Crunch
- Pursuit
- Earthquake
My physical attacker can pursuit to get rid of lele and Alakazam with earthquake for heatran and Rockslide for stab damage that sometimes flinches on slower targets. Crunch is my main STAB dark type move, with assault vest + sand making it very tanky on that side.

Hi and sorry for making you wait so long! Im no expert at team rating so this rate will be far from perfect, but Ill do my best.

I noticed that a lot of your pokemon are defensively oriented by means of their high stats. While it has potential, your current team needs improvement in my opinion for a couple of reasons.

Most importantly, the team's type synergy needs improvement. It has common weaknesses to steel and fighting, and it lacks resists to types like ground, in the form of pkmn spamming EQ or something.

I do appreciate the gardevoir though, which lures in steel types and KO them, and also is strong against fighting. This role is good, but its not a sufficient defense against fighting moves. Kartana in particular often runs steel/fighting coverage, which can hit your entire team for supereffective damage as well as outspeed almost your entire team.

Your team is prone to being worn down by things like entry hazards because it lacks a defogger or a rapid spinner. This role is about mandatory for any team given how good entry hazards are, and chip damage from rocks or spikes quickly adds up on bulky pokemon (especially those without a form of recovery)

One more thing, your team could benefit from a faster offensive pokemon. These pokemon fill the role of setup sweeping/cleaning weakened teams at the end of a match, or in some cases revenge kill an opponent trying to sweep, if they are running a scarf.

So far, here are the changes Im wanting to make.

Major Changes:

AV TTar --> standard defensive Zapdos
177250
-->
177251

Zapdos @ Leftovers
Ability: Static
EVs: 248 HP / 240 Def / 20 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Defog
- Roost
- Discharge
- Heat Wave

Zapdos is a good addition to the team because it covers Aggrons', Chansey's, and Kyurem's weakness to fighting and steel. For that reason, Zapdos likes to switch directly into those attacks as well as other ones it resists. From there, you can heal with roost. Zapdos also provides entry hazard removal if your opponent manages to get a lot of hazards on your side. Zapdos also threatens out most steel types with Heat Wave.

Ninetales --> Scarf Victini
177253

Victini @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Victory Star
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- V-create
- Bolt Strike
- U-turn
- Trick/Final Gambit

Ive been playing around with a lot of fast offensive pokemon for this slot, and scarved pokemon tend to work the best since the Z- crystal and mega slots sre both taken. Scarf Victini is good at revenge killing, which is basically coming in on an opponent pokemon after a teammate has died, and either taking them out or denting their teammate on Victinis next attack (due to Victinis powerful, high BP attacks). I suggest experimenting even more with this slot, but Victini is also just fun to use.

Ninetales feels out of place for this team because screens usually fit best with offensive teams. This is because the pokemon usually benefitting from it is doing a big play like attempting a sweep, and reduced damage during a few crucial turns is important. For bulky offense, screens arent usually worth it because certain defensive cores dont need it, it doesnt last a super long time, and Ninetales doesnt find many opportunities to set it up becaise it is so frail. As a result, I switched it out for a fast and offensive pokemon.

Minor Changes:
177254

Chansey @ Eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Bold Nature
- Seismic Toss
- Protect
- Toxic/Stealth Rock
- Wish

I made Chansey a wish passer to benefit Mega Aggron and give him a means of recovery, as he does make up a decent part of your teams defensive backbone. Make sure to do your best keeping all of your bulky defensive pokemon healthy and able to take hits.

Gardevoir --> Tapu Lele
177255
-->
177256

Tapu Lele @ Fightinium Z
Ability: Psychic Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Shadow Ball
- Psychic
- Moonblast
- Focus Blast

Lele performs the same role as Gard. It lures in slightly weakened steel types and KOs them with Z-focus blast. Lele has the same type and the same item, but Lele has better base stats across the board and an arguably more versatile ability. Also, I switched Psyshock for Psychic, which is more powerful, and the damage difference is very noticable agaknst physically defensive opponents. Shadow ball is there to pressure bulky psychics.

I hope I helped! Again Im no expert, but I hope you got something from me going on about elements like type synergy and the importance of fast offensive pokemon. Thanks!

Aggron-Mega
Tapu Lele
Kyurem-Black
Victini
Chansey
Zapdos

Ok, I really think Zappos should not replace Ttar. Zapdos is a Special attacker. Ttar is Physical. Ttar should stay.

Also, Mega-Aggron is not the best Pokemon bully offense ‘mon for OU. I think Mega Garchomp may do the job better.

Anyway, this is just my opinion. You don’t have to follow it :)
