ORAS OU Chansey: Cause baby I'm a Latios...Normal/Psychic/Ghost core

Hey guys! I was discussing with my friend as to what will happen if Slaking got a usable hidden ability so I said that it would probably increase Gardevoir's usage as slaking can switch into ghost type moves for Garde and Garde can take fighting type moves for Slaking. Unfortunately, as Slaking has not yet been blessed, I decided to replace it with chansey and make a psychic, normal, ghost core.

gengar.gif

Dark Horse (Gengar) @ Black Sludge
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 8 HP / 248 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hex
- Icy Wind
- Will-O-Wisp
- Sludge Wave

Gengar forms part of the core. It helps by switching into fighting type attacks aimed at chansey. As most fighting type pokemon are physical, a burn helps in crippling them. That is where hex comes in a takes them out. It helps Latios as it can somewhat switch into fairy type attacks aimed at it. Icy Wind helps in slowing people down and sludge wave just has great power and kills fairies. I was wondering whether or not to run prankster sableye as it can wear down my opponent and make it easier for garde and pinsir to come in and sweep.

chansey.gif

Katy Perry (Chansey) @ Eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpD
Bold Nature
- Wish
- Protect
- Seismic Toss
- Heal Bell

Chansey, as mentioned before, forms part of the core. Obviously it loves to switch into ghost type attacks aimed at Gengar and Latios. It has a standard ev spread but the move pool helps in replenishing my teams' energy as well as her own. Heal bell gets rid of any annoying statuses that may cripple or slow down my relatively speed dependant attackers. Seismic toss so that it is not simply taunt bait. One of her most vital roles is switching into status moves so that she can sponge them and cure herself through natural cure.

latios.gif

Firework (Latios) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Earthquake

I've replaced Gardevoir with Latios. So this completes my core. The evs and scarf allow me to come in and KO a +1 Megazard X as they normally run Adamant. Also, it allows me to pick off a weakened +1 Mega Gyarados. Psyshock acts as a secondary stab hitting Conkeldurr, Mega Venasaur and Keldeo. Hidden Power Fire is to hit ferrothorn, scizor and the like while earthquake helps destroy heatran who otherwise walls this set. It also gives me a secondary switch in to ground type attacks.

heatran.gif

Roar (Heatran) @ Air Balloon
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Lava Plume
- Earth Power
- Ancient Power
- Stealth Rock

Heatran was the best choice to patch up Gengar and Latios' weaknesses as it resists psychic, fairy, dragon and ice. It is also my Talonflame counter, thus the ancient power. I also thought that having the odd boost from ancient power from time to time would be nice. Lava plume over Fire Blast simply because of the accuracy. I can't land 90% accurate moves consistently, so I wasn't willing to take a chance. Also, the 30% burn chance helps with Gengar's Hex. This dude sets up my rocks pretty well too.

scizor.gif

California Gurls (Scizor) @ Leftovers
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Defog
- Bullet Punch
- Swords Dance
- Roost

This is a standard defog Scizor set. Adds a priority to my team. I've changed Knock off for swords dance and it has helped in making scizor act as a makeshift wincon. Roost allows me to stay in longer. Although, I was thinking of replacing this guy with Skarmory with either rocky helmet or shed shell (most likely). That way I have a safe switch in to eq and I don't have to rely on Pinsir mega evolving. Sturdy is a plus point, along with the layers of spikes, whirwind, and brave bird. Help regarding this would be much appreciated.

pinsir-mega.gif

I kissed a girl and I liked it (Pinsir) @ Pinsirite
Ability: Hyper Cutter
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Return
- Close Combat
- Quick Attack

I saw that this team was lacking a solid physical attacker and a set up sweeper. Although not as common as it used to be, it has been pretty fantastic for me so far. It gives me an extra priority as well. Perfect for late game. You mess with him, he returns the favour. Get it, returns! Okay, yeah, that was pretty bad. So basically, he comes in, sets up a swords dance and then hits everything return or close combat and picks of weakened mons that would otherwise outspeed him with quick attack. However, if I do introduce Skarm, then I was thinking of putting in Mega Gyara or Mega Zard X, as they probably are far more efficient as set up sweepers with dd. Then again, I do lose my priority.

Thanks in advance! I am sorry to trouble you all.

I'm really digging the idea of a Normal/Ghost/Psychic core. Here are a few suggestions for you:

I would recommend running Focus Blast on Gardevoir so that it can revenge kill steels, which resist both of its STABs, like Heatran. It also nails things like Tyranitar and Bisharp, who could threaten Garde otherwise. The last moveslot is really up to you, but you might find some more utility with moves like Will-O-Wisp to get a burn on an unsuspecting physical attacker that switches in on Garde. Trick is another option to cripple slow pokemon that rely on switching moves to be effective, like Chansey or Blissey or Ferrothorn. Destiny Bond is also an option to take down an unsuspecting attacker or set-up sweeper.

I think running Swords Dance over Knock Off on Scizor is potentially a good idea. Swords Dance/Technician boosted BPs are a monster for a lot of teams to face, and Scizor gets a lot of opportunities to set up with its impressive bulk - it can also act as a secondary win condition for your team if Mega-Pinsir has gone down. U-Turn over Knock Off is another option that is STAB and can grab momentum.

A more drastic change you could make would be to opt for Mega-Scizor over Mega-Pinsir. I think this could benefit your team because it is a mega that is not nearly as susceptible to rocks, while forming a nice pair with Heatran, who can take fire type attacks aimed at Scizor. Scizor is also better at removing the dark types that threaten your core like Weavile, Tyranitar, and Bisharp.

If you were to remove Mega Pinsir, I would still stick with a strong physical attacker with access to priority. Talonflame appreciates that Scizor can remove rocks for it, and has access to the strongest priority move in all of pokemon, allowing it to act as a late game cleaner. A Choice Band set or specially defensive set with Bulk Up/Swords Dance seem like good options. Talonflame has the benefit of outspeeding Mega-Pinsir and cleaning with a much stronger move. Talonflame has similar boosting options, a much better second STAB, access to priority reliable recovery in Roost, access to utility moves like Will-O-Wisp and Taunt, and is able to hold an item for passive recovery or a power boost. I will admit that Talonflame does not have as much immediate power as Mega-Pinsir due to it's significantly lower attack stat. Alternatively, you could run Belly Drum or Choice Band Azumarill, as Azu appreciates that Scizor can take poison and grass moves. Belly Drum Azumarill is an incredibly potent threat and can act as a late game cleaner very effectively. Choice Band Azumarill is another option that appreciates Heal Bell and Wish Support from Chansey greatly, plus is has nice synergy with the rest of your team. If I had to pick between Azumarill and Talonflame, I would probably choice Azumarill because it can threaten both Landorus forms, who might otherwise be a problem for your team.

I hope you find my suggestions helpful. Good luck!

Haha, I'm glad you like it. I agree with you on giving up knock off for swords dance. I'll be sure to give mega scizor a try. However, I'll probably run Talonflame over Azumarill as that gives me atleast one pokemon who can safely switch into earthquake. I was waiting for someone to tell me to add focus blast on Gardevoir :P I hate it's accuracy though. The inconsistency makes it feel like hax. Trick sounds really good though. Thanks so much for your help! The suggestions were extremely helpful.

I am sorry to bother you again but will this set do for bellydrum Azu?

Azumarill @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 92 HP / 252 Atk / 164 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Belly Drum
- Aqua Jet
- Play Rough
- Knock Off

I'm glad you found my suggestions helpful! That set looks fine for BD Azu - I think it's the standard set listed on the Smogon Pokedex. Looks like 164 Spe is enough to outpace uninvested base 70s, which is helpful. Max attack EVs and Adamant nature lets Azu hit as hard as possible, and the rest of the EVs dumped in HP gives Azu just a little bit of extra bulk, which can be nice. All in all, looks good to me!

I used to run Scarfed Gardevoir until I got tired of it. It really doesn't hit as hard and doesn't outspeed the base 135 megas even with Timid nature.

I've always liked more offense-oriented teams, and that's why I would suggest you to try Scarf Latios. You could run a modest nature to make sure it hits as hard as a rock, and you will no longer have to worry about scarf Lando, M Beedrill or M Sceptile, among others.

And in order to not get walled by Heatran, you could run this lure set:

Latios @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Sp Atk / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Psyshock
- Earthquake
- Draco Meteor
- Trick

EQ 2HKOs Heatran even with modest nature. And even though you can't really hit Ferrothorn without HP Fire, giving it a Choice Scarf is enough to cripple it forever (and the same goes to any other wall that may switch in).
