Charizard is a pretty scary wallbreaker on sun teams; its access to high-Base Power STAB moves and good coverage options coupled with its damage-boosting ability makes it very difficult to switch into safely. Flamethrower or Fire Blast turns into Max Flare while Charizard is Dynamaxed, letting it set sun for itself if necessary and preventing Sand Rush Excadrill from revenge killing it. Alternatively, Gigantamax Charizard can be run to turn these moves into G-Max Wildfire, which deals a lot of residual damage, even to foes that resist the move; Max Flare's ability to set sun is usually preferred, however. Hurricane turns into a 100% accurate Max Airstream, which boosts Charizard's Speed and prevents foes like Eternatus from easily revenge killing it. Solar Beam hits instantly under sun, targeting Water-types such as Rotom-W and Quagsire. Focus Blast lets Charizard deal major damage to Tyranitar without needing to Dynamax. Alternatively, Dragon Pulse becomes Max Wyrmwind, which gives Charizard a chance to OHKO Eternatus under sun and can be useful against other Dragon-types such as Dragapult and Hydreigon if they have Dynamaxed or if sun isn't active. If Charizard isn't Dynamaxed, however, then a super effective Dragon Pulse doesn't hit much harder than a neutral Hurricane. A Timid nature is preferred to outspeed Excadrill and Galarian Darmanitan prior to Speed boosts and Choice Scarf Galarian Darmanitan at +1, but a Modest nature can also be considered for the extra wallbreaking power. Heavy-Duty Boots is run to negate Charizard's crippling Stealth Rock weakness. Solar Power gives Charizard tremendous wallbreaking power under sun at the cost of incurring recoil every turn.

Charizard should only be used on sun teams; Torkoal and Ninetales are invaluable teammates to provide sun support for it. Other Pokemon that can benefit from being on sun teams include: Eternatus, which gets a boost to its Flamethrower, breaks down shared checks like Tyranitar, and soft checks Water-types; Dugtrio, which can remove Tyranitar, Eternatus, and Toxapex from play; and Zacian-C, which can use Solar Blade to get past Quagsire. Pivots like Rotom-W and Galarian Darmanitan can bring Charizard into play safely, giving it more opportunities to wallbreak.

I think Dynamax Charizard has some merit as an alternative to its Gigantamax, since Max Flare can reset the sun in case it goes out while Zard is on the field or if Torkoal is knocked out previously. Speaking of Torkoal, since the standard set (at least the one posted in this analysis forum) doesn't seem to run Heat Rock in favor of Boots, Helmet, or Shed Shell, I'd say having a secondary option to set up Sun would definitely benefit Charizard and its fellow Sun abusers.

Since the giga formes are essentially ubers due to OU's max ban its worth covering Gmax use if we're talking the base forme, even if to say its inferior.

Charizard is actually reasonably good at abusing different weathers but it needs to be played remembering the other weather mons in the game, which is more aimed at full analysis territory to explain. In terms of this, I'd slash Focus Blast with Dragon Pulse, maybe even first. Its a risky idea to Dynamax when weather setters are around (obviously very game dependent) as they will play to reset it and you only get 1 or maybe 2 attacks off before they control the plays again. Focus Blast lets you bait and hit Tyranitar meaning it has less room to mess with the weather (and therefore zard). The loss of Dragon Pulse is covered by Solar Power + Hurricane vs Eternatus, but its way more sketch without using Dynamax.
