Introduction
This team is based on the fact that after just one dragon dance, Charizard X is a powerhouse that's pretty hard to counter and can often sweep an entire team. It has a few options that support Charizard, like tailwind on Latios, and Clefable with a healing wish, that can bring Charizard back to full health if crippled. The threats will be outlined later, but as a general comment, water is a huge weakness since two and a half of the six are weak to water, and I only have one that's super effective.
The Dream Team
Latios @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Defog
- Draco Meteor
- Tailwind
- Psyshock
Latios is a powerhouse in his own right, with massive speed and special defense, he carries a draco meteor capable of 1HKOing a lot of common OU mons. Also on with this set, I have defog to remove rocks from the field, because that would cripple Charizard. The tailwind is there to give my team speed, especially when setting up for Char. Psyshock is a fourth move to check threats like Conkeldurr. Hasn't really come in that useful honestly.
Heatran @ Air Balloon
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Lava Plume
- Flash Cannon
- Ancient Power
Heatran proves very useful. With his massive special defense and great typing, he is a perfect switch-in for many threats, such as Talonflame, virtually any Fairy type (Except Azumarill, the bane of my existence), and some dragon types. Lava Plume and Flash Cannon do some decent damage to a lot of different pokemon, while Ancient Power is there to take down Talonflame a
Serperior @ Life Orb
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Leaf Storm
- Giga Drain
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Glare
Serperior is a great counter to many threats such as Azumarill, Rotom, Slowbro, etc. With Leaf Storm+Contrary combo, it becomes incredibly powerful and pretty hard to stop. Giga Drain is there to heal myself when him when I know I can 1HKO, hidden power is there for common counters, such as another Serperior, or any ice type.
Diggersby @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Return
- Knock Off
- U-turn
Diggersby with a choice scarf is a revenge killing machine, able to outspeed most, if not all pokemon in the metagame. Return and Earthquake both hit incredibly hard, being STABs and also boosted by Huge Power. Knock off is for rare occasions, and U-turn is there for if I bring out Diggersby, and they bring out something I know will win.
Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Bold Nature
- Moonblast
- Heal Bell
- Calm Mind
- Healing Wish
Clefable is pretty important. With high defenses, it can switch into a lot of moves. The dragon immunity is absolutely necessary when using a Charizard. Healing Wish comes in very useful. If Charizard (or in certain cases anyone else on my team) is hurt, Clefable can bring it back to wreak its havoc once again.
Charizard @ Charizardite X
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Flare Blitz
- Roost
- Dragon Claw
Charizard is my main powerhouse, my sweeper, my destroyer of worlds. After just one Dragon Dance, which is easy to get off because people will often switch when he comes out. Another thing that happens often is, the foe will have earthquake, and expecting a switch to Mega, they will use it. I won't go mega first turn, and instead just dragon dance, then destroy them with Dragon Claw. Dragon Claw can 1HKO a lot of pokemon. For fairies and high defense pokemon, I have Flare Blitz, which, while it will 1HKO almost anything, takes a huge toll on my health. That's where Roost, and the aforementioned Healing Wish come in. Once he's back to full health, he can wreak his havoc all over again.
Conclusion
So there it is. I can often get a DD of on Charizard and a lot of the time that's game over. The major play-ender of that is my mortal nemesis, the bane of my existence, Satan himself, evil incarnate, aka... Azumarill. Any advice on taking him out? Diance is also a big threat, as well as Gengar. Any advice would be greatly helpful. Thanks!
