Hello smogon! After lurking this forum for a looong time. I finally decided to sign up. And here's my first rmt! I just recently started playing after quitting about 2 years ago. Hopefully you guys can help point out some weaknesses to make a better team. So without further ado..

Charizard @ Charizardite X
Blaze
Adamant
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Dragon Claw
Flare Blitz
Roost
Dragon Dance

The standard charizard x set. Dragon Claw instead of Outrage to prevent getting locked in. It's not guaranteed that rocks can be off the field even with a spinner so Rosst is there to gain back the lost health. I usually bring this beast out late-game to sweep after weakening/removing threats which brings me to my next pokemon.

Ferrothorn @ Rocky Helmet
Iron Barbs
Relaxed
EVs: 252 HP / 208 Def / 48 Spdef
Stealth Rock
Power Whip
Leech Seed
Protect

It's no secret that Azumarill is literally everywhere this gen. Ferrothorn is there to stop its banded Play Roughs going Charizard's way and can also set up rocks or get some hp back using leech seed which is much needed due to the lack of leftovers recovery. Also 25% damage from each physical attack coming my way? Hell yeah

Goodra @ Assault Vest
Gooey
Sassy
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 Spdef
Dragon Pulse
Fire Blast
Thunderbolt
Dragon Tail

Great type synergy with Ferrothorn. The moves gives it great coverage. Dragon Tail is there to shuffle the opponent's team around racking up more SR damage and forcing counters (Dammit Azumarill) out at the same time. Just a really useful wall in general.

Azumarill @ Choice Band
Huge Power
Adamant
EVs: 172 HP / 252 Atk / 84 Spe
Waterfall
Aqua Jet
Play Rough
Superpower

A fairy type is needed to take out opposing dragons that threaten Zard and thimply perfect. In addition, it has great type synergy with Charizard and they can hit most types for super effective damage. It round up the Dragon/Fairy/Steel AND Fire/Water/Grass core perfectly

Gengar @ Choice Scarf
Levitate
Timid
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Shadow Ball
Sludge Bomb
Focus Blast
Destiny Bond

It's best to remove rocks in every Charizard team. Gengar does just that with his Focus Blast which nails Tyranitar and Mamoswine. Call Destiny Bond cheap but it takes down threats other moves can't late game really well. Plus it can beat the most prominent spinners which may want to spin away the rocks namely Excadrill and Starmie.

Excadrill @ Life Orb
Mold Breaker
Adamant
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Earthquake
Rock Slide
Swords Dance
Rapid Spin

EVERY team running a charizard should have a spinner and excadrill does a decent job. It doesn't fulfil it's role all the time due to its sub par speed so any suggestions for a better ev spread or a replacement will be welcome.

Any criticism will be appreciated. Thanks!

not that I can see, anything I think of would just have a different weakness. You have really nice type coverage and a well balanced team, after playing around with it im sure youll start making little changes but nothing you should change now.

I feel like switching Gengar for Hydriegon may be a good idea. He doesn't fall down as easily as Gengar, and has an immunity to Psychic. While the new Fairy-Types are an issue for him, the more prominent ones are easily taken down by Fire Blast (I'm looking at you Mawile).

Hydriegon @ Choice Specs

-Fire Blast
-Dark Pulse
-Focus Blast
-Draco Meteor

Also, Infestation is brutal when used right with Goodra. Brutal.

Good Luck!

Infestation goodra is interesting to say the least. I could trap a ton of goodra counters only to switch azumarill/charizard in. And is there notable kos specs hydreigon nabs but scarf doesn't?

Now that I think about it, you are right, Scarf is probably better in almost all situations. If you don't want be locked down though, Life Orb or Expert Belt may work.

An interesting idea is baiting out the EQ from an opponent on Excadrill and then switching into Charizard and setting up a DD. This may be a rare situation, but it could work in your odds sometimes. Also both Gengar and Azumarill with a choice item may be a bad idea, you don't want to get locked into something and then give a free setup for the opponent. I also agree with Infestation Goodra. You have good coverage, but SkarmBliss can really shake you up. Anything that sets up can hurt you really bad and it's easy to force a switch after you see two of your Pokemon are Scarfed. Aegislash with a swords dance can really ruin your day, because he can destroy Gengar before he can make a move.

edit: Of course switching in before you go mega I mean, if you think they will predict the mega then just go for another DD.

Hello.

Your descriptions are one line short on the rules requirements.
I encourage you to PM me an updated version of that RMT, so I unlock this thread.

On another note, avoid one line comments, with few to no content within. This is a Forum, this is a RMT thread. It isn't a chat.
I advise you to head over to the Mentor Program to get used to Smogon's forum since all the posters in here are new.

Have a nice day.
