ORAS OU Charizard Y's Fire Power!!!

Voila! Here it is!
Todays RMT is based on the powerhouse that is Mega Charizard Y. The team consists of all the necessary support so that Charizard can violently rip apart the foes opposition! And here they are:

The Death Squad

Detailed Explanation:

445.gif

Sandshark (Garchomp) (M) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 240 HP / 176 Def / 92 Spe
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Roar
- Fire Blast

Garchomp serves as our means of setting up entry hazards and providing some much needed resistance to both rock type moves and electricity attacks! Garchomp also has the added niche of cruelly punishing physical attackers thanks to it's "Rough Skin" ability and the item "Rocky Helmet".

I'm assuming that we're all experts to some extent when it comes to Pokemon. So I feel no need to explain most of the attack moves I'm running. I will however explain some of the unusual ones e.g.
Roar! I chose the attack move "Roar" over "Dragon Tail" because, with my terrible luck, Dragon tail always seems to miss whenever it truly matters! It also provide a nifty way of repelling bothersome fairy types, something that Dragon tail fails to do. "Fire Blast" is for the Ferrothorn and Scizor that foolishly choose to stay in.

465.gif

Wildvines (Tangrowth) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Giga Drain
- Knock Off
- Earthquake
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Tangrowth might seem like an odd and unpopular choice, but it provides a sure-fire way of putting the "chill pill" in Landorus T thanks to the chilling attack move "Hidden Power [Ice]"!
Due to it's bulk, Tangrowth easily forces many switch-ins e.g. Landorus, Heatran etc. All of which do not appreciate having their items "Knocked Off".

Notice: Despite being seen in OU, I absolutely hate the repetitive use of OU Pokemon! So Tangrowth is here to stay, both as my switch-in and lure to Landorus T so that I can nail it with Hidden Power [Ice]!

461.gif

Jackfrost (Weavile) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Icicle Crash
- Knock Off
- Ice Shard
- Pursuit

Jackfrost ...err I mean Weavile was suppose to be the star of the show, however the glory was suddenly shifted for the brilliant Mega that is, Charizard Y. Weavile is the second most important and deadly member of the team! And functions are both our counter and check to most all dragon and pursuit-weak Pokemon e.g. Dragonite, Mew, Latias and Latios etc!
Knock off is the move of choice to spam once the foes team has been weakened enough. But rest assure, I am not one to brainlessly spam Knock off at any given opportunity. I do [however] when I absolutely need to and when I cannot risk missing i.e. "Icicle Crash". Weavile works as our revenge killer and Pursuit-Trapper!

073.gif

Sting (Tentacruel) @ Black Sludge
Ability: Liquid Ooze
EVs: 240 HP / 244 Def / 24 Spe
Bold Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Toxic Spikes
- Scald
- Sludge Bomb

Ah Tentacruel, another brilliant addition to the team! Tentacruel is our hazard remover and additional hazard setter (and just when the foe thought they'd finally gotten rid of prickly monster, that is, Garcomp).
Thanks to it's "Liquid Ooze" ability; Tentacruel also serves as our means to servery punish Mega Venusaur and other HP stealing opponents! The conjunction of "Scald" and "Sludge Bomb" serves as means to pass off status to the opponent, there by putting Pokemon such as Excadrill and Clafable at bay.

006.gif

CharHazard (Charizard) (M) @ Charizardite Y
Ability: Blaze
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 40 HP / 252 SpA / 216 Spe
Modest Nature
- Flamethrower
- Solar Beam
- Earthquake
- Roost

And finally, Ladies and Gentle men! I present to you today the powerhouse, the monster that is and the star of our show, Mega Charizard Y! *the crowd roars!!!*

As his nickname implies "CharHazard" is an additional hazard in and on itself! Capable of popping "paper bags" such as Gliscor, Landorus, Clefable, Mega Sableye and other bulky threats with ease! And we owe all this to it's ability and Modest Nature! What's more, even if such threats do survive it's usually with only 10% their HP remaining!

"Flamethrower" is the move of choice over "Fire Blast", and that's simply because I cannot afford to missing! And it still hits with such intensity!!! "Solar Beam", on the other hand, makes short work of would-be threats such as Rotom Wash, Mega Slowbro, Quagire etc. "Earthquake" is solely for the ever so popular wall, Heatran.
I chose it over "Focus Blast" because I absolutely hate missing, hence, no risks! Next we have the saving grace of a move that is, "Roost". This move has saved Charizard Y so many times and Charizard Y's high Sp Def only reinforces that! We've been able to make multiple hits and brilliant comebacks from Stealth Rock damage. Charizard Y is no less of a threat than Charizard X by a long shot!

639.gif

Terrakion @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- Rock Slide
- Toxic Iron Head

Whilst this may not be my most favourite addition to the team. Terrakion has proven itself to be quite useful by playing the role of our second revenge killer! Once Stealth Rock is on the field, Terrakion can add a lot of pressure simply spamming "Close Combat" over and over again! We've replaced the move "Toxic", with "Iron Head" because we already have Tentacruel and Iron Head is useful against most fairies.

Please Note: If it can be helped, I would prefer limiting my use of OU Pokemon. So things such as Excadrill and Latios etc are not exactly welcome, because I see them on almost every single team.

The End
Well that seem like just about it. Thanks for reading my RMT. Seemed more like a BAMT (brag about my team lol). In case, here's my Mega Charizard Team. What do you think about it? Any suggestions (no more Over-Used Pokemon)? And if you could, would you rate my team on a scale of 1-10? Thank you and god bless!

A Parting Gift
If liked the nicknames you saw and were impressed. There is the site I got them from (enjoy):

Cool team man, i like the idea of Roar on chomper, and hp ice on your Tang
I'd honestly go with Focus Blast on your charizard, as your weavile lacks Low Kick to hit Tyranitars that would be switching into your Zard.
Adamant nature on your terrak allows for more power but if it happens to be knocked off you'll only be hitting 315 speed and ada leaves you more susceptible to Jolly Zardx, which could easily sweep your team late game. Also you already have tspikes to help weaken the sturdy walls that Terrak dislikes Jolly> Adamant
holE the music on that site is so chill lol (that first song tho)

Thanks man, much appreciated :)
mhm yeah, I know what you mean, I considered most of the sets I'm using e.g. "Adamant" Terrakion over "Jolly".
However I tend to edit my Pokemon team as I go along / battle. So based on the battles I've been having, Terrakion is rarely ever out speed and the extra power has been so handy on so many occasions. Don't get me wrong, I really appreciate your help, but the main focus on my team was to weaken as many of the opponents mons as possible so that Weavile can sweep just by spamming Ice Shard (it hits surprisingly hard after Stealth Rocks). Oh and one last thing about Terrakion, taking a Knock off isn't that much of big deal i.e. he get's an attack boost and something from the foes end of the spectrum has to eat up a +1 STAB Close Combat. Plus the lack of a choice item can also be beneficial :D
i.e. we're finally free to run a +1 Close Combat or a +1 Rock Slide.

And personally, I don't really like using OU pokemon, or at least I like to limit my usage of OU mons. So I end up running other weirder Pokemon, natures and sets etc.
Oh and another thing, the thing is, in Pokemon, after you've reached a certain level of skill, all that matters is "how" you play (not necessarily what you're using). Hence I've been winning a lot of matches lol

Current success rate of my team (without any edits): 8.5/10.

yo i think this team will struggle against bulky fairy types like clef/altaria since they can set up on most of ur mons and sweep u. A suggestion to fix this is to use ammongus over tangrowth. This will give u a spore user to put something asleep and can clear smog to stop set up.

I also think that you should have hippowdown over garchomp because with chomp ur team is really pressured by fast volt switchers that run hp ice like manetric-mega/raikou. espeically with hazards up since ur spinner is a water type and dosent have a real way to recover besides with the black sludge. hippowdown dosent get 2ko by hp ice from mega-manetric,raikou etc. can still set up hazards and can still deal with talonflame.

Another suggestion i have is banded tyranitar over scarf terrakion. Your team dosen't really have a stall breaker as most of stall can switch into ur mons but with band tyranitar everything on stall should take alot of damage. This can also make people think twice when they want to attack with lati (when they switch into zard y) because this pursuit trapper can take a draco (unlike ur other pursuit trapper weavile)

591.png

Amoonguss @ Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 160 Def / 96 SpD
Bold Nature
- Spore
- Giga Drain
- Clear Smog
- Hidden Power [Fire]

450.png

Hippowdon @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 144 Def / 112 SpD
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Slack Off
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake

248.png

Tyranitar @ Choice Band
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 168 HP / 252 Atk / 88 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Crunch
- Pursuit
- Stone Edge
- Superpower

Changes in short:
Ammongus over Tangrowrth to help you deal better with set up sweepers and fairy types.
Hippowdown over Garchomp to help with fast volt switchers(manetric/raikou)
Banded Tyranitar over Terraikon to help with fat teams

Thanks for the hint, much appreciated :)
However, I did mention that I'm not the biggest fan of OU pokemon, so I intentionally used the likes of Tangrowth and Tentacruel.
Like I mentioned earlier (thanks for your help) but in Pokemon, when you've reached a certain level of skill, all that matters is "how" you play, not necessarily what you're using.

E.g.

My Charizard Y practically burns Clefable to the ground, however I understand were you coming from i.e. I still can't afford to let it set up at least twice otherwise, we'd find ourselves in a bind lol

Tangrowth can pull it's own weight, both literally and metaphorically i.e. it eats up flamethrowers like a pro and can handle Over heat like a champ thanks to it's Regenerator ability and assault vest. Then it's only a matter of Earthquake over Leaf storm to KO Mega Manetric.

And lastly, my teammates value their health, so they really can afford to take damage from Sandstorms. Believe it or not, but my Weavile has been known to take a Draco Meteor and survive it at full health, but pursuit tends to get most Latios/as users by surprise lol. Plus, the idea of being locked into pursuit isn't exactly an attractive option either lol.

PS: Thanks again everyone, I really do appreciate your help, wishing you the best,

Namerater.

Hey,really nice team here it look like pretty solid however it have some flaws but i'll try to fix them

Main threat for your team is Lati@s, you don't have ANY Dragon resistence/immunity (Steel/Fairy type) which will mean he can get a free kill everytime he come on the field however Weavile can trapkill him but its better to have a Steel/Fairy type which will mean you will don't have to sac one of your mon against him. Weavile is another mon which your team can't handle,it can 6-0 your team with a little prior damage. only Terrakion can revenge kill it and it can't switch on him. Altaria can eat your team too since even Terrakion can't revenge kill him and only Weavile can hit him with Ice Shard (and this is not enough to revenge kill him).

I'd suggest to use Klefki over Terrakion, Close Combat spam is not really as strong as you think because there are a lot of thing which can come without impunity on it (Garchomp,Landorus-T,Slowbro ...). Klefki will allow you to be used as Steel type which will be able to check Lati@s,Fairy/Steel typing allow him to work as really good check to Weavile which is another problem for your team. Its ability Prankster allow him to have an priority on statuts moves (Thunder-Wave,Toxic,Magnet Rise ..), which will allow you to have a good speed control (to stop thing like Zard-X,Altaria).

I don't like Tentacruel on this team since it can't really support it very well(Rapid spin support is important). Starmie i think its a better option with his offensive set since its fite very well on the team,it have a really good offensive pressure and have acces to Rapid Spin.

You are a little bit weak to Talonflame, this is why i recommend to use Stone Edge over Roar on your Garchomp,it will also allow you to pressure opposing Zard-Y,Volcarona.

Focus Blast is a better option than Earthquake on Charizard-Y since it give you a better coverage and allow you to KO Tyranitar.

Leaf Storm is definitvely better on Tangrowth since you are using the AV,you don't care too much about recovery because of Regenerator.
