I wanted to know if you all had any kind of opinion on perhaps a move that was forgotten for Donphan because only Phanpy Learns it...
Again in the Vein of Anti Tyranitar Starters (somewhat)
Donphan@Leftovers
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 252 Att 252 HP
(the EV spread needs work still to achieve best results defensively)
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Ice Shard
- Charm
Grant it this is a bit novelty perhaps but people use Rapid Spin or Knock Off for utility on this guy so why cant I use charm...
With Donphan's Nice HP and 120 Base Defense, after a Charm there isnt much that is going to dent this guy all that hard that isnt a special attack (critical hits and hard Super Effective Physical moves asside)... it also serves as a Pseudo-Switching Mechanism when the opponent switches into a Charm, so for that reason I was contemplating Stealth Rock somewhere... After Charm having Ice Shard "might" not be neccessary. So that move may change depending.
Obviously prediction is the main thing here, and the obvious way around this is to switch in a special attacker, but many special attackers would fear a Donphan Earthquake or Stone Edge to the face...
The way it works is Gyarados for example might come in on a predicted earthquake, get charmed, and then need 2 dragon dances just to get back to the attack it already had... Yea sure there are some pokemon that don't exactly fear Donphan and those will always be used against him if they have one on their team... Wanted to know what you all thought of trying to control the early game in this manner, considering there will be a lot of physical attackers running around...
