Well as you see when I first make this, I am new to the forums. I didn't know where to start so I guess I'll start by posting one of my successful teams and go from there.
Teambuilding Process:
Well for starters, I wanted to use three Pokemon that I thought should have way more usage than they do now. Mega Medicham, Chatot and Chesnaught.
I figured that these three can be a great combo since Chesnaught can absorb Most physical damage that Medicham and Chatot cannot take. At this time, I'm thinking off something that can tank Special Attacks that Chesnaught can't and can set up rocks. I thought off Tyranitar at first, but I didn't want to use Sand when this team wouldn't benefit from it not 1% and have continuous sandstorm damage on top of Life Orb damage that Chatot will have to deal with and Chatot isn't the bulkiest Pokemon neither.
I thought off Bronzong as it resist most of Chesnaught's weaknesses (Ice Flying Psychic) and can set up Stealth Rocks and counters Gliscor well as it is immune to Toxic and Earthquake. I needed something to go along with Bronzong and Chesnaught and I thought of the two Pokemon's fire weakness. This is where Heatran comes in.
I figured I didn't need Specially Defensive Heatran since I had Bronzong who can also set up Stealth Rocks. I went along with my Gen 5 set which was Air Balloon Offensive Heatran which surprisingly did well. Fire Blast did a good amount of damage onto things that switched-in such as Rotom-W. And it's other coverage moves fit perfectly along on Heatran.
Lastly, I just threw a offensive powerhouse which can U-Turn and still hit hard. I decided on Greninja as it gets STAB from every move. Greninja's U-Turn worked very well in the past with Chesnaught and Bronzong there to take any hits necessary.
Into Depth:
Chatot @ Life Orb
Timid Nature
252 SpAtk / 4 HP / 252 Speed
Trait: Tangled Feet
Nasty Plot
Boomburst
Chatter
Hidden Power Fighting
Chatot is an insanely powerful Special sweeper. It gets great Normal(STAB)/Fighting/Flying coverage. Chatot can put a hole into any team and can be a great wallbreaker for this team when a Nasty Plot has been used.
+2 252 SpA Life Orb Chatot Boomburst vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Blissey: 360-425 (50.4 - 59.5%) -- 82.4% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
+2 252 SpA Life Orb Chatot Chatter vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Trevenant: 354-421 (94.6 - 112.5%) -- 75% chance to OHKO
+2 252 SpA Life Orb Chatot Hidden Power Fighting vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Tyranitar: 536-634 (132.6 - 156.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO (No Sand)
+2 252 SpA Life Orb Chatot Hidden Power Fighting vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Tyranitar in Sand: 359-426 (88.8 - 105.4%) -- 31.3% chance to OHKO (In Sand)
+2 252 SpA Life Orb Chatot Boomburst vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Mandibuzz: 489-577 (115.3 - 136%) -- guaranteed OHKO
Medicham @ Medichamite
Jolly Nature
4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Speed
Trait: Pure Power
Fake Out
High Jump Kick
ThunderPunch
Psycho Cut
Medicham is 95% of the time my lead Pokemon. It handles the common Rotom-W lead Very easily (Unless HJK Miss). Medicham also serves the purpose for scouting sometimes with Fake Out and can force switches.
Chesaught @ Leftovers
Impish Nature
252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Trait: Bulletproof
Leech Seed
Spiky Shield
Wood Hammer
Hammer Arm
One of the Pokemon to my unique defensive core. Chesnaught adds an element of Stall to my team when Stealth Rocks are out. Chesnaught can force multiple switches with the combination of Spiky Shield and Leech Seed. Spiky Shield can also help with Talonflame who is one of the main threats to my team when Heatran is out. Hammer Arm and Wood Hammer serves as Chesnaught two main STAB moves.
Heatran @ Air Balloon
Timid Nature
252 SpAtk / 4 SpDef / 252 Speed
Trait: Flash Fire
Fire Blast
Earth Power
Hidden Power Ice
Ancient Power
This serves a great purpose on this team because without it, Talonflame can just easily rip my team apart. Fire Blast serves as STAB and Earth Power and HP Ice serves for coverage as Earth Power hits other Heatrans and HP Ice hits Gliscors that doesn't run Max Speed.
Bronzong @ Leftovers
Sassy Nature
252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpDef
Trait: Levitate
Stealth Rock
Hidden Power Ice
Toxic
Earthquake
This is one of my favorite sets to use on Bronzong. Stealth Rocks is very important as it helps screws Talonflame over and Hidden Power Ice allows Bronzong to hit Gliscor. Earthquake allows Bronzong to hit Fire Types (Not Named Talonflame) for damage since they resist Bronzong's other attack in Hidden Power Ice.
Greninja @ Life Orb
Naive Nature
252 SpAtk / 4 Atk / 252 Speed
Trait: Protean
Hydro Pump
U-Turn
Dark Pulse
Ice Beam
Basic Greninja set I came up with when I first used it. Water/Dark/Ice Coverage is pretty good and U-Turn helps me build momentum and escape when I need to. Hydro Pump and Dark Pulse being the main STABs and Ice Beam and U-Turn also being STABs but gives Greninja the coverage it needs.
Known Threats:
Aegislash- Without Heatran or Greninja, Aegislash can have easy pickings with this team as it can hurt every single one of them badly. Chesnaught does have a fair chance against it though due to Bulletproof.
Talonflame - Again without Heatran Talonflame can wreck havoc on this team. Banded Talonflame hits to hard once Heatran is out of the way.
