[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========
  • Scald is reliable for a stab attack and can also cause burns
  • Volt switch gives initiative to the player, as well as being a solid stab attack
  • Rest allows Chinchou to get rid of any status effects as well as recover HP in one turn
  • Sleep talk lets Chinchou keep using scald or switch out with volt switch while it is asleep from rest
Set Details
========
  • Eviolite gives extra bulk to chinchou that it didn't have before
  • Volt absorb makes chinchou immune to electric attacks and recover HP from them
  • Calm nature lets chinchou eat up special hits better
  • Max HP and SpD EVs makes chinchou a real special wall while the 4 in Def is there for minor physical bulk improvements
Usage Tips
========
  • Switch in Chinchou whenever you fell it is necessary
  • Use scald when you want burns and volt switch if you need to switch
  • Use rest for when you need to heal and sleep talk for when you are asleep and need to choose a move
  • Hard switch if necessary
Team Options
========
  • This form of Chinchou will not stand up as well to physical attacks so physically defensive Pokemon like Avalugg are useful. Avalugg also doubles as a decent spinner
  • Hazard setters like Kricketune and Roselia are always good partners since hazards never hurt chinchou
  • Ice and fire types like Monferno and Vanilluxe are especially useful for pesky grass types that chinchou can't deal with
[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
========
  • You could run a physical defensive set of Scald, Volt Switch, Heal Bell, and Toxic if you feel you need more physical bulk on your team than special. Just switch around the physical and special defense stats. However, the special defensive set is usually more viable
  • HP Fire can be used for ice and bug coverage, as well as grass, but ice beam is overall a better option
  • Protect can be used to stall opponents with toxic or scald burn, but moves like rest and sleep talk on the special set, as well as heal bell on the physical set, usually prove to be more effective on teams

Checks & Counters
========
  • Grass types like Simisage can put a dent into chinchou while it can't do anything barring ice beam or HP Fire
  • Physical attacks while not as threatening, can still cause problems for chinchou. The same can be done for special attacks if defensive set is run
  • Trick is a huge problem since without eviolite, chinchou's bulk is almost nonexistent. Chinchou also can't function at all with a choice item

follow the correct analysis format please. this also should be in bullet points before it's received 2 qc checks. also, i haven't used this but i believe the viable spread is supposed to be specially defensive?

wow ninja

Anty, will get on to adding that set
Also Magnemite, on the lc sets, chinchou is focused more physically defensive while lanturn is more mixed bulk. That's why i gave a note to running a special defense set

You should check out some other analyses to see how C&C should look, it's not in the same bullet point style as everything else. Also, I think you're looking at grass types / ground types / strong physical attackers / special walls for your sections? I don't have too much experience with this but trick and just broadly "physical attacks" are definitely not sections

Additionally, I'd read some of the threads we have about what you should be writing in each section. There are some bullets here that aren't great and a ton of stuff missing from the overview (why do I use this? what threatens it? is there any point in mentioning its great offensive and support movepool if things like ice beam and heal bell aren't actually worth using?). But overall things like "Switch in Chinchou whenever you fell it is necessary" or "Hard switch if necessary" arent really helpful to a reader. The point is to give people an idea of how to use the mon, what to use on it, what to use it with, and what threatens it. That doesn't actually provide any useful information for a person who has never used chinchou before
