[SET COMMENTS]
Flamigo's unique traits of a powerful ability in Scrappy, an incredibly high Attack stat, the ability to pivot thanks to U-turn, and strong powerful STAB moves make it one of the strongest wallbreakers and physical attackers in the tier, although it is easily revenge killed. Close Combat is extremely spammable in tandem with Scrappy, targeting Pokemon like Golurk, Alolan Sandslash, and Duraludon. Brave Bird is a useful alternative STAB move that targets Pokemon like Heracross, Galarian Slowbro, and Florges. U-turn allows Flamigo to pivot out of awkward matchups like Bellibolt and Houndstone. Roost allows Flamigo to capitalize on the switches it forces against Pokemon like Scrafty and Wo-Chien and recover off damage from Stealth Rock and Brave Bird recoil, although its prediction reliance makes it risky to use. Tera Flying boosts Flamigo's more spammable Flying-type STAB move and achieves rolls like 2HKOing Gligar, whereas Tera Fighting boosts Close Combat, allowing it to OHKO Rotom-H and Bronzong with minimal chip damage. Tera Fighting also does not make Flamigo weak to Stealth Rock.
Flamigo fits on offensive teams that want to have a powerful wallbreaker that can also bluff as a revenge killer. Flamigo's ability to OHKO Pokemon like Skuntank, both Paldean Tauros formes, and Scrafty means Pokemon threatened by these foes like Delphox, Galarian Articuno, Salazzle, and Ambipom all make stellar partners. Flamigo appreciates having the likes of Gligar and Gastrodon set up entry hazards to chip away at its few switch-ins like Bellibolt and Mudsdale and make it more difficult for revenge killers like Pawmot, Delphox, and Inteleon to switch in, while in turn Flamigo can KO both Wo-Chien and Paldean Tauros-W, which would threaten these two. Other offensive pivots like Kilowattrel and Bruxish can make a stellar pivot core with Flamigo that can be hard to stop. Choice Scarf users like Zoroark and Florges make good partners, as most people assume Flamigo will be Choice Scarf, allowing these more niche options to become a surprise.
