Gen 3 Choice Band + mag/cloyster offense

Hello everyone <3 I would like to share a strange team that I came up with.

I wanted to run something that would be my own and suit my style of play. I love making crazy plays, with unique and silly looking teams that can cause havoc if played correctly. Games can be very up and down with this team, I really enjoy the volatile nature of it.

If some of you more experienced gamers could help me optimise my team/point things out I may not have considered (which is probably a lot, to be fair) I'd be super grateful!

Big Smoke (Weezing) @ Choice Band
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 212 HP / 252 Atk / 44 Def
Adamant Nature
- Explosion
- Hidden Power [Fighting]
- Shadow Ball
- Sludge Bomb

Step 1) Pick up unexpected KO with Big Smoke because what kind of maniac actually uses banded weezing?
Step 2) Say "you're supposed to follow the train, CJ!" to your opponent.
Step 3) You're having fun. Well done, you're the real winner of pokemon!

In all serousness though, underestimate this set at your peril! The amount of times people try to soak a will-o with their blissey, starmie, celebi, fire type, only to get clapped by a banded sludge bomb or HP fighting, it genuinely puts a big grin on my face! Ofc once your opponent is onto your shenanigans it gets a lot tougher, but Weezing's great natural bulk, toxic and ground immune make it fairly easy to get back in, and exploding into a steel type is a lot less likely because they don't want to go anywhere near the wisp or fire coverage that they might think you have. Max hp special ttar sets willing to take a wisp will take about 90% from hidden power and be outsped by my favorite smokey boi. I used to run wisp despite the choice band but it made some situations super awkward so I dropped it. The aim is to make large holes in teams before they figure you out. If it's a bad lead matchup then you can turn 1 swap and keep the gimmick hidden.

Og Chomp (Flygon) @ Choice Band
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Hidden Power [Bug]
- Quick Attack

One of the strongest and most spammable earthquakes in the game, I love banded flygon. When they try to counter you with a bulky water and take 60% on the switch, then you threaten a KO, it's just brilliant. Of course we really need skarm and gengar out of the way, but Flygon is at least able to chip them if needed. Hiding the band in sandstorm is much easier with a Flygon thanks to it's immunities as an added bonus. Quick attack is how I prevent things like reversal sweepers or petaya jolteon running away with games since I don't have sandstorm. Good insurance against endeavour Swampert too. Flygon at 1HP can still do a lot. Rocks and HP bug pretty self explanatory. I'm aware of the gust option for breloom and heracross but sometimes quick attack is just what i need to pick off a fast threat. This used to be banded Mence but I've had more success with Flygon.

Bangers n Mash (Metagross) @ Choice Band
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 116 HP / 252 Atk / 140 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Meteor Mash
- Explosion
- Rock Slide

CB meta does CB meta things. Solid damage while providing some defensive backbone. Not too much to say here, good ol' reliable tried and true banded Metagross. No shenanigans here.

Mr Pointy (Cloyster) @ Leftovers
Ability: Shell Armor
EVs: 36 HP / 192 SpA / 80 SpD / 200 Spe
Modest Nature
- Explosion
- Spikes
- Surf
- Ice Beam

I love how offensive Cloyster can be. I'm not even sure if I need spikes to be honest. I figured 3 banders could force a lot of switches so maybe spikes would be high value. I love clicking ice beam into a spin block attempt. Honestly, I just like spamming ice beam gen 1 style and smirking to myself when I catch a freeze. It outspeeds non jolly ttar and defensive Suicune and can do stuff with surf and explode. To be honest I'm not great with EV spreads for cloyster, it kind of wants every stat so I never know what nature and spread to go for.

Eyes Never Lie (Magneton) @ Leftovers
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 2 Atk / 30 SpA
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Protect
- Toxic

I chose HP grass over fire to help with swampert and it helps with claydol too. I couldn't justify having 4 non leftovers on my team. Heck you can barely justify 2 or 3. The longevity comes in handy, I love how mag's defensive type is both great and terrible at the same time. I just have to try chip a careful skarm or pray to the gods of RNG before tbolting it.

Salad Robes (Celebi) @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 68 HP / 108 Def / 148 SpA / 184 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 2 Atk / 30 SpA / 30 Spe
- Calm Mind
- Giga Drain
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Psychic

Didn't have a grass type on the team and I really wanted one because leech seed farmed me hard without one. Also I wanted a decent special attacker. Not much to say here.

I'm still learning the intricacies of this metagame to be honest but I wanted to see how well I could do without using other people's teams. I don't mind losing to learn and going through trial and error. This team's gone through a lot of changes since I first made it, and the problem with that, is that sometimes you go into a rabbit hole and forget why you did half of the things you did to begin with. Originally I lead with CB slaking lol

Would love some fresh/experienced eyes on this one, tysm to anyone willing to help <3
