* Choice Band Scizor is a strong threat that can deal with some of the biggest metagame threats such as Iron Valiant, Hoopa-U, and Primarina.
* Bullet Punch hits Alolan Ninetales, Diancie, Iron Valiant, and Primarina.
* Bug Bite is important for non-Fire Punch Hoopa-U, Ogerpon-W, and Serperior.
* Close Combat can hit opposing Steel-type Pokemon like non-Chople Berry Hisuian Goodra and Registeel.
* Knock Off is good coverage for Ghost-type Pokemon such as Spectrier.
* The HP EVs allow Scizor to survive a Choice Band Hyperspace Fury from Jolly Hoopa-U, while the Special Defense allows it to live a Hex from Life Orb Spectrier after one turn of burn damage and after its Life Orb has been removed by Knock Off.
* Scizor naturally struggles against Fire-types such as Volcarona, Skeledirge, and Volcanion, as well as physical tanks such as Landorus-T, Ursaluna, and Urshifu-R, so strong special attackers like Walking Wake and Manaphy make for excellent partners.
