Choice Band U-turn allows Scizor to utilize its potential as a pivot while dealing heavy damage. Bullet Punch, threatens faster targets such as Mega Diancie, Tyranitar and Serperior while giving Scizor the ability to function as a late-game sweeper. Pursuit takes advantage of the switches Scizor forces to potentially trap or severely weaken Pokemon like Latias, Slowbro, and Mega Alakazam. Choice Band Scizor's last move is quite flexible. Knock Off allows Scizor to hit both Zapdos and Cofagrigus, as well as help out its partners by removing Rocky Helmet from targets like Skarmory and Landorus-T. Superpower hits Steel-types such as Magnezone and Heatran both of which are major threats to Scizor and are OHKOed by it. Lastly, Quick Attack is an alternative priority move that hits Steel-resistant targets like Volcarona and Manaphy.

Set Details
=========

252 Attack EVs maximize Scizor's damage output, making it as much of threat as possible. 136 Speed is a notable benchmark, as this outspeeds maximum Speed Adamant Azumarill as well as Alomomola, Skarmory, defensive Volcanion, specially defensive Heatran, and Mega Venusaur. The HP investment gives Scizor bulk, allowing it to switch into Psychic-types like Mega Alakazam and Latios and Pursuit trap them. Technician is the ability of choice, optimizing Scizor’s damage output. An alternative spread of 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe allows Scizor to outspeed Adamant Tyranitar, defensive Landorus-T, Cresselia, and Rotom-W. Choice Band provides it with the necessary power to break through targets.

Usage Tips
=========

During the early- and mid-game, Scizor can use U-turn to weaken its checks like Magnezone, Heatran, and Rotom-W and create momentum. Since it lacks the option to heal itself, Rocky Helmet users like Garchomp, Landorus-T, and Zapdos should be avoided. In some cases, it is advantageous to preserve Scizor’s HP to be able to effectively Pursuit trap targets like Mega Alakazam or Latios. Scizor can also attempt to sweep with Bullet Punch late-game. Knock Off is helpful to remove items like Leftovers and Rocky Helmet from foes such as Landorus-T, Slowbro, and Skarmory. Additionally, Scizor can take advantage of predicting a switch to checks like Magnezone or Heatran and hit them with Superpower.

Team Options
=========

Choice Band Scizor fits best on bulky offense teams. It's a strong pivot that allows a team to keep up the pressure but lacks recovery, so it is not good for teams that prefer long fights. Since Scizor can Pursuit trap Psychic-types, it synergizes with Fighting-types like Mega Medicham, Mega Gallade, and Keldeo. Keldeo especially benefits from Scizor being able to threaten or chip down Grass-types such as non-Hidden Power Fire Serperior, Amoonguss, and Ferrothorn. Weavile threatens Zapdos, Garchomp, and Landorus-T, all of which threaten Scizor with their attacks, as well as status and damage from their abilities and Rocky Helmet. Tyranitar works in a similar way; additionally, it takes Fire-type moves well and threatens Zapdos, Garchomp, and Landorus-T; the latter two only when running Ice Punch, however. Volcanion is another option that resists Fire-type moves and fits well in offensive teams.

  • Knock Off is an important first option for zapdos and cofa, and then also nice in the skarm mu long term
  • QA is added as it is a good alternative priority option. For example, on a Volcarona or a Manaphy
  • I think the speed is always preferred. 136 Speed is the minimum as this outspeeds max speed adamant Azumarill, important for BD / CB mu. This also includes outspeed Alomomola, Skarmory, Volcanion, specially defensive Heatran, and Mega Venusaur - all which are very important.
  • The alternative is max speed to outspeed max speed CB Tyranitar, Defensive Landorus-Therian, Cresselia, and Rotom-Wash

I took a particularly heavy hand with the "Team Options" section, since the prose was quite muddled. If you have any clarifying questions, please let me know!
