Choiceless Hyper Offence Team

Hey, I wanted to make a Hyper offence team because I always used balanced teams and it got a bit boring. My plan in creating this team was to use many threats, but not having to switch much, because most fast offensive pokemon are quite frail. I therefore decided not to use any choice items, so I am never complete setup-fodder for my opponent. Then, without a fast scarf-user i had to find a way to deal with pokemon that were very fast naturally or got to +1 anyway. Therefore I decided to use two powerful pokemon with strong priority moves. Here is my team: thanks in advance for looking at it / rating it.

386-d.png

Deoxys-D @ Mental Herb
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes
- Taunt
- Magic Coat

Deoxys-D in a hyper offence team does not surprise anyone anymore. He sets up all hazards or dies trying. Taunt for slower opposing pokemon with either setup moves or rocks of their own. I use Magic Coat for fast taunt users or pokemon that try to put me to sleep. This does mean I am completely useless against Xatu or Espeon though, and I will usually try to bait them out to get a setup opportunity. Item is Mental Herb for when I mispredict and get taunted. EV's are for maximum speed and bulk.

94-frame1.png

Gengar @ Black Sludge
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Substitute
- Pain Split
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast

Gengar is used to stop opponents from spinning my precious hazards away. Subsplit is used for some valuable durability. It is also very powerful though, and if he is behind a sub, he is very threatening. As long as he doesn't miss his focus blast, that is... Shadow Ball and focus blast give great coverage, and EV's maximize offensive potential.

lucario-330697.jpg

Lucario @ Life Orb
Ability: Justified
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Extremespeed
- Close Combat
- Bullet Punch

My first priority user, and a single unresisted Extremespeed is usually enough to kill most frail setup or scarf pokemon after hazard damage. After a Swords Dance it becomes very difficult to stop. Close combat to destroy anything it naturally outspeeds, and bullet punch for extra coverage, such as Gengar or Terrakion. I chose an adamant nature to get some extra power behind my unboosted priority, which is very important for this team. It still has some decent speed though, and can outspeed any non-scarf Heatran and CC it to oblivion.

286.png

Breloom @ Life Orb
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Spore
- Mach Punch
- Low Sweep
- Bullet Seed

My second priority user. Breloom packs a powerful mach punch after technician and STAB are factored in. It has an Adamant nature for the same reason as Lucario, to have a more powerful priority attack. Spore to put opponents to sleep. Once the opponent is put to sleep and I predict a switch, I use Low Sweep to dent something and lower its speed. Then it falls prey to either another Low Sweep or a Bullet Seed. Bullet Seed is also extremely useful for breking substitutes or sashes.

Jolteon_by_Rikachan3.png

Jolteon @ Expertbelt
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Volt Switch
- Thunderbolt
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power Ice

Jolteon is my fastest pokemon, and outspeed almost any other non-scarf pokemon. It can easily lure in Gliscor and Landorus because Jolteon just screams it's Choiced, especially if i go directly for a Volt Switch. Volt Switch is usually only used if Jolteon is really important and i have to preserve it, or if i predict a Gliscor switch-in. Thunderbolt is used if i want to stay in. Shadow Ball is for extra coverage, such as Lati@s. HP Ice destroys Gliscor, Landorus and dragons. Gliscor is very annoying to the majority of my team, so having it removed is really beneficial. I chose a Timid nature because becoming the fastest pokemon is very important for Jolteon.

639.png

Terrakion @ Life Orb
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- Swords Dance
- Rock Polish

This is the standard Double Dance set for terrakion, and after a single Swords Dance, nothing wants to stand in front of it. Rock Polish is used if there are a few faster pokemon left on my opponents team. EV's to maximize physical strength and speed. Jolly nature because it needs all the speed it can get to have an opportunity for a Swords Dance sweep.

Thank you very much for reading, and do with my team whatever you like.

Hey there!

This team might have some major problems handling Rock Polish Sheer Force Landorus-I. It can set up easily against Deoxys-D and then proceed to OHKO your entire team with Earth Power / Psychic. Lucario's ESpeed doesn't even do 50%, and Deo-D can't touch Lando- making it a huge unstopable threat. In fact, most opponents with powerful Psychic type moves can muscle last Deo-D because it lacks recovery / offensive attacks. This makes Lati@s, Alakazam, Starmie, and Reuniclus big threats- as Gengar, Loom, Luc, and Terrakion are all OHKO'd with the appropriate STAB move. It seems as if Lucario is the base of a lot of these problems. Lucario adds on extra Psychic / Ground type frailty, yet it doesn't defeat any more threats that Loom / Terrak don't already cover. I think a better pokemon for Lucario's spot would be Choice Banded Scizor.

212.gif

Scizor @ Choice Band
Adamant / 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Spe
Bullet Punch / U-Turn / Pursuit / Superpower

Scizor can defeat Landorus-I one on one and can trap and kill Psychic types- which is a huge positive trait that Lucario can not do. Scizor also provides powerful, fast attacks- capable of dealing a lot of damage to opponents without needing to set up. It can also pivot, sponge attacks, and revenge kill with more power than unboosted Lucario. Bullet Punch is STAB and can be used to revenge kill things. U-Turn lets you pivot and KO Psychic / Datk types. Pursuit traps Psychics / Ghosts. Superpower hits steels like Magnezone, but you probably won't need it much.

However, one problem still goes unfixed- Sun. QD Volcarona with Giga Drain can KO your whole team after a QD even without Sun up. Venasaur is a bit easier to handle now that you have Scizor but it can still be quite a big threat. You can try Choice Scarf Terrakion over your current Terrakion to mitigate this problem. CS Terrak can come in on Volc's QD and still outspeed for the OHKO with Stone Edge. Although you've said that you dislike scarfers, I really really suggest you try Terrakion, because it does revenge kill numerous threats in the metagame.

With the inclusion of Scarf Terrakion, you lack setup sweepers, so I'd try Swords Dance over Low Sweep on Breloom. This lets you set up and hit hard and fast- opening up holes early game or cleaning up late game.

Nice team! I hope I helped!

Thank you very much for taking the time to reply to me. I see that Scizor provides good synergy with my team, but there is a big problem with it's Bullet Punch. If i lock myself into Bullet Punch, any pokemon that resists it has a free setup turn, which can prove devastating for my team. Would a Swords Dance set maybe work out better?

As for Volcarona, I don't think it will be a huge problem. Assuming rocks are down, it already loses 50% health on switch in. If I then fire off even a resisted attack as it Quiver Dance's, it will be easily in range for a priority move to KO it. If I do not have rocks down, my team isn't going to win much anyway.

I do think Scarf Terrakion is a good addition. I have used it before and it really does destroy many things. Seeing as I don't really find many opporunity's for my current Terrakion to set up, I think I will be better off with a scarf one. This also makes SD a useful change to Breloom, since the only reason I left it out was because I had enough pokemon to set up with already.

But Bullet Punch is also meant for stopping things that are at +1 speed. Which leaves me vulnerable for the next thing that comes in and sets up. This keeps me on the back foot the entire match, which really hurts this team.

there are relatively few things that resist Bullet Punch (Electric, Steel, Water, Fire) AND that can set up on Scizor in OU. Most water types in OU are choiced / bulky, and Jirachi / Lucario are the only steel types that set up, neither of which are very big threats. Volcarona is the only fire type, but you said you already have it covered. Thundurus-T is the only electric type, but again you have Jolteon and Terrakion, both of whom can KO it. I don't think being locked into move is going to hurt you much.

tldr there are very few things that can set up on CB Scizor's bullet punch, and your team is weak to none of them.
