Hey, I wanted to make a Hyper offence team because I always used balanced teams and it got a bit boring. My plan in creating this team was to use many threats, but not having to switch much, because most fast offensive pokemon are quite frail. I therefore decided not to use any choice items, so I am never complete setup-fodder for my opponent. Then, without a fast scarf-user i had to find a way to deal with pokemon that were very fast naturally or got to +1 anyway. Therefore I decided to use two powerful pokemon with strong priority moves. Here is my team: thanks in advance for looking at it / rating it.
Deoxys-D @ Mental Herb
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes
- Taunt
- Magic Coat
Deoxys-D in a hyper offence team does not surprise anyone anymore. He sets up all hazards or dies trying. Taunt for slower opposing pokemon with either setup moves or rocks of their own. I use Magic Coat for fast taunt users or pokemon that try to put me to sleep. This does mean I am completely useless against Xatu or Espeon though, and I will usually try to bait them out to get a setup opportunity. Item is Mental Herb for when I mispredict and get taunted. EV's are for maximum speed and bulk.
Gengar @ Black Sludge
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Substitute
- Pain Split
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast
Gengar is used to stop opponents from spinning my precious hazards away. Subsplit is used for some valuable durability. It is also very powerful though, and if he is behind a sub, he is very threatening. As long as he doesn't miss his focus blast, that is... Shadow Ball and focus blast give great coverage, and EV's maximize offensive potential.
Lucario @ Life Orb
Ability: Justified
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Extremespeed
- Close Combat
- Bullet Punch
My first priority user, and a single unresisted Extremespeed is usually enough to kill most frail setup or scarf pokemon after hazard damage. After a Swords Dance it becomes very difficult to stop. Close combat to destroy anything it naturally outspeeds, and bullet punch for extra coverage, such as Gengar or Terrakion. I chose an adamant nature to get some extra power behind my unboosted priority, which is very important for this team. It still has some decent speed though, and can outspeed any non-scarf Heatran and CC it to oblivion.
Breloom @ Life Orb
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Spore
- Mach Punch
- Low Sweep
- Bullet Seed
My second priority user. Breloom packs a powerful mach punch after technician and STAB are factored in. It has an Adamant nature for the same reason as Lucario, to have a more powerful priority attack. Spore to put opponents to sleep. Once the opponent is put to sleep and I predict a switch, I use Low Sweep to dent something and lower its speed. Then it falls prey to either another Low Sweep or a Bullet Seed. Bullet Seed is also extremely useful for breking substitutes or sashes.
Jolteon @ Expertbelt
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Volt Switch
- Thunderbolt
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power Ice
Jolteon is my fastest pokemon, and outspeed almost any other non-scarf pokemon. It can easily lure in Gliscor and Landorus because Jolteon just screams it's Choiced, especially if i go directly for a Volt Switch. Volt Switch is usually only used if Jolteon is really important and i have to preserve it, or if i predict a Gliscor switch-in. Thunderbolt is used if i want to stay in. Shadow Ball is for extra coverage, such as Lati@s. HP Ice destroys Gliscor, Landorus and dragons. Gliscor is very annoying to the majority of my team, so having it removed is really beneficial. I chose a Timid nature because becoming the fastest pokemon is very important for Jolteon.
Terrakion @ Life Orb
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- Swords Dance
- Rock Polish
This is the standard Double Dance set for terrakion, and after a single Swords Dance, nothing wants to stand in front of it. Rock Polish is used if there are a few faster pokemon left on my opponents team. EV's to maximize physical strength and speed. Jolly nature because it needs all the speed it can get to have an opportunity for a Swords Dance sweep.
Thank you very much for reading, and do with my team whatever you like.
