This project started as part of an effort to recreate historic replays for a TFP article. Originally, get backer and myself were going to manually roll RNG seeds until we got as close as possible to the original, which is extremely laughable when the very first battle we had queued up was a relatively short 31-turn ADV game that would have to account for a Hypnosis miss then hit, a three-turn sleep, a Hidden Power crit, and various other Hypnosis and Leech Seed hits. Fortunately, Vertigo had the idea to manually construct battle logs in an HTML viewer, then Hecate was able to perform wizardry and witchcraft to upload them manually to the replay database, making them viewable for everyone without having to dig up and read logs. This is the product of about two straight months worth of work.

Obviously, this archive is by no means complete! This is still a work in progress as we speak and we'll be adding new replays as we finish them. There are also a lot of logs that we simply don't have, that aren't publicly accessible or seem lost to the sands of time, so attached below is our wishlist of trophy finals games to add to this archive. These can come in the form of logs or YouTube videos of the battle, we've reconstructed from both. If you have any of these - or even any other battle logs you think are worth restoring, including deep rounds of official tournaments, official team tournament games, or any other battles between notable players - then please do absolutely do send them to one of us, either in a forum DM or on Discord (you can find me on Discord at calliphaea).

Disclaimer: These replays are not 100% accurate to the live battles. These replays were reconstructed based on text and sometimes video logs where exact percentages weren't always given, spreads were unknown, and there were a number of glitches in the old battle simulators to account for. Additionally, we recreated these manually from scratch, and there is a lot that goes into that (battles averaged out around 500 lines of handwritten battle protocols, with our longest to date being 867), so there's likely to be some human error in here, including typos, missing messages (i.e. supereffective damage messages, PP counts, and weather upkeep messages), and slight fudging of numbers to account for the aforementioned challenges. Despite all of this, we hope you all enjoy the archive!

The archive currently contains 100 restored replays and hopefully counting!
