Welcome Smogon! I have been battling for quite a while and I've lost my muse in OU. I found that the teir has become really boring and other teirs were like an adventure. I regained my intrests in LC and RU. I joined the teirs of UU and Ubers, but I could not find any real fun in OU. Everyone used the same couple of Pokemon and some weren't used really at all. Everyone used dragons. I thought to myself, what If I could Kill everyone's Dragons. There would be no boring sweeps from Dragonite, Salamance, Garchomp, or the rarer Haxorus. Looking through the teir list for OU, I found my eyes on an Ice type that made my dreams come true. It didn't have to just rely on sash and smash. It had a Choice Band and the attack Ice Shard. The Mamoswine would murder the dreaded dragons and allow me to begin a new team in OU. One where I find some new and old tactics. I never thought that I would use Celebi, Mamoswine, or Gengar, but I found myself wrong. Now, a true battle arises and the Dragons and my bounty hunters clash at the summit of battle.

I found a lot of success in CeleTran, a new core I hadn't tried. Gengar to me was SubDisable and SubDisable only, but I found a +3 attack variant working for me. I haven't played around with the team too much, but I have even found success in battling with Corona, a good friend who got me hooked on competative battling to an extent (He was playing PO and I was like I will download it and battle you. Then I just played regularly.). The first battle I played against him was 2-0 and It was my loss but the second battle came down to a 1-0 win for me with 14% HP with Keldeo Secret Swording a Weavile. The Team is overall a lot of fun and I really need to know what I should change. Thank you all for your time!!

TEAM BUILDING

473.png

Here is my team's all star. He gets rid of all those Dragon types that roam the battle feild. I chose a Choice Band variant because Life Orb tends to kill itself faster, or just make me really frail. That and Choice Band still gives me a huge boost of damage. He has Good coverage so I didn't find a reason not to use Mamoswine. What makes me mad is seeing so many Steel and Dragon Types. I find that both of these types are over rated to an extent. So why not try to get rid of both types? I know that to an extent that isn't possible with Skarmory and Ferrothorn being really sturdy physical walls and Mamoswine just has heavy attack. Back to the main point, Ground and Ice gets super effective damage to many threats such as Landerous, Dragonite, Garchomp, Gliscor, Heatran, Jirachi, and most importantly Salamance. Mamoswine may be slow to the chase, but Ice Shard makes sure I can OHKO most Dragons and 252 Spe and Jolly Nature can get rid of some defensive steel types.

251.png

I made note of a fighting and water type weakness as soon as I attempted to use Mamoswine. He has a Steel weakness, but I decided to wait until later to start covering that weakness. First things first, I decided I should run a hyper offensive sand team. So, I though Nasty Plot Celebi would be a good way to cover some of my weaknesses and it has a lot of viable recovery. Since I wanted to run a sandstorm team, I thought using Giga Drain and Recover on the same set with Leftovers would make Celebi last as long as possible. I noted to myself that Mamoswine may not be able to defeat certain steel types and Celebi will have problems with a Heatran, so I threw in Earth Power. Celebi is up to change, but now it still is effective.

473.png
251.png
647.png

Terrakion and Steel type Pokemon will serve a lot of trouble to Mamoswine. There is no doubt about this. So, I needed something fast and strong to get rid of some more pressure to Mamoswine. Keldeo and Celebi help put a lot of pressure on rain teams with their resistance to water type attacks. Hurricane users will serve some issure, but Hurricane shouldn't matter too much considering the main users are Volcarona and Dragonite, which can be defeated by Mamoswine through Stone Edge and Ice Shard respectivly. Keldeo is a nice addition to any sand team because he can set up and wreck opponent's rain teams as long as Keldeo's HP is relativly high. Even without Drizzle, Surf hits like a truck at +1 let alone +2. I noticed a huge weakness to Latias and other Calm Mind users. Keldeo and Celebi will have too much trouble fighting off these monsters. Its the fact that they are really fast and have high offensive special stats.

473.png
251.png
647.png
248.png

A Tyranitar with Choice Band solves this Calm Mind issue. I no longer have to worry about Latias and Latios too much with a hard Pursuit going through their face. Tyranitar is bulky, hits hard, and has good coverage in the attacks he has, so there is no reason to not use him as a wall breaker. He can beat some key threats that the team is weak to so overall, I don't have much problems with using him. Also he is the only real offensive Sandstream user.

Chandelure looked amazing to use. He is a decent counter to sun teams and he is a good spin blocker. He also gets rid of the huge Fighting weakness. There isn't many good special attacking ghost types so he is only one of my natural choices. Chandelure can set up substitute and wreck teams with his multiple special attacks so I had no problems with him. On facebook, myself and a couple friends fought if I should use Heatran and Gengar on the team so, I finally gave in to their advice.

Gengar sets up substitute and can hit many things hard with his blazing speed and high special attack. Heatran serves as a Sun team counter and finishes off the team with his many resistances. Together, they can do whatever Chandelure could dream of doing so there is no real point in not using these two. They have good synergy and thats what counts. Gengar lets me have immunity to fighting type attacks so overall, I am fine with using these two. The major reason I do use these two is because Chrona and I got in an arguement on using them. I was planning on using Chandelure and Latios but Gengar and Heatran do the job better.
IN DEPTH

473.png

Permafrost @ Choice Band
Trait: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Ice Shard
- Icicle Spear
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge

Breaking Subs, Dragons, and specially defensive steel types, Mamoswine can check a variaty of threats. He gets rid of the Troublesome Dragonite and Volcarona and the stalling Heatran and Jirachi. Rock and Ground coverage is the standard I set for the Mamoswine to have and the Ice stab attacks add much needed coverage for my wall breaker. I tend to use my Mamoswine as a revenge killer so to speak. He almost always gets his job done. Its nice to know that Dragon Types don't really have priority attacks so it creates a safe barrier for my Ice Shard to hit these Dragons.

251.png

Terraforming @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Earth Power
- Recover
- Nasty Plot
- Giga Drain

Beating Rain and sand alike, Celebi finds his home abusing his massive healing moves and sweeping after a single Nasty Plot. Celebi with Nasty Plot makes rain teams quiver. That and Giga Drain is a massive stab. Sun teams are really hard for Celebi hers so, Earth Power does the job well. Sand comes with loss of HP, so having Leftovers, Giga Drain, and Recover on this set makes Celebi a safe attacker. I never really played with Celebi before and I don't know much about what Celebi is more effective so help would be useful! I just find that his speed is low so I tend to sweep safely with Keldeo.

647.png

Our Last Hope @ Leftovers
Trait: Justified
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Timid Nature
- Calm Mind
- Substitute
- Secret Sword
- Surf

Sword fighting steed behind a rock doll sounds a bit absurd at first glance, but when it murders your team, you can only go home crying. Keldeo serves as a late game cleaner and sweeper. Keldeo is my favorite Pokemon and he synergizes well with Tyranitar. What really makes Keldeo most useful on this team is Substitute. It allows multiple Calm Minds and Leftovers can counter the Sandstorm damage so his sweep can be a lot longer. I find that he works well against sand and rain teams. Tyranitar can't stand his Secret Sword and surf makes a pain in the neck once your at +1 STAB and Drizzle boosted. He just needs a little support for Jellicent and he is all fair game.

248.png

Armageddon @ Choice Band
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Stone Edge
- Pursuit
- Crunch
- Superpower

The Tyranitar that allows me to get rid of the Lati twins. Most importantly, He defeats the ever present stall warts. He can beat Reniclus, Deoxys Defense, Heatran, Jirachi, and Blissey. I love using a bulkier Tyranitar so a lot of HP and the rest of my evs put in special defense after max Attack makes Tyranitar has decent bulk (considering Sandstorm will allow x1.5 Special defense). This Tyranitar allows me to beat the all time threatening Kyurem-B and Cloyster. When it comes to

94.png

Author Of All Sin @ Black Sludge
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Substitute
- Sludge Bomb
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast

Gengar serves as a spin blocker and special sweeper. Even without a boost, Gengar can check a variaty of threats. Substitute allows Gengar to last as long as possible and Focus Blast and Shadow Ball lets me hit the majority of all threats for neutral damage. I used Sludge Bomb because Chancy and Blissey can get posioned so I can stall her out if the threat comes up and grass Pokemon will fail to Gengar. Disable seemed lack luster due to taunt so Sub+3 attack Gengar leaves me with reliability and a good damage output.
485.png

The Last Stand @ Leftovers
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Modest Nature
- Earth Power
- Fire Blast
- Substitute
- Hidden Power [Ice]

I also like using Substitute on Heatran as well. Hidden Power Ice lets me hit most Dragons hard, plus there is a Dragon resist on Heatran. Heatran lets my team have a counter to Sun. Earth Power is to defeat other Heatran and Fire Blast is the STAB of choice. Maximum special attack lets me hit furiously and this molten dog will secure some needed OHKOs to things like Ferrothorn. Heatran even covers a good majority of my weaknesses. He covers almost all of Gengar and Celebi's weaknesses. Even the rare hail teams have problems with this beast.

CLOSING WORDS

Thank you for reading through my RMT. I am sorry to those before who saw a half finished page. I accidently hit Submit New Thread before finishing. Please rate the team with as much constructive chritisicm as you feel needed. I find that this team is one of my favorites so far so I want it to be as epic as possible! Have a good day and Dungeons is out!

Hey!

Solid looking team so far. I like your combination of CB Ttar + NP Celebi + Sub CM Keldeo. Looks pretty strong, and I might have to try it myself sometime. I think there are a couple good changes you can and should make that will make your team a more efficient unit. Gengar is usually only useful for offensive spin blocking, but as it stands you have no hazards at all. Heatran isn't a very good sub-sweeper this gen. You also need Stealth Rock somewhere since it limits every type of team out there.

First, I think you should remove the Choice Band from Mamoswine in exchange for Icicle Plate or Life Orb. I hate Choice Band on Mamoswine because Earthquake is such a bad move to be locked into, and Ice moves aren't far behind. There are too many defensive Steels. I think the power you forfeit will be nominal when compared to the ability to change moves and even bluff a Choice item. Choice Band is often very prediction heavy too, and whenever possible I like to avoid making risky plays. Furthermore, I would recommend you change Stone Edge to Stealth Rock. You don't lose a lot of coverage without Stone Edge, and Stealth Rock is one of the best moves in the game. You almost can't not have it.

Next, on Celebi, I think you might want to try Psychic over Giga Drain. You have a very offensive Celebi, and Giga Drain is kind of weak. At +2, STAB Psychic is a much superior sweeping and coverage move. You won't be walled by Dragons and other Flying types either. Psychic hits incredibly hard, and aside from the extra HP recovery, Psychic is the all around better move. It's coverage when paired with Earth Power is also better, so I can't see a reason not to use it.

On Tyranitar, you should run at least 100 Speed EVs, and I'd recommend 108 EVs personally. I like to Speed creep other Tyranitar and the things that aim to barely beat standard Skarmory. At the very least, you'll want to make sure you can outspeed standard Jellicent before it uses Will-o-Wisp and ruins your fun.

Next, I think Keldeo would be better suited as a Choice Scarf user. You should choose between Celebi and Keldeo as your main sweeper to focus the team around, and I think Celebi is the better choice. Keldeo is arguably the best Choice Scarf user in the game too, and it doubles as a decent sweeper. Rain teams hate fighting a Scarf Keldeo with boosted Water moves, and there are very few Speed boosting sweepers that don't care about Keldeo.

Finally, Gengar looks a little out of place to me. If you like it a lot, feel free to keep it, but you could also try RP Landorus, just with U-turn instead of Rock Polish. Excellent sand wall breaker, and it lures out stuff for CB Tyranitar to kill. It attracts stuff like Celebi and Latias, and with those gone, Keldeo and Celebi are going to have a field day.

Good luck!

Thanks a lot for the rate! I choose Giga Drain mainly for the recovering HP., but I get where your coming from. Scarf Keldeo is an option, but when it comes down to it, Im not sure of it. Jellicent and Dragons are my worry. I think Icy Wind won't help too much but Ill try it. Im not going to put stealth rock on Mamoswine though. Its too frail and it would be a waste of a turn to me. Maybe on heatran over sub. Im not quite certain about Gengar either so a change may be of use. Ill think about switching him for Landerous. Thank you!

Sludge bomb is not that powerful of a skill in my opinion. Your better off with HP Fire on Gengar as it also covers Steel + Grass. Although you have Focus Blast, I would use HP Ice or Electric

Flamethrower or Lava Plume or Overheat seem to be better than Fire Blast if you are going 1 Fire attack on Heatran. The former two have 100% accuracy which technically allows higher damage output as Fire Blast can be unreliable. Overheat can also be another choice as it does higher damage with higher accuracy but the -2 SpA can be a drawback.

Those are my 2 cents and good luck with the team!

I support most of what Undisputed suggested. Jellicent is pretty easily dispatched of with Celebi + Tyranitar and Dragons are checked quite handily with Life Orb Mamoswine Ice Shard. Scarf Keldeo can act as your second check to these things as well as check big threats like Volcarona and Terrakion without having to play nifty to take out those threats. Celebi helps get rid of Bulky Waters and does well on its own vs Ferrothorn and Celebi. I would suggest HP-Fire over Earth Power if you do change to Scarf Keldeo. Nothing on your team is really weak to Heatran as they either outspeed or don't take much damage from its attacks. This will allow Celebi to easily handle Scizor, Ferrothorn and most other bulky grass types that hinder your team greatly. With Scarf Keldeo you can get away with not having a move to prevent Dragonite and Co. from setting up as you can just revenge it with your strong attacks.

Keldeo @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Justified
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Surf
- Secret Sword
- Hidden Power [Ice]

I would also like you to take out Gengar for something else. Currently, you don't even have any hazards to prevent spinning and I don't really like Gengar on this team anyway as you can't heal off the substitute damage due to sandstorm. I support Undisputed's suggestion for a Special Landorus over Gengar. Landorus is one of the best Pokemon in the game right now and most definitely one of the hardest hitters. Landorus also baits pokemon such as Latios and Celebi into switching in which are dispatched of pretty easily with Tyranitar by predicting a nice U-turn into Tyranitar. U-turn does alot with Landorus' naturally strong Attack and it is a good scouting move as well. Sheer Force boosted Earth Powers and Focus Blasts do insane damage do much of the metagame and your team is set up to help dispatch of those that can handle Landorus' strong attacks. You also don't take Life Orb damage when you use those moves which is pretty cool.

Landorus (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Sheer Force
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd (put 4 EVs into Defense if you run Timid)
Naive Nature (or Timid if you dont want to run U-turn)
- Earth Power
- Focus Blast
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- U-turn / Rock Polish

For additional comments, I would, again, support undisputed's suggestion of Stealth Rock > Stone Edge on Mamoswine. Stealth Rock allows you to achieve some pretty noticeable 2HKOs and OHKOs from much of your team and you will for sure find opportunities to get Stealth Rock up for free with Mamoswine. I also support the standard EV spread for Tyranitar. Outspeeding Jellicent is very very smart as a burned Tyranitar is pretty useless for what you want to accomplish with it -- breaking stall and beating down Keldeo and hopefully!!!! Landorus' counters. For Heatran I want to suggest a Specially Defensive Heatran as it is simply a better set for this metagame and for your team as well. Heatran is one of your main checks to sun and it can better take Venusaur and Volcarona's repeated attacks as well as not be totally useless versus rain teams. You can tank Latios' Draco Meteors in a pinch as well. Under rain you can still handle Ferrothorn and most Celebi with this set as well as Toxic whatever would switch in on you, namely Politoed. Earth Power handles Tentacruel and opposing Heatran. You can also set up Stealth Rock with this Heatran if you don't want to put it on Mamoswine, however I would still suggest it on Mamoswine if possible. The suggestion for a Specially Defensive Heatran isn't totally needed and you don't have to change it (I would still test it and see what works best), however, I would suggest you change your EV spread to 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd @ Timid just so you can tie with most offensive Heatran on Sun Teams and always beat Breloom and adamant Dragonite / Mamoswine in a pinch.

Heatran @ Leftovers
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SDef / 8 Spd
Calm Nature
- Lava Plume
- Earth Power
- Toxic / Will-o-Wisp / Stealth Rock
- Protect

This is an excellent team and with the suggested changes it is one of the better ones I've seen in BW2. Good luck with your team :)

Thanks Joshe and Teemo! Im going to change Heatran to specially defensive with stealth rock. I just don' get why you would give something with little defenses ,compaired to a sturdy heatran, stealth rock. Scarf Keldeo does look good, but Jellicent is still an issue for me. Its not too horrible yes, but I just don't like nasty prediction. However, thats where Celebi comes in. For the most part, I am going to run lava plume on Heatran. It lets it take some of the hits better. I remember the other day my friend will-o-wisped my TTar and I got sooo mad (not really :)) But it hurt my attack bad. So, adding speed is a good option to take. I will use this Landerous. It doesn't have redundant synergy like celebi does ( celebi + gengar + heatran.) I guess. Its the fact that Gengar is fast! Is there a physical variant to this landerous? I really need another physical attacker on this team... Thanks again for the rates! :D
