Old coffin's back and still effective in UU; been a Cofagrigus expert for a long time so I've got a grasp on what this ancient mon can do.

Overview
########
  • Very bulky and possesses a nice Ghost typing
  • Packs a fairly important set of resistances
  • Has Trick Room and Nasty Plot, which complement its stats perfectly
  • Can take on a number of attackers like Mienshao and Heracross and sweep simultaneously
  • Mummy is a great ability to nullify common abilities like Moxie
  • Can be a proficient spinblocker, only fearing Mega Blastoise with Dark Pulse
  • Very crippling weaknesses in a tier where Dark-types are quite common
  • Slow and has no recovery, so easily suspectible to hazards and repeated assaults
  • Faces competition as a bulky Ghost from Trevenant and Gourgeist
  • Nonetheless, its bulk, typing, and sweeping abilities make it a good bulky Ghost-type that can fulfill its duties

Offensive Trick Room
########
name: Offensive Trick Room
move 1: Trick Room
move 2: Nasty Plot
move 3: Shadow Ball
move 4: Hidden Power Fighting
ability: Mummy
item: Leftovers
evs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpA
nature: Quiet
ivs: 2 Spe

Moves
========
  • Trick Room patches up Cofagrigus's lack of speed
  • Nasty Plot boosts Cofagrigus's Special Attack to frightening levels
  • Shadow Ball is strong, reliable STAB
  • Hidden Power Fighting provides near perfect coverage
  • (possibly considering adding D-bond here, thoughts?)

Set Details
========
  • Maximizes bulk and power to be able to use TR+NP with
  • Lowers Speed enough for TR and to get an HP Fighting IV Value
  • Quiet Nature for same reasons
  • Leftovers gives passive recovery

Usage Tips
========
  • Is a special sweeper that can sweep and check threats
  • Also serves as a nice bulky spinblocker that provides an offensive presence
  • Switch it into something like Mienshao or Heracross
  • Be wary of Knock Off

Team Options
========
  • Hazards from the likes of Roserade, Chesnaught, or Froslass is helpful to help it sweep
  • Something like Snorlax is helpful to beat Hydreigon and Mega Houndoom
  • Heracross or Mienshao can do the same

Other Options
########
  • Will-O-Wisp
  • Pain Split
  • Energy Ball
  • A defensive set with WoW, Haze, and Pain Split is usable but it's not worth using over Trevenant
  • Calm Mind
  • Infestation
  • Toxic
  • Generally very dismal movepool

Checks and Counters
########
  • Mega Houndoom
  • Hydreigon
  • Goodra
  • Blissey
  • Snorlax
  • Krookodile
  • Honchkrow
  • Porygon2

I know this is just a WIP, but I think Will-O-Wisp deserves a slash on the Offensive Trick Room set because it's a great way to cripple pokemon that would try to Sucker Punch you. If not a slash, then maybe just a mention.

Okay I got myself some time to get this completed, so I guess this should be ready. I'm also hesitant about adding Will-O-Wisp because it does nothing to help it against Hydreigon and also leaves it really suspectible to Mega Houndoom.

honchkrow in counters

calm mind in oo

don't add dbond or wisp on the set because you're either giving up power or "speed" or coverage which are all needed

qc 1/3

i've had success in the pre-blissey era running toxic spikes or destiny bond over hp fighting. tbh, hp fighting isn't going to be doing loads to blissey anyway, and it sort of just wins with toxic. maybe consider slashing these?
