Calm Mind (HP) (Sinistcha) @ Heavy-Duty Boots / Leftovers
Ability: Heatproof
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Matcha Gotcha
- Shadow Ball
- Strength Sap

Sinistcha leverages its fantastic bulk, typing, and longevity to function as both a resilient wall and a potent late-game win condition with Calm Mind. Matcha Gotcha and Shadow Ball provide reliable STAB coverage, allowing it to wear down opponents while staying healthy. Strength Sap further enhances its survivability while effectively neutralizing physical attackers. Heavy-Duty Boots ensures Sinistcha remains a consistent presence throughout the match by negating entry hazard damage, while Leftovers is an alternative option to further enhance its longevity. Heatproof is particularly valuable, letting Sinistcha comfortably handle Fire-types such as Iron Moth while also synergizing well with Tera Steel, which is chosen to flip the Flying- and Ice-type weaknesses into resistances while also being a generally good defensive typing.

Sinistcha appreciates Gods with high HP stats, such as Eternatus and Arceus, which further amplify Sinistcha’s defensive capabilities, making it even more difficult to break. In return, Sinistcha is able to spinblock Great Tusk, one of the tier’s best forms of hazard removal, keeping hazards up to wear down foes. Therefore, Sinistcha also pairs well with entry hazard setters such as Ting-Lu and Hisuian Samurott, which can consistently set Spikes and Stealth Rock, as well as Knock Off users such as Great Tusk, Ogerpon-W, and Weavile that can remove Heavy-Duty Boots. Also, while Sinistcha has Calm Mind to boost its Special Defense, it can struggle to switch in to powerful special attackers such as Kyurem-White and Eternatus, thus making specially defensive teammates such as the aforementioned Ting Lu and Heatran helpful. Furthermore, Sinistcha is an excellent pick on Sticky Web teams, with Sticky Web allowing it to circumvent its relatively low Speed while Sinistcha helps prevents Sticky Web from going down.

Therefore, Sinistcha also pairs well with entry hazard setters such as Ting-Lu and Hisuian Samurott, which can consistently set Spikes and Stealth Rock, as well as Knock Off users such as Mandibuzz and Great Tusk think it would be better to mention the offensive knockers here, that actually abuse the hazards to set themselves up to win (ig tusk kinda does that, but I'd probably just mention weavile and ogerpon-w, or specify offensive tusk and go like offensive knock tusk + ogerpon-w (or just all 3, up to u) that can remove Heavy-Duty Boots. Also, while Sinistcha has Calm Mind to boost its Special Defense, it can struggle to switch in to powerful special attackers such as Kyurem-White and Eternatus, thus making specially defensive teammates such as the aforementioned Ting Lu and Heatran helpful. Could also mention that it can be unable to slow down sd mons with strength sap, so it would need support to beat for example sd weavile and zacian-c Furthermore, Sinistcha is relatively slow, relying on its bulk and longevity to survive attacks and strike back, although this can be partially supplemented by Sticky Web from Araquanid or Ribombee, which Sinistcha also synergizes with as a spinblocker. I feel like we could emphasise this point more, as cha + webs is a genuine headache for a ton of teams rn and webs are one of the biggest reasons to run cha
