Combo-ing Weavile Sweep

Combination Weavile Sweep

Introduction:
Hey Smogoners, I'm here with my lastest RMT after my last team featuring Mixnape bombed. It won 3-3 like the Stuyvesant Peglegs (insider). Sadly enough, I had to retire my rather lovely team. While scanning Smogon for a cool pokemon to make a team on, I wanted something unusual, but fast and stronger. A dragon-killer if you will. I stepped upon the less used, but still incredibly strong Weavile. It completed the criteria that I demanded.

Indepth Look at:

THE LEAD
260Swampert.png

Zuzu (Swampert) @ Leftovers
252 hp/ 252 Def/ 4 Speed
Relaxed Nature
Torrent Ability
-Stealth Rock
-Ice Beam
-Earthquake
-Roar

Role: Zuzu is primarily my lead and its natural bulk allows it to take many hits. Arguably one of the best leads out there and since not much can take it down. It also serves as my phazer to take out those DD pkmn and SD pkmn. Also to give everyone a healthy dose of Stealth Rock. It resists every hit Swampert can throw at it and strike back with a damn Ice Beam for a OHKO. EQ is for STAB and a decent damage. Roar is to shuffle around the opponent's team scouting the team.

Team Synergy: Resisting Rock and its immunity to Electric automatic makes him a good partner with my Weavile. Also the resistance to the Metal Bug's Bullet Punch adds a huge whoop ass. Naturally Grass goes to my Heatran, Celebi, and/or Gyarados (Depending on pokemon)

Nickname: Zuzu is the swampert owned by Ruby and Zuzu sounds like mad pro so I named it Zuzu.

Combo #1(PHYSICAL BASED)

The Bulky Dragon-like dude
130_s.png

Gyara (Gyarados)@ Leftovers
72 Hp/ 100 Atk/ 84 Def/ 252 Speed
Adamant Nature
Intimidate
-Dragon Dance
-Waterfall
-Ice Fang
-Taunt
Role: This is my Bulky Gyarados with a wierd EV spread, unlike the one on Smogon Strat. Dex because I figured Max Speed was more important while sacrificing some HP ev's. I also increased the atk Ev's to 100 so it can still dent alot of pokemon. The moveset is like the Standard DD and the BulkyGyara set. Instead of Bounce, I used Ice Fang to take care of Celebi since I say no to Bounce.Waterfall is for the obvious stab. Taunt is to get rid of those pesky Status Ailments. Dragon Dance is my favorite up-move since it fckin raises 2 stats at once. 1 DD will outspeed mad shit and 2, i doubt anything could top that.

Team Synergy: Gyarados is the most reliable Scizor wall out there. It can take all its hits with relative ease. Scizor is like the bane of Weavile's existence so Scizor can't stop a Gyarados if its banded. DD the switch. Although it can't take Rock will, my other pkmn can deal with that. Gyarados also takes Weavile's Fighting and Steel weakness relatively well also so Weavile and Gyarados are a fit match.

Nickname: I named it Gyara because Red in the manga named it Gyara as well...so yea.

The Buff Teddy Bear
466Electivire.png

Flash (Electivire) @ Expert Belt
20 Atk/ 252 Sp./ 220 Sp.A
Motor Drive Ability
Mild Nature
-Thunderbolt
-Flamethrower
-Hidden Power Grass
-Cross Chop
Role: I've head so much hate about Electivire so I decided to try it. It worked mad pro like son. In tandem with Gyarados they are a force to be reckon with. Many people hate on how Electivire is only OU because of Motor Drive. Damn...you are wrong. It is like Gyarados equal stat wise. In my eyes, it has better stats all around. With 123 Atk, and a modest 95 Speed it can totally wreck opponent's teams with motor drive on. It can outspeed Salamence and OHKO it with Ice Punch. I chose T-Punch over T-bolt because I felt that abusing its Attack stat was more worth it. Ice punch, eq, and Cross Chop are all for coverage. Expert Belt boosts all my supereffective hits and with Electivire's vast movepool, it can use Expert Belt very effectively.

Team Synergy: This thing might be frail, but its ability along with Gyarados is a force to be reckon with. Sometimes he's my last pokemon to face a brutal team of 3 and somehow he pulls it off. Its ground weakness isn't all too bad, since Gyarados can take all its ground attacks and Electivire can take all Gyarados's elec. hits.

Name: I can't really figure this one out. It was between: Sparky or Flash. Sparky sounds cool. Maybe Mustang!

Combo #2: Defensive Core
The Dome of Lava?
485.png

Explotaro (Heatran) @ Shuca Berry
4 Hp/ 252 Speed/ 252 Sp. A
Flash Fire
Timid Nature
-Substitute
-Toxic
-Fire Blast
-Earth Power
Role: He is my special sweeper with excellent coverage. I pretty sure that Magnezone won't switch in now. Mainly, my Scizor check. I come in on its Bullet Punch and sub on its switch. Proceed to Fire Blast or Earth Power. Heatran's impressive 130 Sp. A causes Fire Blast/ Earth Power to dent alot of pokemon even if they resist it. Substitute is to avoid statuses, like an extra life. Toxic is to stall out the opponent so I don't die. Fire Blast for stab and Earth Power to take out Metagross and other pokemon that resist Fireblast (like other heatran). The only pokemon that i can think of the resist this combination is Gyarados. But Toxic it before I die.

Team Synergy: Heatran is my staller/ Special Sweeper. I must admit however it is very slow. But that doesn't matter right? Heatran resists alot of stuff that Celebi and Weavile are scared of. Fire. Flash Fire comes in handy when there is a Sunny Day team since i get like a 2X boost. It serves as an Early Game status Inflicter and to screw with my opponent. Hehehehe.

Nickname: Explotaro is Gold's nickname for his Typhlosion and that is one hell of a name so I adapted it to my own pokemon.

The Green Fairy thing...
Spr_4h_251.png

Tinker (Celebi) @ Leftovers
252 HP/ 80 Atk/ 120 Def/ 58 Speed
Impish Nature
Nature Cure
-Swords Dance
-Baton Pass
-Seed Bomb
-Thunder Wave
Role: People might be saying WTF? SWORDS DANCE!? Yes I'm running Swords Dance Pass which can srsly add my other physically oriented sweepers such as Electivire, Gyarados, or Weavile. Seed Bomb is for STAB and with 1 Swords Dance it can pack a damn punch. Baton Pass to get away from slower Pursuit Users thinking Imma get switch out. Thunder Wave is to Slow down my enemies so my slower Gyarados, Heatran, and Electivire get a fair chance at sweeping.

Team Synergy: Everything that screws my Celebi over is resisted by my Heatran and Vice Versa. Its like they were made for eachother. This is mainly to support my team with more stabs and shit. Baton Pass is just to get out without switching be it without a swords dance I can still gtfo. I outspeed all pursuit trappers except the rare Weavile Trapper.

Name: Tinker is a fairy and so is Celebi. DONT RANT FOR UNORIGINALITY!

THE STAR SHARPED CLAW PKMN!

Weavile.png

Shadow Claw @ Life Orb
252 Atk/ 4 Hp/ 252 Speed
Jolly Nature
Pressure
-Swords Dance
-Ice Shard
-Brick Break
-Night Slash
Role: The main sweeper in my team. 252 Atk is to max out his damage output late game which can easily sweep teams. Swords Dance can like seriously dent many pokemon easily 2HKO a Cressilia. Swords Dance is to increase my Sweeping potential. Maybe I dont need to SD if I can passed it by my Celebi so I can come in on a T-Tar. Ice Shard is my priority move/ revenge killer move. Brick break is for coverage against Rock/Steel Types. Night Slash is for general Stab.

Team Synergy: It is the main sweeper and it doesn't cover anything since its so frail, but all my other pokemon cover it. Weavile is my main dragon killer. Comes in on the usual dragons and then SD's on the switch. they dont wanna stay and lose that Mence. No matter the HP/ DEF stats invested, Ice Shard never fails to deliver.

Nickname: Shadow Claw is like what he is. he's a dark type and a Sharp Clawed Pokemon.

PLEASE RMT CUZ I REALLY LIKE THIS TEAM! I DONT LIKE IT FAILING!

Where's Kumar628 with the rant saying that this team is Mixvire weak, cause it is...

Mixvire@Expert Belt
Mild
Motor Drive
EVs:36 Atk/252 SpA/220 Spe
-Thunderbolt
-Flamethrower
-Cross Chop
-Earthquake

Gets a 2HKO to 3HKO on swampert with EQ, gets an OHKO on gyara with thunderbolt, gets a OHKO on vire with EQ, gets a OHKO on Heatran (cause you're not using shuca), gets a OHKO on celebi with flamethrower, gets a OHKO on Weavile with Cross chop. All he has to do is switch in on a t-punch from electivire and he can sweep the team, mainly cause he's faster than everyone after a boost from motor drive.

Go with Shuca on Heatran so he can stop him better and maybe kill it with Earth Power. Swampert might stop it with it's EQ's, but it might as well roar him away. I'd go with either hippo or rhyperior over heatran. Hippo for less weaknesses and better vire stopping capabilities, rhyp for a better wall overall and no bothersome sandstorm.

Hippo@Leftovers
Impish
Sandstream
EVs: 252 HP/52 Atk/32 Def/172 SpD
-Earthquake
-Slack Off
-Curse
-Stone Edge

Rhyperior@Leftovers
Impish
Solid Rock
EVs:244 HP/184 Def/80 SpD
-Curse
-Earthquake
-Avalanche/Megahorn
-Stone Edge

My own version of Rhyperior. With it's superior defense and attack, why not boost them? Still has a little investment in SpD to maybe withstand a special hit, but Hippowdon is the better wall, just hinders your Weavile (unless you're ok with it having lefties).

Hope this helps. Probably won't though.

A few Nitpicks.
Maybe a mix-vire over physical based?
A mix-vire can shadow a physical one and take out blissey.
Also, Stone edge is a much better option over ice fang.
It can take out opposing gyara's. Weavile is your main dragon killer, so ice fang is pretty unnecessary =/

okay but if evire switches in on his evire after swampert is gone, his team's :toast:. I meant to put that in my post. That's what I would do, seeing as it's no surprise to whether or not he has a pert or not, just kill it with a HP-grass-wielding or some other grass special-wielding poke, then it's beddy bye time for this team.

Yeah with kumar active most teams are vire weak lol.
I would drop either earthquake or cross chop for flamethrower and thunderbolt for Thunderpunch. Electivire can then hit harder on either side. Otherwise pokemon with high defense can stop its sweep.
To stop your team being Vire weak I suggest the Standard Rotom H set as it beats steels and can burn physical attackers.

Oh boy! Do I just LOVE the shit outta Weavile. Ive been using them (and Sneasle before it got an evo.) for years and they've never let me down. You wont be dissapointed.
HOWEVER...
Some comments on your Weavile:
1.) Try Low kick (HG/SS tutor) over BB as it hits TTar much harder, ensuring a OHKO (Ive had them survive a brick break before...). Unless screeners are REALLY causing you trouble.
2.) Without sleep support it is actually quite difficult to get in a SD on Weavile due to his crap defence and low resists. That LO along with SR (if your foe layed them down) will kill Weavile very quickly. Try this set if your focusing on using Vile as a Revenge killer:
Weavile@Choice Band
Jolly
252atk/ 216speed/ 40hp
-Ice Punch
-Ice Shard
-Pursuit
-Low Kick

You dont need to max speed, but you need the extra attack to OHKO gengar, alakazam, and azelf w/ pursuit regardless if they switch.

Thats Frosty, but if u notice my celebi, its a swords Dance Passer. The main reciever is usually Weavile who doesn't need to set up anymore. Maybe if I'm lucky I can get another SD off and spam Ice Shard.

Hey, cool team, but there are a few changes I would like to suggest. First off, I would use 36 Atk EVs on Electivire instead of the current 20. Using 36 Atk EVs allows Electivire to get a OHKO on Blissey 100% of the time with Stealth Rock damage, and considering MixVire's main purpose in teams is as a wallbreaker, making sure you can OHKO Bliss is important. Now, I suggest changing Heatran's set to that of a Life Orb attacker. Life Orb Heatran breaks stall like it's his job, and is also a very powerful attacker and can dish out some serious damage against slower foes. I suggest using a spread of 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe, a Naive nature, and a set of Fire Blast, Earth Power, Hidden Power Grass, and Explosion. Hidden Power Grass is cool for OHKOing Swampert switchins thinking that they can wall you, and Explosion is great for taking out anything that isn't a steel, rock, or ghost type.

While Baton Pass Swords Dance Celebi is a cool Pokemon, I don't really think it brings much to the table for your team. Think about it; Electivire and Weavile (Celebi's main Baton Pass recipients) are very frail Pokemon, and when they are passed to, they will usually be hit with an attack on the switchin; this along with Stealth Rock damage and anything else will really add up over time, and drastically lower their sweeping potential. Your team really wants a Rapid Spinner, however; two of your main sweepers take an unacceptable 25% damage when switching in thanks to it (Gyara and Weavile). I think that you should try out Life Orb Rapid Spin Starmie in that spot; she is an extremely powerful attacker, and great at Spinning away hazards. I suggest a spread of 4 Hp / 252 SpA / 252 Spe, a Timid nature, and a spread of Hydro Pump, Thunderbolt, Ice Beam, and Rapid Spin. BoltBeam + Hydro Pump means that you will hit everything hard, and Rapid Spin is great and just an awesome support move. Another bonus to Starmie is she lures in more electric moves for Electivire to take advantage of.

Hope I helped, good luck with your team! =)
