[OVERVIEW]
Comfey acts as great role compression, providing hazard control thanks to Defog and acting as a pivot with U-turn. Its Fairy typing helps it check Fighting- and Dragon-types like Sirfetch'd, Machamp, Flygon, and Guzzlord. Thanks to Natural Cure and Synthesis, Comfey can absorb weaker hits and status ailments from Stealth Rock users like Diancie and Mudsdale. It has a hard time getting past Fire-, Steel-, and Poison-types like Talonflame, Bronzong, and Dragalge because of its poor coverage and offensive stats, and as a result, it's forced to use U-turn and act as a lure. Comfey faces competition with Sylveon due to its better bulk, cleric options in Wish and Heal Bell, and ability to pull off offensive sets more effectively.

U-turn allows Comfey to pivot out of Pokemon it cannot KO like Dragalge, Vaporeon, and Talonflame. Heavy-Duty Boots synergizes with its pivoting, but Rocky Helmet is also an option to chip physical attackers like Sirfetch'd and Flygon. Leech Seed is an alternative to Synthesis to get extra chip damage on Poison- and Steel-types like Weezing and Bronzong, and it gives teammates a little recovery as Comfey switches with U-turn. 24 Speed EVs allow Comfey to outspeed Adamant Tyrantrum and Decidueye.
Comfey is extremely reliant on its teammates to deal with checks its baits in with U-turn. Ground-, Fighting-, and Fire-types like Golurk, Sirfetch'd, and Arcanine are great to check Steel-types like Bronzong, Copperajah, and Escavalier. Dragalge and Toxicroak also make great teammates to threaten walls like Sylveon, Vaporeon, and Mantine, as they outstall Comfey otherwise. Psychic- and Ground-types like Starmie and Flygon can clear out Poison-types like Salazzle and Toxicroak that Comfey struggles to get rid of. Water-types like Blastoise and Kingdra can set up on Fire-types like Talonflame after Comfey pivots out. Teammates with pivoting moves can form a VoltTurn core alongside Comfey such as Arcanine, Flygon, and Rotom-C with Teleport, U-turn, and Volt Switch, respectively.

Other Options
====
Calm Mind sets can use Triage and Stored Power to give Comfey a good matchup against offensive Pokemon like Kingdra and Blastoise and Poison-types like Weezing and Vileplume, but it still gets walled by Dragalge and Steel-types like Copperajah and Bronzong. Dual screen setters like Xatu and Espeon make good teammates for this set to give Comfey multiple setup opportunities and help it survive a super effective attack to activate Weakness Policy.
Checks and Counters
====
**Poison-types**: Poison-types such as Salazzle, Weezing, Dragalge, and Drapion pressure Comfey with their STAB attacks. Due to Comfey's weak offensive stats, they may opt to use a non-attacking move like Toxic Spikes or Swords Dance.
**Steel-types**: Steel-types like Bronzong and Copperajah can utilize their resistances to set Stealth Rock. Furthermore, they also punish Comfey's teammates after U-turn due to it outspeeding them.
**Fire-types**: Fire-types like Salazzle, Arcanine, and Talonflame act as great defensive options, as Comfey can't do much in return.
**Wallbreakers**: Comfey is forced out by powerful wallbreakers like Exploud, Glastrier, and Golurk that can KO it. Glastrier is notably able to frequently set up Substitute and Swords Dance and muscle through Comfey's attacks.
