Hi everyone, I'm new to competitive battling, EV training and the such. Earlier this week I caught a shiny Pikachu which, (despite never using Pikachu unless playing Yellow Version), I figured having a shiny Raichu in a competitive team would be somewhat fun. It has a Quirky nature and it's ability is Lightning Rod. I took it to the guy in Kiloude City and he said that has superior potential in Sp Atk and Sp Def. Only problem is the nature, seeing as it's pretty neutral. Should I train it or keep it as is and never use it, because frankly I'm only considering it because it's shiny.
Now for the next pokemon. Tonight I caught a shiny Skoripi, which I was excited about because I was toying with the idea of having a Drapion on my team, and now that I've got a shiny, I want one even more. Only problem is that it has a Modest nature and I know Drapion is more of a physical guy. Again, IV dude said his Sp Atk was superior, and I know of a few good moves that aren't physical to teach him, and his ability is Sniper. I just want to know if it's worth it or not to train him. Again I'm new to the world of being a competitive battler so any input at all would be much appreciated! Thanks for taking the time to read this!
