Conan's First RMT in a While

Hey guys, havent posted a team in quite some time, So I thought Id post the team I have been using lately. Its been doing ok so far, but there is defintely room for improvement. So Anyway without further ado lets get to the team.

Quick Look at the Team

Swampert @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252HP/252Def/4Sp.Def
Nature: Relaxed
- Ice Beam
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Roar

Swampert is a pretty basic, standard lead. Hes been used as a lead for a while now for a few reason, main being is very bulky and almost always gets rocks out, and just does his job really well. I chose Swampert for a lead on this team because he is bulky, gets rocks up, and does fairly well against other leads.

Heatran @ Life Orb
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 4Atk/252Sp.Atk/252Speed
Nature: Naive
- Dragon Pulse
- Explosion
- Earth Power
- Fire Blast

Life Orb Heatran is a force in OU, even if it doesnt get as much play as Scarf or Shuca Tran. Im not fully sure on Dragon Pulse, but I didnt want to go with HP Grass since other tran's outrun it (ones that dont have HP Grass obviously) and Dragon Pulse has done Ok, although Im considering Taunt there. Heatran damages anything switching in on it, since Life Orb tran is so powerful, I figured it would fit my team very nicely as a good Special Attacker.

Scizor @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 32HP/252Atk/224Speed
Nature: Adamant
- Bullet Punch
- Pursuit
- Superpower
- U-Turn

Choice Band Scizor, what can I really say that you guys dont know about Scizor. This isnt as bulky as the typical CB Scizors, this is a much older spread that came out early in the CB Scizor era, but I kept it because I like to outrun other things that Bulky CB Scizor doesnt. Scizor is an excellent revenge killer and U-Turn is deadly, damaging many foes no matter what resists it. It pairs pretty nicely with Heatran so that was another reason I felt good about running Scizor on this team. Having a Strong priority move is always nice as well.

Zapdos @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 248HP/228Def/32 Speed
Nature: Bold
- Heat Wave
- Toxic
- Thunderbolt
- Roost

Defensive Zapdos is really nice on most teams, being probably the best Scizor counter, and walling just a ton of the OU threats in todays metagame. Also, having Roost is just amazing on Zapdos. I felt he fit this team well in a couple ways. It gives me a nice Ground Immunity, Fighting Resist that this team needed. Also I can wall Scarf Flygon Out, Outspeed Vaporeon and such, which can be a problem sometimes. Overall just a really nice fit on this team.

Gengar @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4HP/252Sp.Atk/252Speed
Nature: Timid
- Pain Split
- Substitute
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast

Normally I used Scarf Gengar or Just Standard Life Orb Gengar, but once I tried this Gengar on this team, I just couldnt go back to those other Gengar's. This gengar is really good at taking down a lot of walls, lowering your own HP with Sub and Life Orb, you can dwindle them down, and KO with shadow ball or focus blast. With even decent prediction skills, you can switch in on pokemon such as gyarados, celebi and other pokemon Gengar normally easily Ko's, and Sub up knowing they will switch to keep their pokemon. He fits this team so well, its a nice change of pace from other Gengar's, and also is another Fighting and Ground Immunity.

Jirachi @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 4HP/252Atk/252Speed
Nature: Jolly
- U-Turn
- Ice Punch
- Iron Head
- Fire Punch

Scarf Rachi is a really good revenege killer. Having access to so many good moves, it can hit nearly anything for good damage, usually super effective. I like Jirachi here because he can outrun scarf flygon for the KO, also can hit scizor with fire punch, outrun's scarf TTar and just most pokemon in the OU game currently. He is also a really nice scouter having access to U-Turn, its the perfect revenge killer for this team.

The only thing i'd ask you to think about is removing Dragon Pulse on Heatran, and giving it Substitute. This would ease prediction a whole bunch, and Dragon pulse isn't that useful anyway. Max Speed Kingdra and Dragonite outrun and KO your heatran pretty easily, and I don't see Dragon Pulse being useful for much else. With a subsitute, you can pretty much guarantee KOing one of the opponents pokemon. Just to let you know, Fire Blast will still do ~40% on Gyarados and Dragonite, which is a decent chunk of health when aided with Stealth Rock.

This is a very solid team with few weaknesses, and I don't see much else to change.

Hope I helped.

I didnt want to really add another Substitute pokemon, having gengar doing that already. Also, Most Dragonites are not Jolly, They are adamant, making them slower then Heatran, so Dragon Pulse does have use there, but like I said, I am considering Taunt

Also consider toxic, as Bulky Waters such as vaporeon, Swampert and Suicune that switch in on Heatran don't like being poisoned at all.

Taunt might be a good idea for Blissey, but if you're running taunt they may fear an Anti-Counter set with explosion and switch out.

As i said, this is a very solid team, i'm just giving you some other suggestions that may work well.

Yea I know, Im just running through the options at the moment, thats all. There is something missing from this team, I just cant place my finger on it

Hi Conan, just a couple of quick suggestions:

On Heatran, swap out Explosion for Taunt. Taunt works much better against Stall teams, allowing you to shut down many threats such as Blissey, which can allow you a safe switch in to one of your other Pokemon, knowing you won't be statused. It also allows Heatran to survive for longer, as it now does not need to sacrifice itself for a kill. If you make this change, be sure to change Heatran's nature to Timid, as it no longer need the extra Attack. Also try Hidden Power Grass over Dragon Pulse. The lack of a strong Grass type move ensures that opposing Swampert will give your team trouble. Heatran functions as a great Swampert lure, and can OHKO it with a Life Orb HP Grass.

Yea I can give HP grass another go I suppose, didnt work well the first time though. Also, Explosion is nice, and While I do wanna Try Taunt Out, Im not sure explosion is the right choice. Thanks though, its defintely something to consider
