[OVERVIEW]

Copperajah is one of NU's best Pokemon because of its combination of offensive and defensive dominance. It possesses great coverage and a very high Attack stat, which leaves it with few consistent defensive answers, and the bulk and defensive typing to handle some of NU's strongest special attackers such as Dragalge, Goodra, and Choice Specs Sylveon. As a result, Copperajah is both an elite Stealth Rock setter and wallbreaker. Copperajah's only real flaws end up being its poor Speed, which makes it easy for faster attackers to deal with, and coverage issues, meaning it will run the risk of not being able to take advantage of its great attacking prowess in certain matchups. It also lacks reliable recovery and is somewhat vulnerable to status, which makes playing against common Defoggers like Mantine, Talonflame, and Rotom-C trickier than desired.

Power Whip prevents Water-types such as Starmie, Gastrodon, and Mantine from effectively answering Copperajah. Heat Crash targets Escavalier and Bronzong, although Earthquake can be used to target opposing Copperajah, Arcanine, and the niche Heatproof Bronzong. 84 Speed EVs lets Copperajah outrun Gastrodon and specially defensive Dhelmise, while 16 Attack EVs with an Adamant nature provide some extra power and allow it to always OHKO Mienshao with Heavy Slam in addition to OHKOing Rotom-C with Heat Crash after Stealth Rock.

Copperajah is prone to ceding momentum to opposing Fire-types in Talonflame, Arcanine, and Salazzle, particularly if it lacks Earthquake for the latter two. This makes Water-types like Gastrodon, Mantine, and Vaporeon excellent teammates, with Vaporeon also supplying Wish and cleric support to bolster Copperajah's longevity. Similarly, Fighting-types are major issues for Copperajah, which makes teammates like Sylveon, Decidueye, and Cresselia good to have. Cresselia in particular is great because it can easily switch into a Choice-locked Fighting-type after it uses Close Combat and set up with Calm Mind. In general, Copperajah struggles against strong physical attackers like Flygon, Guzzlord, and Tyrantrum, so physical walls like Vileplume, Comfey, and Gastrodon good to have.

Power Whip destroys Water-types like Starmie and Blastoise. Stone Edge prevents Talonflame from safely switching into Copperajah. The last moveslot is mostly dedicated to hitting opposing Steel-types: Heat Crash blasts Escavalier and also hits Bronzong and Dhelmise, whereas Earthquake improves the mirror matchup in addition to reliably hitting Arcanine. 164 Speed EVs allow Copperajah to outpace Diancie and Vileplume.

Copperajah's Assault Vest-boosted bulk is great, but it appreciates Wish support from the likes of Sylveon and Vaporeon due to its inability to regenerate health on its own. Both can also provide cleric support in the event Copperajah gets statused. Similarly, pairing Copperajah with pivots such as Arcanine, Talonflame, and Dragalge ensures it takes as little damage as possible when switching in. Copperajah is great at pressuring bulky Water-types, so teammates like Starmie, Salazzle, and Inteleon appreciate its support. In return, Starmie and Inteleon can deal with Arcanine, while Salazzle punishes Fighting-types. Diancie and Mudsdale are by far the best Stealth Rock setters to pair with Copperajah and form good defensive cores with it; they also help check Fire-types for Copperajah.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options

Copperajah can forgo Stealth Rock in favor of Protect, letting it scout Choice item revenge killers like Mienshao and Flygon. Stealth Rock sets can run much more offensively inclined EV spreads to be better wallbreakers and outpace faster defensive Pokemon like Sylveon and Dragalge; however, doing this severely compromises Copperajah's bulk. Superpower compresses coverage for Guzzlord and opposing Copperajah but is ultimately inferior to Copperajah's other coverage options. Choice Band sets capitalize even further on Copperajah's offensive prowess but heavily cut into what it can do defensively. Utility options like Curse, Taunt, and Whirlwind improve Copperajah's matchup against Calm Mind Cresselia, but another coverage move is almost always preferred.

Checks and Counters
====

**Fire-types**: Arcanine is the best defensive answer to Copperajah available; despite Copperajah having super effective coverage for it, Arcanine's Intimidate and solid physical bulk offset that. Talonflame is a riskier switch-in because of Stone Edge but easily takes any other attack from Copperajah and can fish for burns with Flame Body. Salazzle is much less consistent answer to Copperajah because of its poor bulk but can revenge kill Copperajah with Flamethrower or Fire Blast.

**Guzzlord**: Copperajah lacks a good coverage move to deal with Guzzlord, and because of the latter's immense weight, it takes little from Heavy Slam and threatens back with Knock Off.

**Ground-types**: Mudsdale can take Power Whip well enough and threaten back with a strong Earthquake. Offensive Ground-types like Flygon and Golurk variants can easily KO Copperajah with Earthquake, with defensive variants of Flygon being able to stomach Copperajah's strong attacks and force Rocky Helmet damage onto it.

**Fighting-types**: Despite being poor switch-ins to Copperajah, Fighting-types such as Mienshao, Sirfetch'd, and Machamp easily OHKO it with Close Combat.

Another calc that explains the atk investment, i like this one.

It possesses great coverage and a very high Attack stat, which leaves it with few consistent defensive answers, and the bulk and defensive typing to handle some of NU's strongest special attackers such as Dragalge, Goodra, and Choice Specs Sylveon (specs sylv is a little niche. Cresselia is a great example here that proves Copper's relevancy, but if "strongest attackers" doesnt sound right for Cress then "threatening special attackers" works as well). As a result, Copperajah is both an elite Stealth Rock setter, having a losing matchup against very few entry hazard removers (some of the best Defoggers like Mantine, Talonflame, and Wisp Rotom-C are very annoying for Copper. This point here could be misleading to what is usually a tricky matchup), and wallbreaker. Copperajah's only real flaws end up being its poor Speed, which makes it easy for faster attackers to deal with, and coverage issues, meaning it will run the risk of not being able to take advantage of its great attacking prowess in certain matchups. (Mention its lack of recovery and status vulnerability, and this is where you can write how those Defoggers I mentioned earlier annoy it with burn)

Power Whip destroys potential punishes offensive Water-types switch-ins like Starmie, Vaporeon, and Gastrodon and Blastoise (this was the same point as last set, and with AV Copper you play it more as a switch-in to these two rather than Waters ever switching into you. Blastoise is especially relevant as SR Copper is much more likely to lose to it). Stone Edge prevents Talonflame from safely switching into Copperajah. The last moveslot is mostly dedicated to hitting opposing Steel-types: Heat Crash blasts Escavalier and also hits Bronzong, whereas Earthquake improves the mirror matchup in addition to reliably hitting Arcanine. 164 Speed EVs allow Copperajah to outpace Diancie and Vileplume.

I'd clarify that set in particular or redirect the point to say how Sallazle punishes Fighting-type wallbreakers). Diancie and Mudsdale are by far the best Stealth Rock setters to pair with Copperajah and form good defensive cores with it; they also help check Fire-types for Copperajah.

**Ground-types**: Mudsdale can take Power Whip well enough and threaten back with a strong Earthquake. Offensive Flygon variants can easily KO Copperajah with Earthquake, whereas defensive ones can generally stomach Copperajah's strong attacks and force Rocky Helmet damage onto it. (May as well fit Golurk in here too, the only other relevant Ground check; could be just alongside offensive Flygon if you don't think it needs a whole sentence for it)

**Fighting-types**: Despite being poor switch-ins to Copperajah, Fighting-types such as Mienshao, Sirfetch'd, and Machamp easily OHKO it with Close Combat.

(Burn is a relevant way to check Copper, so it's risky to switch into Scald Draglage, Gastrodon, and Vaporeon. Defoggers like Rotom-C, Mantine, and Talonflame are also able to burn it, which is especially troublesome for the Stealth Rock set.)

QC 2/2! Clarified a couple examples and interactions. Burn is a common enough status that, on top of the cleric support you mentioned, it can be referenced a few more times throughout. Twas a good read, great job as always.
