Welcome to Pocketmon's first RMT! This team is a weatherless OU offensive team with a twist. It focuses on Whimsicott (Whimsicott competitively! GASP) setting up Tailwind for Kyurem-B, Sash Cloyster lead
doin' his trolly stuff, and Gengar and CM Keldeo gaining benefit from the holes that were opened up.
Changes in red.
Whimsicott @ Leftovers
Trait: Prankster
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk
Jolly Nature
IVs: 0 HP / 0 Def / 0 SDef
- Tailwind
- Substitute
- Taunt
- U-turn
For once, Whimsicott not being a SubSeeding troll. Tailwind is to help a Kyurem-B sweep. Substitute does 3 things, which is why it is useful, 1. Lower health means Weaker attacks will KO it and Kyurem can get as many Tailwind turns as possible. 2: prevent Breloom Spore. 3: disguise itself as a staller. The EVs and IVs are so I can get a Tailwind up before other fast priority, and so I die as quickly as possible.
Kyurem-Black @ Life Orb
Trait: Teravolt
EVs: 252 Atk / 96 Def / 4 SpA / 156 Spd
Naughty Nature
- Dragon Claw
- Ice Beam
- Fusion Bolt
- Hidden Power [Fire]
The Tailwind sweeper. EVs give it power and let it outspeed standard Venusaur and Victreebel under sun with Tailwind, as well as allowing it to survive Choice Band Scizor Bullet Punch at full health.. Dragon Ckaw is a reliable physical STAB. Fusion Bolt hits bulky Water types. Teravolt allows HP Fire to go through Forretress and Skarmory's Sturdy, which is nice.
Alakazam @ Focus Sash
Trait: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Psyshock
- Focus Blast
- Signal Beam
- Hidden Power [Fire]
The team's revenge killer. It beats out Scizor (a HUGE threat to this team). Nothing much of importance here. Alakazam is (probably) staying, though, because it is great lategame, too.
Cloyster @ Focus Sash
Trait: Skill Link
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Naive Nature
- Icicle Spear
- Rock Blast
- Shell Smash
- Hydro Pump
My sash lead. The Kyurem/Cloyster hyperoffensive combo is quite good. Two 125 Power attacks, one of them being a STAB, is quite powerful. Shell Smash=self explanatory. I use Hydro Pump because the things Razir Shell hits over Hydro Pump are easily handled by the rest of the team. Sadly, Cloyster is easily revenge killed by Lucario and Conkeldurr, which brings me to...
Gengar (M) @ Black Sludge
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 Def
Timid Nature
IVs: 30 Atk / 30 Def
- Substitute
- Disable
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast
This things is one of my three powerful special attackers. Its checks and counters are generally eliminated by Zam, Kyurem, and Cloyster, and the things that wall it are, too. This makes Gengar great on this team. Also, things like Conkeldurr can easily get past the rest of the team...but not Gengar, thanks to SubDisable! Ferrothorn also gives a LITERAL TON of
trouble to the rest of the team, but Gengar can Disable Gyro ball, and then freely set up a Sub and beat it with Focus Blast.
Keldeo-Resolute @ Leftovers
Trait: Justified
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Calm Mind
- Hydro Pump
- Secret Sword
- Hidden Power [Ghost]
One of the things that troubles the rest of my team are bulky Water types, which there are many of. So Keldeo comes in. Getting help from Kyurem and Cloyster's wallbreaking, it sets up CM on Jellicent, Vaporeon, Politoed, and other bulky Water types.
So, there you have it. This team is particularly good against stall thanks to Gengar's ability to beat Ferrothorn, Chansey, and Gliscor, Whimsicott's Encore, Keldeo's ability to beat Jellicent, and the ability of the entire team to just punch holes. It also does well against offensive teams, articularly sun. Overall, this team is (in my opinion) very good.
