Cotton Ball and a Fire vs Bug(s) and a Fire

Or a potential Fire, in the case of the latter.
challenging Shiny Fairymon to a 2v2 singles
I guess I'll choose a standard arena and rules for this new battle.

Nature: Hasty (+15% Speed, +11% Accuracy, -1 Def)

Type: Fire.
Fire: Fire STAB; immune to burn, emit a low glow in dark places, takes additional damage if active open flames are exposed to a water attack. Superior senses in volcanic or brushfire areas.

Abilities:
Intimidate: (Can Be Activated) When this Pokemon initially goes out into the battlefield, it generates an intimidating roar or war cry that shakes all opponents on the battlefield, reducing their Attack stage by one (1). The attack drop is maintained at the end of each round. If an opponent switches in a new Pokemon, Intimidate can be activated again as an Action, and will affect all opponents.
Flash Fire: (Innate) This Pokemon thrives in high temperatures, and takes the energy of any opposing fire attack, nullifies the damage, and uses the additional power to boost its own fire attack’s Base Attack Power by two (2). Self-targeted attacks do not give the boost.
Justified (DW): This Pokemon's body reacts to dark energy, invigorating its passions. When hit by a Dark-type move, the Pokemon's attack will increase one (1) stage. A boost gained this way by another Pokemon's attack will be maintained at the end of each round. Self-targeted attacks do not maintain boosts.

Flannery yipped with excitement as she was chosen for battle. Then she got a hold of herself, and let loose the intimidating roar that she was expected to. There. She expectantly looked back over her shoulder at her trainer for orders, silently hoping that Shiny Fairymon had learned from her mistakes last time. "Flannery! Start with Sunny Day, then use heat wave, and then follow it up with covet!"
Alright. Covet wasn't something she had expected, but Flannery supposed that with how few of her moves she knew, an experience share could definitely be useful. Flannery felt a small twinge of guilt, but then shook it off as she looked at the scoreboard and reminded herself that her opponent knew all of his moves already.

Activate Intimidate.
Sunny Day~Heat Wave~Covet

Edit: When I originally posted this earlier, I told myself that when Burmy evolved into Wormadam, it would still have an rather shallow movepool, and so it wouldn't be too much of a jerk move to use covet, but now I'm rethinking the jerk-ishness of doing something like that, especially considering how friendly Saleem had been earlier. I'm still learning the ropes of etiquette in these battles. If Saleem thinks it was rude to use covet for the exp. share I can change it to fire fang to avoid that.

Note to Shiny Fairymon: don't feel too bad about yourself because, when training items are stolen by Covet (at least according to IRC), they give counters to both parties (but don't stack with other training items).

Shiny Fairymon is after that.

Oh! It's a definite relief to know that experience share will give experience to both parties. Also, thank you for the offer of flavor, but I don't think I need it if you don't want to- I already had it for my first battle. I'm mainly doing the flavor in my posts to get a handle on the personalities of my pokemon (and because I find it kind of fun).

Shiny Fairymon smiled at the excitement Flannery had shown for the battle. It was rare to catch the Growlithe in such a mood- she must have been really looking forward to this. She knew that Flannery would be annoyed if she said it aloud, but the experience share looked rather funny sitting on her head. Anyway, her next commands for the match were going to be simple- "Heat Wave, Fire Fang, and Heatwave!"

Shiny Fairymon blinked. Why was Saleem bringing out his bug-type against her fire-type... Shiny Fairymon then froze as she saw rain dance listed as one of Karrablast's attacks. Not to mention that the shed skin would prevent Flannery from being able to reliably burn it... Flannery, not realizing any of this, stood confidently facing her opponent. It was obvious that she was going to treat this battle as simply as her battle with the Burmy!
"Flannery! Stop!" Shiny Fairymon yelled. Flannery looked to her, confused. Shiny Fairymon quickly explained the danger, and then gave her orders and substitutions.

Shiny Fairymon gaped at the turn of events. She hadn't realized protect could protect from abilities- and she certainly had completely overlooked the existence of counter in her opponent's movepool. Before she could start to feel too bad for herself, she saw Flannery looking to her expectantly, and remembered she had a job she needed to do. "Right," she said, "Flannery, you're faster than Karrablast- take advantage of that!" Shiny Fairymon was sure they could get a morning sun in before Karrablast could use rain dance.

Flannery lay down, completely exhausted. Shiny Fairymon bit her lip, knowing it was dangerous to rest in a battle, but also seeing Flannery couldn't help it. It looked like the battle was nearing its end, and Fairymon couldn't tell quite who the victor between the two of them would be- which made the whole thing oddly exhilerating. While Shiny Fairymon knew Jerome could likely finish things up (after all, this match had happened because her opponent was giving an easy fight to a newbie), the challenge of this battle on its own was fun. "Flannery, try intimidate again- if the opponent uses protect, switch to howl! Then attack again, with howl if they use counter!"

Chill~Intimidate~Return

IF the opponent uses protect on either a2 or a3, THEN use howl instead.

When Shiny Fairymon heard the order for knock off she had stifled a chuckle- turnabout was fair play, after all. She was much less amused, however, with her order of intimidate turning into struggle- she really needed to pay better attention to the details of the rules. "Flannery, return", she said as she withdrew her Growlithe inside of her pokeball. "Jerome, finish this battle off!" She cried out as she released her excited Swablu from his pokeball.

Jerome ruffled his feathers, perturbed at the way things had gone. Shiny Fairymon facepalmed, thinking the same thing. Still, Akbar was quite obviously reaching his limit. Even with that sort of mistake being made, it was still possible for the two of them to win this battle- nay, it was the most likely outcome.
