Cradily @ Leftovers
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Recover
- filler

Here are some damage calculations vs. max HP/SDef Cradily in Sandstorm...

Azelf (Modest, max SAtk)
Psychic: 20-23% (39-45% after Nasty Plot)
HP Fighting: 20-24% (40-47% after Nasty Plot)

Salamence (Modest, max SAtk, Choice Specs)
Draco Meteor: 41-48%

Togekiss (Modest, max SAtk)
Air Slash: 16-19% (31-37% after Nasty Plot)
Aura Sphere: 26-30% (50-59% after Nasty Plot)

Starmie (Modest, max SAtk)
Surf: 18-21%
Ice Beam: 24-28%

PorygonZ (Modest, max SAtk, Adaptibility)
Tri Attack : 20-24% (40-48% after Nasty Plot)

Manaphy (Modest, max SAtk)
Surf: 18-21% (35-41% after Tail Glow)
Ice Beam: 24-28% (47-55% after Tail Glow)

Cradily w/Sandstorm likewise makes short work of Gengar, Alakazam, Zapdos, and almost every other special threat around.

As I've said in the last thread, Cradily is good at walling but can't really -do- anything. Its attack is pretty pathetic and will quickly run into PP issues with Stone Edge (I remember it having lots of trouble in advance from even Rock Slide; Stone Edge will be twice as bad). The only thing Earthquake is going to hurt will be Raikou.

It gets special options, but you really can't afford to run them because otherwise Raikou would run all over you. It does get Swords Dance but it's still not exactly threatening and isn't difficult to kill on the physical side as you're forced to drop barrier.

Surgo basically said it all. Cradily is incapable of causing very significant damage outside of a Swords Dance set; all it does is sit there and wait for something to set up on it. And before anyone says it, Barrier/Amnesia/Toxic/Rest is not effective at all. It's just bait for Skarmory to lay layers after layers of Spikes, Metagross, Gyarados, Heracross, and lots of their associates.

Toxic is Cradily's main form of hurting stuff and should probably be deployed. It's also guaranteed to lay down Stealth Rock unless you're a really inadequate player. Besides that, if it really wants to make an impact you have to catch someone with Mirror Coat, or hit SE with Rock Slide or Earthquake.

Yet another of these Special sponges weak to Fighting, by the way.

Recover/Stone Edge/Earthquake/Swords Dance could work, and it now has the durability for it.
That set, like almost every Cradily set, is really just inviting a free Heracross switch. This is something you really don't want to do in a game where Heracross is just so dangerous.

Yes, Stone Edge does 39-46% to min HP/Def Heracross without any Atk EV's.

I'm thinking of running it as the special wall on a TSSSSSSSS... team.

Cradily is a great special wall with Sandstorm support, and its good to set up Stealth Rock, but it can't do much attacking, especially with most EVs needed for defense. It could definitly surprise people who think Blissey and Cresselia are the only viable special walls (it does attack better than those two).
