Hello guys, welcome to my RMT! This is a team that I built around a new and potent threat: Sheer force feraligatr. With his hidden ability, he received a giant buff, and is now able to out-damage mega gyarados with its waterfall. This makes him a very potent sweeper that can take out a lot of the metagame with his powerful boosted attacks. That said, the rest of the team was built around taking out feraligatr's or talonflame's checks and counters to allow them to sweep. Now, here is my teambuilding process.

I started my team with a FWG core of feraligatr, talonflame, and mega sceptile. I liked the idea of an FWG core because 3 of the biggest threats to feraligatr are ferrothorn, rotom-w, and keldeo, with sceptile+talonflame being able to handle all three. I originally planned to run a stallbreaker talonflame, as it wouldn't have been for sweeping and more for removing specific threats.

At this point, nothing on my team really liked to face mamoswine, so I added rotom-w, one of the best mamoswine counters. Rotom also gave me a resistance to talonflame, which was another glaring weakness.

Here, I realized that my team had an incredible lack of bulk, and while I was building this part, I needed four roles rolled into 2 pokemon. I needed a lati@s switch-in/check, a defogger, a rocker, and just general tankiness. Replacing sceptile with an offensive mega venusaur gave me some much needed bulk, a fairy check, and could easily beat keldeo, ferrothorn, and rotom all by itself. I also changed talonflame to an SD set as it now could be a sweeper with venusaur taking on gatr's threats

For my last two pokemon, I originally chose bisharp and gliscor. Bisharp running low kick is a good bisharp check, while also giving my team much needed dark type power, and a lati-twin check after I changed low kick for pursuit when I realized venusaur eats up anything non-boosted bisharp can throw at it except psycho cut lol. Gliscor gave me a rocker and a defogger rolled into a single package, as well as a drill check. However, gliscor can't have poison heal and defog so I had to scrap these two and go back to the drawing board for them.

After pondering it for a day, and looking through the possibilities, a combination of scizor and tyranitar appealed to me as the best choice. I chose to run a SpDef defog set on scizor, giving me a decent mega garde switch-in, as well as being a decent lati check. His main job, however, is to be a reliable and steady defogger, to support talonflame. While unboosted BP's are weak, they can help with chipping away or revenging a sash mon. Tyranitar was my second poke for these last slots. He gave me a stealth rocker, a second bird check, and a good dark attacker. He can also eat up lati@s' attacks all day.

Team in Detail:
Feraligatr
Q7haQHE.png

Dundee (Feraligatr) @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Waterfall
- Dragon Dance
- Ice Punch
- Crunch
First off, we got the man himself, Crocodile dundee. Feraligatr serves as a late game cleaner, being more powerful than his closest rival for the spot, gyarados and mega gyarados. He also gets great move options to take advantage of sheer force, such as crunch and ice punch. Crunch and ice punch give him almost perfect neutral coverage except for a few pokes (dammit keldeo). Anyway, I chose those moves over superpower, as you will always be walled by something, no matter what coverage you have, be it slowbro, amoonguss, or ferrothorn. All he needs is one DD most of the time, and he will run through a team.

Talonflame
7p10HGj.png

Bravest Bird (Talonflame) @ Sharp Beak
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 88 HP / 252 Atk / 168 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Flare Blitz
- Brave Bird
- Roost
Now we have the bravest bird, Talonflame. Talonflame is my secondary sweeper, and is so beneficial for stopping quick pokemon such as mega sceptile, mega lopunny, mega gallade, mega beedrill, mega pinsir, and even some pokemon that aren't megas such as keldeo or gengar, the latter of which is a huge threat. The spread is standard SD talonflame as is the moveset. Talonflame is also very good at sweep stopping, as pokemon such as dragonite, zard x, and zard y are difficult for my team to take out after they have either come in or set up. Lastly, Talonflame is so incredibly important for breaking mega sableye, being my only check to that monster. Unfortunately, talonflame and Feraligatr share rotom as a check, but thats what the next guy is for.

Mega Venusaur

What am I? (Venusaur) @ Venusaurite
Ability: Chlorophyll--->Thick Fat
EVs: 232 HP / 252 SpA / 24 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 6 Atk / 30 SpA / 30 Spe
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Synthesis
Mega venusaur completes my team's FWG core, and is the tank of the team. He eats up any kind of fairy attacker's hits unless they are mega gardevoir. He is also the main supporter for feraligatr and talonflame, destroying rotom-w, keldeo, ferrothorn, and mega sceptile. He also is this team's main bisharp check, as well as walling mega altaria and clefable. Venusaur is just such a good bulky attacker, and is also able to deal out major damage to many pokemon that want to switch in. The moveset is fairly self-explanatory, with giga drain and sludge bomb for STAB and healing, HP fire for pesky scizors, ferrothorns, and bisharps, and synthesis for insta-heals. However be sure to watch out for the sand that Tyranitar brings, as it can neuter synthesis' healing capacities, and leave you vulnerable to being overflowed with damage.

Rotom-W
featuredmon_rotom.png

Extra Dry (Rotom-Wash) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 212 Def / 44 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split
- Hydro Pump
- Volt Switch
Rotom-w is a staple on so many teams, and this one is no exception. He gives this team a valuable answer to mamoswine, and is able to take on the likes of talonflame, slowbro, hippowdon, lando-t, and gliscor. His set is the standard rotom set, with no deviations, but its still very effective. He is also great at bringing in feraligatr on a slow volt switch so gatr can DD up and run through a team. His burns are also very handy at crippling the physical threats to this team, and is probably one of the best checks to sand rush drill in the game.

Scizor
Scizor_II_by_Zaikudo.png

distant admirer (Scizor) @ Leftovers
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Defog
- Roost
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
My 5th pokemon is scizor, and if any of you guys get the reference in the name, props to you. But anyway, scizor is my team's mandatory defogger, what with talonflame and all. Using roost and his decent bulk and typing, he can find many opportunities to defog throughout the match. He is this teams gardevoir switch-in and does it fantastically, not being 2HKOed by focus blast and eating up hyper voices all day. His bullet punch and u-turn are great utility moves for either picking off a very weakened pokemon, or slow u-turning into a sweeper to set up and win the game. Despite the steel typing, he isn't a very good fairy check, as his BP does zero to stuff like clefable or mega altaria, but I have venusaur for those. I needed a reliable defogger who could take some hits, and scizor has done that amazingly.

Tyranitar
1950790-tyranitar2.jpg

pebble (Tyranitar) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Stone Edge
- Crunch
- Earthquake
Tyranitar is the last pokemon on my team, But certainly not the least. He fulfills many roles, including stealth rocker, lati@s check, talonflame check, dark type attacker, heatran slayer, and others. I found him to be a good choice as he is the only OU viable stealth rock-using dark type besides bisharp, but putting rocks on bisharp is a waste of its potential. Anyway, Tyranitar was the perfect pokemon to fill the last slot, as it could dish out damage to psychic types, set up rocks, and just help weaken the opposing team. The spread is a standard defensive support spread and the moves are all self-explanatory.

Threatlist:
645.png
: Landorus-I is very scary for this team to face. He has decent enough bulk to live a few hits, and most of my pokemon are 2hkoed by the right coverage. The way I get around him is to try to do about 40% with one poke, sack it, and revenge with talonflame. Of course, that is quite difficult to do and the lando user could just switch.

latest
: Charizard Y also falls into the same archetype as landorus-I, extremely powerful special attacker with basically no switch-ins not named chansey/blissey. This guy is a little easier to deal with as he is less bulky and talonflame revenges easier. Also, if I can catch him on the solarbeam and go into T-tar, I get a free KO on Zard Y.

Based on those two big threats to my team, I have considered adding a bulky latias to replace scizor, but that would open up a bigger weakness to fairies, specifically mega gardevoir. It would be nice to know your thoughts on that.

Closing Thoughts: Well, that's my team. While I haven't been able to get a high ranking on the ladder, I think that's mostly due to my lack of skill as a battler rather than weaknesses in the team. Some other options that you could use are gyarados if you want more speed and intimidate over the power, but I prefer gatr's power. Anyway, please give my team a rate, and thanks in advance!

Ok, because this has been up for about a day, and I have gotten no responses/rates. Therefore, I shall use my one bump. Please respond and give this team a rate?

(Warning, I HIGHLY recommend not listening to what I have to say about your team, mainly because of how much of a NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOB I am.)

Your team looks pretty solid, able to take a few hits, give a few hits, y'know, what a team needs, and the only things I'd add (if this was my team) would be a bit more SPdef to Venusaur to help him/her/it to live a few more hits. And I would recommend Dragonite to replace Scizor. Gimme a sec and I'll post the set I'd recommend. Thanks for reading this, and for posting this RMT, gives me a better view of the minds of other Pokemon Trainers.

Well, there are actually two of them that could work, a Roost one, and a SubDD one.

Roost:
Dragonite @ Leftovers
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 4 HP / 104 Atk / 252 SpD / 148 Spe
Careful Nature
- Iron Head
- Defog
- Roost
- Dragon Claw

SubDD
Dragonite @ Leftovers
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 108 HP / 64 Atk / 252 SpD / 84 Spe
Careful Nature
- Substitute
- Dragon Dance
- Defog
- Dragon Claw/Iron Head

Like I said earlier, you probably shouldn't listen to these suggestions because I, like I said earlier, am a noob.

yo, landorus breaks every team lol. I think going lati over scizor can work, but then it makes you a a lot more mega garde weak. Because of that, i suggest changing talon to a spdef bulk up set, it still checks the things you listed. This will help you check mega garde better, while still having a win con.
380.gif

Latias @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 72 HP / 184 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Defog
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Recover
202201.jpg.m.1384293325

Talonflame @ Leftovers
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpD / 8 Spe
Careful Nature
- Bulk Up
- Brave Bird
- Roost
- Taunt/Will-O-Wisp

Hey guys, thanks for the rates!
Omnidoomer, Your suggestion for a bulky D-nite is not bad, but unfortunately, it still leaves me with a gaping weakness to lando-i, zard y, and mega garde. Also, running a defogger with a rocks weakness is generally suboptimal, but thanks for the rate anyway. :)

Thecrystalonix, that seems like it could work, by making my team just generally less weak to the threats I mentioned, and allowing me to still not autolose to mega gardevoir. I will try your suggestions out and will report back with the results!

EDIT: I like the latias and how it works on the team, but I feel like the bulkier talonflame just doesn't give me the offensive pressure I need. I'm probably going to stay with SD talonflame, as neither could switch into psyshock and SD talonflame checks mega garde anyway. I guess I'll just have to accept garde as a weakness, and I would rather accept garde as a weakness because it can switch in on about 2 things in my team, but lando and zard could switch in on more. I will keep the latias however.
