CroCune Reborn

So I think we all remember the dominate CroCune set that rampaged through teams in Gens 3&4. It saw a decline in use in Gen 5 because of the change in sleep mechanics, meaning switching in and out no longer counted as a sleeping turn. Well the sleeping mechanics changed back to previous form and the first thing I thought of when I heard this was the legendary CroCune set.

th

Talonflame Choice Band
EVS:252ATK, 252SPE, 4HP
Jolly Nature
-Brave Bird
-Flare Blitz
-U-turn
-Toxic
Talonflame is a great addition to any team, and mine is no exception. It's job (beides revenge killing) is to eliminate one of CroCunes biggest counters this gen including: MVenusaur. Seriously MVenusaur is the most annoying thing for Crocune to deal with, with the combination of its bulk, Leech Seed, Giga Drain, and Synthesis it is almost impossible for CroCune to take it down alone. It is the typical CB set for Talonflame but I run Toxic in the last slot to cripple switch-ins (Most notably Rotom-W).

th

Excadrill Leftovers
EVS: 176HP, 256SPD, 60DEF, 20SPE
Carful Nature
-Stealth Rock
-Rapid Spin
-Rock Slide
-Earthquake
As with evey team using Talonflame, you need to be able to get rid of Stealth Rocks for it to be used to its full potential. Excadrill is also my SR setter because I needed a SR setter, and I think SD excadrill is stupid this gen. I tried to make it as bulky as posible with the EV's and threw 20 into speed so it could outspeed Rotom-W's that try to outspeed uninvested Excadrills. Typical EdgeQuake-esque coverage for attacking. This is the slot I am most unsure about because Exca's speed is somewhat lacking, and at times it doesn't get the job done which puts a huge load on the rest of the team

th

Rotom-W Leftovers
EVS: 252HP, 228SPD, 28SPA
Calm Nature
-Pain Split
-Will-O-Wisp
-Volt Switch
-Hydro Pump
The washing machine has become of of the most useful pokemon in this generation because of it's ability to counter so many threats like Talonflame, MPinsir, Azumarill, Togekiss, Gliscor (if HP doesn't miss), and the list goes on and on. It's main benifit to CroCune is it's ability to cripple select physical attackers that can muscle through Suicunes defense.

th

Suicune Leftovers
EVS:252HP, 252DEF, 4SPD
Bold Nature
-Rest
-Sleep Talk
-Calm Mind
-Scald

The Mon, The Myth, The Legend, and the crux of my team: Suicune. It's outragous defenses are almost unbreakable, and it has the ability to send its special defenses to unbreakable levels as well. Just simply set up as many calm minds as you can before it gets KOed and then rest to get rid of staus and to go all the way to max health. Sleep Talk for two turns to either increase you special stats once more, or attack with a boosted Scald (or in my case, use Rest 99% of the time instead). Once counters have been eliminated it can sweep through teams with ease.

th

Mega-Venusaur @Venusaurite
EVS:252HP, 252DEF, 4SPA
Bold Nature
-Synthesis
-Giga Drain
-Sludge Bomb
-Leech Seed
Now I said before Suicune sweeps with ease once it's counters have been elimnated. Now what are those counters you ask? Well those would be pokemon immune to water type attacks like Jellicent, Vaporeon, and Gastrodon. How do I deal with this pokemon you ask? Mega-Venusaur is the answer. With incrdible bulk, immunity to toxic and spore, and a great ability in Thick Fat allows Mega-Venusaur to be one of the best walls around in XY OU. It is the best counter to Azumarril there is, and is a great Rotom-W switch-in. When these pokemon switch out in fear of this behemoth use Leech-Seed and makethe appropriate switch into a counter of the pokemon they sent out, while having the advantage of stealthing their HP.

th

Kyruem-B Leftovers
EVS: 56HP, 216ATK, 236SPE
Adamant Nature
-Substitute
-Dragon Claw
-Fusion Bolt
-Ice Beam
I think we'll see a big boost in Kyruem-B this gen because of the prevalence of Rotom-W, a pokemon it can easy set-up and wrek havoc upon. This is my main physical attacker and it's job is to make as big of a dent into a team as possible. The goal is to switch nto something that can't hurt it behinde a substite and then blast through he opposing team.

Main Threats:
th

Kyruem-B: It is one of the only pokemon with a high enough attack stat to be able scare suicune, as Fusion Bolt can 2KO my suicune. I am forced to switch and this is where it sets up it's substitute, and at this point I am screwed.

th

Ferrothorn: It walls my Venusaur, Kyruem, Rotom, Suicune, and Excadrill. My rotom can WoW but that wont stop it from setting up painful hazards and like I said earlier, Exca isn't always a reliable remover. Talonflame can take it out but not without extreme recoil, iron barbs, and possibly rocky helmet damage. Banded verions 3KO sucune even with burn.

Also trick users, most notably Latios give suicune and can also destroy MVenus with psychic, kyruem-b with dragon pulse, and exca with surf.

Phazers also cause trouble but most are easy to get rid of

Also M-Luke rapes everything, but that goes without saying. Good thing it's going uber soon.
