Crouching Tiger, Hidden...Penguin?

Hello everyone, I'm still relitively new around here so you probably won't know me. I'm Crudkip (durr) and I'm back with a new RMT (see previous bracketed comment). Well basically this team is focused on a SubAgiliPetaya Empoleon, as you may have guessed from the title. It works around debilitating his counters with Status and Sandstorm while giving him ample opportunities to switch in and set up, concequently leaving a trail of fainted pokemon in his wake.

This is a bulky offense team, though you might notice that not one of them carry Healing moves. So naturally most games aren't too drawn out as Type Resistances are key to the general game play of this team.

Without further blabbing, have a look at the team!

Tentacruel @ Black Sludge
Ability: Liquid Ooze
Bold (+Def -SpD)
EVs: 252Hp 120Def 136SpD
-Toxic Spikes
-Surf
-Rapid Spin
-Hidden Power [Electric]

What he does: As a team member

On a Team scale, Tentacruel is the lead. A bit odd yes, however let me firstly say that well, no-one else really CAN lead, so he got the job. And secondly, he (in conjunction with other members) fares very well against the majority of leads. Metagross can only Meteor Mash/SR/Explode and for those with EQ, I can switch to Zapdos and Substitute as they Explode and then laugh in their faces. Heatran and Infernape leads obviously don't do much to him at all, seeing as how he counters them. Azelf is a pain but a switch to Tyranitar spells his doom. For Aero, Breloom can come in and set up, should he not be Taunted. HP [Electric] for a Gyarados check and Surf is for STAB and Infernape and Heatran. Rapid Spin is filler.

What he does: For Empoleon

He sets up Toxic Spikes meaning that Emp's main counters (i.e: Bulky Waters have a hard time against him. He also tends to lure out Rotoms which gives an easy switch to Tyranitar, meaning Emp isn't revenged by a random ScarfTom.

EVs:

The standard ObiStall set if I am not mistaken, takes 3 Earth Powers from Timid/Naive ScarfTran etc etc yada yada

Breloom @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
Adamant (+Att -SpA)
EVs: 236Hp 252Att 20Spe
-Mach Punch
-Swords Dance
-Seed Bomb
-Protect

What he does: For the team

Breloom, with unique typing, has resists to the most common attack types such as Rock, Ground, Dark, Water, Grass and Electric. This lets him come in one of these many resists and will AlWAYS scare somthing out, ALWAYS. Everyone expects a Spore, and with very good reason too. I mean 100% Sleep is nothing to turn your nose up at. Basically counters Tar, and is handy with Mach Punch, and takes status once set up. After a SD this guy can OHKO Heatrans with Mach Punch and Checks Gyara (as not all run Ice Fang). Protect for scouting and healing. He can sweep teams if left to get 2SD's up (which isn't that hard).

What he does: For Empoleon

Well not a whole lot really. He is more of a hit sponger and semi-sweeper. Softens up the opposing team and great for scouting and causing switches. He can take on Ice Beam-less Bulky Waters like a champ too =]

EVs:

Hp is divisible by 16 for Max recovery of Posion Heal, as he resists SR that is not an issue. Max attack is for durr, and iirc Spe outruns 68Spe Vappy by two points.

Tyranitar @ Choice Band
Ability: Sand Stream
Adamant (+Att -SpA)
EVs: 240Hp 112Att 156SpD
-Crunch
-Earthquake
-Pursuit
-Stone Edge

What he does: For the team

Bulky CBTar.
Ever since I first was suggested him, I fell in love with him and he has been on all my teams to this date. He has the Special defence to rival a +1 Suicune, but with far more attacking force. Tyranitar is a great stopper to Scarfed pokemon such as Latias, Rotom and Gengar. He is good for taking out SpecsJolt and other assorted Special Attackers such as Heatran.
The moveset is standard, and I don't feel it really needs too much explaining.

What he does: For Empoleon

For Empoleon he sets up Sand Storm meaning that Bulky Waters not only are posioned due to TS but now the lose their Leftovers recovery too. He helps eliminate random Scarfers (mainly special based ones) that could defeat Emp on less than 25% Hp. Also a great lure for a Bullet Punch from CB Scizor meaning an easy set up for the awesome penguin.

EVs:

240Hp lets Tar take minimal residual damage from SR, Spikes and any Status. SpD lets him take 2SpecsMie's Surf (iirc) and just take Special hits like the champ he is.

Zapdos @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
Timid (+Spe -Att)
EVs: 248Hp 84SpA 176Spe
-Substitute
-Thunder Bolt
-Heatwave
-Hidden Power [Grass]

What he does: For the team

Zapdos is my Scizor/SD Lucario counter and backup Gyara check. He can come in on any of his great resistances and set up a Sub as they switch to a Heatran (to get a Flash Fire Boost) or maybe Swampert (to take the Thunder Bolt. Only to find that they are in for some hurtin' from Zappy. He is a great way to finish off Lead Metagross as they will often try to explode on him.
Heatwave for Scizor and Lucario and HP Grass is for Swampert, Thunder Bolt is for STAB and Bulky Waters.

What he does: For Empoleon

He is a great scouter of Special Walls such as Blissey who just love to come in to Sponge Zappys hits, letting me know when to sweep with Emp so he isn't tragically walled mid-sweep. He can also take out bulky waters who would threaten Emp.

EVs:

248Hp lets me take a +1 Waterfall from Gyarados along with making for minimal residual damage such as SR and SS. 176Spe outruns Jolly Lucario and anything below then SpA is filler.

Gengar @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
Hasty (+Spe -Att)
EVs: 76Att 252SpA 180Spe
-Explosion
-Shadow Ball
-Thunder Bolt
-Hidden Power [Ice]

What he does: For the team

ScarfGar is the revenge killer of the group and the third check to Gyarados, as well as Salamence and can pick off a weakened SD Lucario with T-Bolt. He takes Fighting and Ground attacks, much like Zapdos only faster and with more power to back it up. Explosion is for when he is close to death to severly dent a lot of things.

What he does: For Empoleon

Can you say ultimate lure for Scizzy? This guy is willing to take a fatal Bullet Punch or Pursuit to give Empoleon a better option to Sub up on. He also is a great way to eliminate random Scarfers like Flygon that threaten a set up Empoleon.

EVs:

SpA is maxed, for well, max Special Attack? Speed outruns Niave +1 DDMence as well as anything trying to outrun him by one point. Attack is then used to give Explosion the most punch it can have (well as much as this set can have xP)

Empoleon @ Petaya Berry
Ability: Torrent
Modest (+SpA -Att)
EVs: 12Hp 12Def 252SpA 232Spe
-Substitute
-Surf
-Ice Beam
-Agility

What he does: For the team

Empoleon is the end-gamer, who the team is based around. Ice Beam and not Grass Knot so he is not walled by Dragons and also because I have TS to damage Water Types with Poison and Surf should be enough to defeat them.

What he does: For Empoleon

He be Empoleon.

EVs

Not 100% sure to be perfectly honest, standard Smoggy set. I haven't run calcs to fin what they specifically do.

Empoleon commands you to Rate Mah Teem!

I think those are all very good ideas, though I might try a Pseudo CBScizzy with Shed Shell perhaps? I mean Magnezone would be such an annoyance, though yes I do need a better Dragon Resist than Emp, though Scizzy is not going to like too many Outrages, and then Roost would be welcome, which could easily have a place over Pursuit as I have CB Tar for that already.

I'm not sure how necessary Roost is on Zappy as I haven't really found the lack of recovery to be a problem yet though I will keep that in mind from now.

Scarf Latias would be the same set as Gengar, but with the 80Att in Hp?

And yes that EV move seems like a most benificial change for Empoleon.
