This team has been savage so far. Sharing team for others to use.
The support mons: Excadrill and Alolan Ninetails
-They do what you think they do, and they do a great job at it
-Excadrill: Stops magearna volt switches early game. Rapid spin first turn against zeraora or cinderace almost always scares out opponent.
-Ninetails: Shuts down rain teams with hail and freeze dry
The sweepers: Volcarona, Azumarill, Dragapault, and Magearna. Gonna explain each in more depth
Azumarill
- Super bulky under veil with its HP stat and EVs
- +4 Knock off can OHKO SpDef Ferrothorn (12.5%) and SpDef Pex (25%)
- +4 Play rough OHKOs SpDef Tangrowth
- Useful to kill rotom-H, chansey, and Ferrothorn, which can be painful mons for magearna to get
- Useful backup against opposing volcarona
- Haven't felt the need to have liquidation over knock off ever
Dragapault
-This is the cursed DD set
-Can sometimes 6-0 teams on the spot if there are no haze/unaware/normal mons
-Can often wall urshifu, clefable, Ferrothorn, magnezone, rillaboom, and others after a disable
-Often doesn't need veil
-Counters ditto
Volcarona
-Does what volcarona does
-Psychic over roost lets this mon beat Pex/Tangrowth cores.
-Fiery dance is somewhat less reliable than flamethrower, but I miss this move, so I have it.
-Under veil, this can handle most mons that aren't lycanroc or azumarill
-Since there is no roost, only bring this out when it can sweep or put a dent into mons like rotom-H or magearna, which can wall my own magearna
Magearna
-This is a good old shuca set that I used back in SM when landorus was rampant. In this meta, you could also try an occa berry.
-Flash cannon + TBolt > Bolt-beam since the flash cannon is useful against weakened opposing magearna, spdef clefable
-Calm mind is useful against magnezone or when opponent is recovering or protecting constantly
