I decided today to spice things up a little, and go for a hyper offense team somewhere that isn't Ubers or LC. This looked cool, and after building a team I decided I would stay. It's not yet perfect, but I've not lost a ladder match with it yet.
The team is composed of a dedicated lead in Terrakion, supported by three wallbreakers in Kyurem Black, Staraptor, and Azumarill, with Lucario as a revenge killer/cleaner and a sweeper in Serperior. I used all physical sets sans Serperior, though I'm not incredibly tied to that. It's more of a matter of preference, though if it's deemed detrimental to the performance of the team it can be changed.
Terrakion @ Focus Sash
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
IVs: 30 Def / 30 SpD / 30 Spe
- Return
- Taunt
- Stealth Rock
- Close Combat
This set is based around setting Stealth Rock up no matter what, using the Focus Sash to get that done, and possibly preventing slower leads from setting their hazards with Taunt. Return is made a rock type, and with Close Combat it allows Terrakion to act as an extra wallbreaker or cleaner if I decide to switch. I haven't seen a stall team, and I doubt they're really viable, but if one decides to show its face this set probably destroys them. Jolly nature is used to get Taunt in first more often, as well as sometimes secure an attack before death or act as a better cleaner.
This is probably the most iffy Pokemon on my team, since there might be a better user of Stealth Rocker out there and I already have rock and fighting coverage, including two other users of Close Combat.
Kyurem-Black @ Life Orb
Ability: Teravolt
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
IVs: 30 Atk / 30 Def
- Return
- Outrage
- Iron Head
- Fusion Bolt
The first wallbreaker, this set does exactly what you think it does: Use a combo of Return-ice and Outrage, along with coverage in Iron Head and Fusion Bolt to deal massive damage early game. Life Orb only helps, and decided to go with a Jolly nature instead of Adamant to increase speed since there's already enough power on this thing.
Azumarill @ Choice Band
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 192 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 60 Spe
Adamant Nature
IVs: 30 SpA / 30 SpD
- Body Slam
- Waterfall
- Play Rough
- Knock Off
The second wallbreaker, this set functions basically the same. Body Slam is made into a Ground type move to nail many would be checks and counters, namely Poison and Steel types as well as Volcanion. Waterfall and Play Rough give it STAB coverage, and Knock Off is there for the sheer utility of it. Choice Band and an Adamant nature are used for more power, since outspeeding things isn't a top priority, but I did give it 60 Speed EVs to help move past base 60 Pokemon. I also invested in HP for more bulk.
I wonder if this is the greatest of choices, but I like it for now. I am open here.
Staraptor @ Power Herb
Ability: Reckless
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
IVs: 30 SpA / 30 Spe
- Sky Attack
- Brave Bird
- Double-Edge
- Close Combat
Easily my favorite set, this acts like most Reckless Staraptor, making good use of Brave Bird and Double Edge to score massive hits on opponents. Close Combat is perfect fighting type coverage, but the real seller of the set is Sky Attack. With the given IVs, it becomes a Fire type nuke, and given Power Herb I can still switch or attack without having to worry about recoil. A Jolly nature is used again because it needs all the speed it can get, and can actually use it.
Lucario @ Life Orb
Ability: Steadfast
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
IVs: 30 SpD
- Extreme Speed
- Close Combat
- Earthquake
- Crunch
This set functions mostly as a late game cleaner and revenge killer, making great use of steel type Extreme Speed to destroy weakened Pokemon. I went with Steel for my Extreme Speed due to lack of other Steel options, and Close Combat provides Lucario's fighting type STAB. Crunch is for coverage, and the defense drop can be a nice surprise once in a while, and Earthquake is a nice non-contact coverage move. Life Orb is there for power and a Jolly nature is used for speed, naturally.
Serperior @ Focus Sash
Ability: Contrary
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 30 Def / 30 SpD / 30 Spe
- Energy Ball
- Leaf Storm
- Dragon Pulse
- Glare
Serving as as sweeper and wincon, Serperior clocks in with it's incredible ability to boost it's Special Attack with Leaf Storm, while providing STAB right off the bat. Energy Ball-rock and Dragon Pulse are used for coverage, rock being chosen specifically to hit everything that hits Serperior for super effective damage bar Poison. Glare is to help cripple threats for teammates to deal with easier. A Timid nature is used for speed, and a Focus Sash allows Serperior to survive a good hit before retaliating, either with Glare or a coverage move.
I intentionally ran Energy Ball over Giga Drain, for the sole reason of I'd prefer the extra power to the passive healing. I also would like to keep the Sash on it over Leftovers, since once again passive healing is a meh and I'd prefer to preserve Serperior's winconliness. If you try this set, Giga Drain and Leftovers could be a better option, maybe with Substitute or Leech Seed as well.
