It was a cold day. A boy lay with his head on the desk, a ruined computer in front of him. It's blue screen of death mocked his presence. After a hefty Thief from the bank, a new computer soon arrived on this tragic scene, but it could not save the harddrive. Years (ok, fine, weeks) of battling and teams and gone to waste. So, the brave young boy was forced to venture forth into the unknown once again. Here are the results: A team full of common Pokemon. Yeah, the boy is a lazy ass. But, hopefully, a few of these guys are just gimicky enough to work. Now, to the team:
He hates you: The anti-lead
Gengar @ Modest/Expert Belt.
Levitate.
6 HP, 252 SA, 252 SPD.
-Will o Wisp
-Taunt
-Shadow Ball
-Focus Blast
This guy was actually the first pokemon on the team. I wanted a pokemon who could really punish common lead strategies. Gengar, as it turns out, does.
Stealth Rockers: Taunted Joo! Gengar is faster than most Rockers, so he Taunts, uses Will o wisp if a switch is expected, or Shadow Ball/Focus Blast if I think the pokemon will stay.
Taunters: The most common early game taunters I've seen are Aerodactyl and Azelf. OHKO on Azelf w/ Shadow Ball (Focus Sash sucks of course), and Dactyl is 2HKO. I've considered replacing Thunderbolt for Focus Blast to deal with Aerodactyl. Thoughts?
Oh, yeah, and he has an explosion immunity. Lol @ Fortress and Azelf. Because this set is really offbalanced, I have had great success with it. He almost always gets one, if not two, KOs.
He hates me: The Pseudo Lead
Heatran @ Lonely/Shuca Berry.
Flash Fire.
4 HP, 252 SA, 252 SPD.
-Stealth Rock
-Fire Blast
-Explosion
-Earth Power
Standard Leadtran (except...he's not leading) who also acts as a revenge kill in some capacities. I added a Shuca Berry to piss off EQ spammers, but it hasn't been working well. I'm very open to suggestions on the item to use here. Heatran's goal is either to help out with Fire Coverage late game, or set up rocks early game, depending on how it's going with Gengar. I actually haven't set up rocks very much. Maybe because my team is so beasty. Nah, it's not that.
Suicide: The one who makes you want to do it
Scizor @ Adamant/Leftovers.
Technician.
4 HP, 252 ATK, 252 SPD.
-Swords Dance
-Roost
-Bug Bite
-Bullet Punch
This is a pretty standard set for a Scizor. Personally, one of these things has made me want to kill myself quite a few times. A Swords Dance and this guy is deadly. He also has great synergy with Heatran (if you need explanation for that, please don't rate my team). I like this guy the a lot/ The problem is I'm not sold on the EVs. Is it worth the SPDs? I was thinking moving those to defense. Thoughts?
Water: He hates it
Celebi @ Modest/Life Orb.
Natural Cure.
232 HP, 244 SA, 32 SPD.
-Psychic
-Leaf Storm
-Thunder Wave
-REST
Celebi exists for no other reason to kill variants on Suicine, Swampert, and the like. I added Psychic for STAB, Thunder Wave to keep up a theme of pissing you off (I once had a guy ragequit when I Thunderwaved his Ninjask), and Recover to boost stayablility. I haven't really used Recover. Ever. So, take that as you will.
Angelina Jolie: Cute, but deadly.
Latias @ Timid/Life Orb.
Levitate.
4 HP, 252 SA, 252 SPD.
-Roost
-Calm Mind
-Surf
-Dragon Pulse
AWW SO CUTE!!!! Oops, I'm dead! I got recommended this set, and dear goodness do I like it. Dragon Pulse after a Calm Mind is an absolute beast, and Surf is no slouch, not to mention great coverage for my team. Roost adds some excellent lasting power. I never realized how good this thing is.
Cut the Cookie: Boring Sweeper
Salamence @ Naive/Life Orb.
Intimidate.
16 ATK, 252 SPD, 240 SA.
-Fire Blast
-Draco Meteor
-Outrage
-Earthquake
*Yawn* Yeah, standard new MixMence. He's a bore for sure, but he is a fantastic revenge killer, as well as just generally raping women, pillaging the village, and eating small children. I need something with lots of power potential. This guy brings it.
And that concludes your tour of my new team for my new computer. Thoughts? I'm working on compiling a threat list. I've only tested it though maybe 50 games, and it's been decent, winning probably 60-75% of the time. I haven't seen any HUGE weaknesses yet. I got set up on real bad a couple times, but I'll blame user error for now.
