Floatzel looked dank af tbh. Dat Speed, Dat Atk, Dat Ability.

Now obviously Politoed was necessary for the rain support. Float enjoys the boost in speed and STAB Waterfall.

Now, I had my physical beatstick, so I found myself needing something to hit with some danky special power. Could use Manaphy, Ludi, etc.. But nah. #FightThePower #Megastoise2015

Offensive side of the field taken care of, a defensive front was put into works. Physically defensive Gyara alongside a mixed bulk Lanturn fit perfectly via covering the other's major weakness and also giving me a sponge/sponge decoy for the electric hits.

Lastly, to top of my defensive core, in comes Tentacruel to eat special attacks up for days<3

Swimmin'N'Puss (Politoed) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Drizzle
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Scald
- Ice Beam
- Focus Blast
- Psychic / Perish Song

Danky nigga #1. I decided to roll with the lesser seen Poliscarf as opposed to a bulkier, defensive build. Takes people unawares and can sneak in some decent dmg. Scald/Beam/Blast for STAB and general coverage. For the last slot I'm using Psychic so, for those rare occasions, Poli can actually hit Mega Venusaur with something without reduced dmg. Perish Song is an option to deliver a lovely, gift-wrapped FU to walls and setups wanting to stay in longer than welcome. EVs dumped to maximize speed and dmg.

2Tails0Dicks (Floatzel) (F) @ Choice Band
Ability: Swift Swim
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Waterfall
- Crunch
- Ice Punch
- Aqua Jet

Floatzel + Band + STABfall + Rain = DMG. Nothing to explain here. Adamant nature here just for that extra pop. With 115 speed, and Swift Swim via rain, it needs any power boosts it can get. 55/50 defenses are booboo af to worry about taking hits. Waterfall and Ice Punch provide the STAB and coverage, with crunch adding an option to actually touch Slowbro in some manner. AJet serves as general priority. Again, dumped EVs to maximize speed and beat-sticking capabilities.

Ability: Rain Dish
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 176 HP / 252 SpA / 8 SpD / 72 Spe
Modest Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Aura Sphere
- Dark Pulse
- Ice Beam

Mega Blastoise has power. Mega Blastoise has bulk. Special beat-stick confirmed.
Megastoise here is built to take a tad bit of controlled abuse while dishing out steady shots in return. The moves a explanatory, but I decided to run all-out-offensive as opposed to setting space for Rapid Spin. Not a fear for me here facing rocks/web, so I'm not going to force myself into limiting my coverage. EVs spread with bulk and DMG in mind. 72 tucked away into speed cuz

ImmaBiteDatDick;) (Gyarados) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Intimidate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Waterfall
- Thunder Wave
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

I went with Gyarados for my physical sponge of the team but with an Intimidate drop, it makes up for Gyara not having a stout defensive stat line, and the ground immunity plays in perfect with the GyaraTenTurn core. Rocky Helm is my item of choice because without and hazards to set up as chip damage, it's nice to have Gyarados to fall back on. Just comes in handy tbh. For the moveset, I needed an offensive move obviously, Rest is for recovery with the lack of Lefties, and that basic made Sleep Talk a necessary add. TWave is changeable, but I've been running for now as it nicely passes around cripples through the game, helping Blastoise and Floatzel late game. EVs for full defensive investment.

KawaiiTickler8==D~ (Tentacruel) (M) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Liquid Ooze
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Acid Spray
- Scald
- Ice Beam
- Giga Drain

This nigga is dank as dank can be. Granted he can't take any sort of physical hit by any means, but as far as soaking of special hits goes. OMLBAE4LYFE. I chose to not run Rapid Spin of Ice Beam because hazards don't scare me much with this team. Rather have the coverage than dismiss rocks/web. Assault Vest because it's 2 gud 4 u. Sure recovery via sludge is nice, but AV beefs jelly up so much.. Liquid Ooze to toy with Leechers and Drainers(MegaVenu).

TestiesOnMahHead (Lanturn) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Volt Absorb
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 40 HP / 252 Def / 216 SpD
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Volt Switch
- Thunder Wave
- Protect

Lanturn is a must for a water team lacking any other sort of electric immunity/answer. That in mind, I went for a build center on mixed bulk. Can't take the abuse like Gyara or the licks like Tenta, but gives a nice balance to rely on if needed. EV spread: 40 HP brings the stat to an ideal point while the rest get dropped in Def and SpDef. Fairly standard moveset with Scald and Volt Switch. Twave was chosen to pass the cripples alongside Gyarados, and Protect to take advantage of Lefties recovery/possible Scald burns.

Okay so, even with a non-generic theme, this team has common underlying weaknesses, as most Water monotypes do. I realize this team was built around Floatzel, but it's generally not as good as other options under the rain, such as Mega Swampert. From what I see, there's two directions this team can go from here. One direction would be to make the team more rain themed and substitute Floatzel and Mega Blastoise for rain sweepers, or the other being that you get rid of the rain aspect since you aren't actually benefiting from it as well as you would with a Pokemon such as Keldeo in place of Politoed.

If you want to opt for the first option, I'd suggest Mega Swampert > Floatzel, as it offers Stealth Rock support as well as a strong wallbreaker under rain. Since you already have a mega that you made your strong special attacker, I'd suggest substituting Blastoise Mega for Kingdra, as it offers a strong special wallbreaker, as well as offer a more solid Pokemon to hit Mega Venusaur seeing as Tentacruel can't do much towards it. The problem with this option, is that it makes the team a lot less original, which was something you didn't really want the team to do.

Now, the second option keeps your team more original, but gets rid of a Pokemon that isn't really doing much for your team except offering a bit of time for Floatzel to be a bit stronger and faster. For this, I'd suggest substituting Politoed for Regular Swampert, as it grants access to Stealth Rock, is a solid physical wall, and offers a secondary electric immunity.

However, whichever edit you choose still requires you to make more tweaking for some of the sets on the team. First off, the Gyarados spread should be edited to 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD, with Leftovers as an item possibiliy. The former change makes Gyarados take less damage from Stealth Rock, while the latter can offer a bit of residual recovery which can really benefit Gyarados. I also have a suggestion of putting either Psychic or Rapid Spin > Giga Drain on Tentacruel.

This is basically it, the team is pretty cool and utilizes really underused Pokemon, so kudos to that man. Good luck.
