Dan in Real Life

I saw if it few hours ago, at my local mall. It's definately a breath of fresh air for movies, an escape from stupid pointless jokes. It'd be hard to say it's original or something, I mean it's just a story of some guy and his family, but it's still a good movie.
The scenery is beautiful as well. The cinematography I mean, (sp) The jokes are softer and heartwarming, I guess if you're into that kind of stuff. But if you're a Steve Carell fan you should go see it. Also if you're into movies like Stranger Than Fiction, regular movies but ones that are fast paces and have good storytelling.
My only gripe was the annoying teenage daughter of his, who sometimes seemed over-the-top with her acting. But that's about it, I enjoyed the movie a lot. 5/5 from me

Oh, and the soundtrack is very good as well. The main artist of the movie, Sondre Lerche (pronounced Ler-eh-kay) is really talented.

I thought that, save for some scenes that really gilded the lily, it was a great movie.

THAT SAID, I had one major issue with it. Also something of a SPOILER so don't read if you haven't watched the movie yet:
I didn't like the female love interest. I don't mean that the female love interest was unlikable, but it was more that I was never given a chance to really like her. I never got the chance to see what about her was exactly so wonderful that had Dan and his brother all over her...Ruthie, on the other hand, I liked even after her very brief appearance. She showed strong compassion and ethics for her line of work. It's not much, but it's a lot more than we get for Marie.

Hm, Ruthie was 'pig nose,' right? She was pretty hot....but I thought Marie seemed to have more character than her, or maybe the movie gave Marie more time for her character to be shown.
Maybe it was her accent they liked? She reminded me of the woman from 40 Year Old Virgin, who was a similar character. It made sense for me because the person who Steve Carell played in 40 YOV was pretty much the same as Dan, so yea...it I didn't see anything weird about him liking Marie.
I saw it more that he had finally found someone who he could laugh with after him losing his wife four years ago.
I agree with you about his brother though, it seemed weird he would think an older women like her to be a 'hottie'.

My sister went to watch this movie but she thought it was boring after a few minutes so she just left. XD I didn't think it owuld be that good either but could you guys give me a summary without spoilers on what its about because Im a bit too tired and sleepy to search google for the summary myself.
