4v4 Gym doubles (leader brings 7)
3 day DQ
Infinite recovers/chills
3 substitutions
Switch = OK
Items = ON; no "training items" permitted.
0 mega evolutions
Gym leader orders second on the first round.
Arena: Dark Gym
Dark Gym
Type
: Dark
Complexity: Moderate
Format: All

Description: TBD
  • Due to their innate sneakiness, all Dark-type Pokémon are now immune to the effects of full trapping moves and the abilities Arena Trap, Magnet Pull, and Shadow Tag. Dark-type Pokemon can also now switch out while affected by a partial trapping move (ex. Whirlpool) but will still be damaged by their effect. This ability only affects Pokemon that are naturally Dark-type and is retained even if the Pokemon changes type.
  • The battle takes place at night. Moonlight always heals its maximum HP value, even if the sky is obscured.
  • Skill Swap is now blocked by Substitute.
  • The ability Rivalry has no effect, but cannot be Skill Swapped.
  • Pokemon may not be forcibly switched out; they may only be switched out by their trainer.
  • The Base Attack Power of Psychic, Ghost, and Poison-type moves is increased by 2.
  • The Gym leader may bring Gyarados, but Gyarados is always Mega Evolved and and must hold the Gyaradosite.
===

Codifications:
  • Camouflage changes the user to a Ghost-type. Secret Power has a 30% chance to confuse. Nature Power becomes Ominous Wind.

Hello mah peeps, how is it hanging?

Hey I think I ca---wait no? Then nevermind.

Anyway, we are here on the second match of the Dark Gym. First match against an actually very dangerous opponent (no offense gem ._.).

Our Leader is...well... not regarded as a really good player. But he is surely much better than people give him credit for. When he posts on time that is. Anyway. If you like history, this gym is kinda ironic. Geodude6's most successful Gym Challenger was against the former Gym Leader Lou. Lou is a great player (or was as he is away...), but was in a very tough situation on that challenge, which is a good proof that our leader isn't really bad. And that was like an year or more ago! Long story short: understimate the leader at your own peril. Although I think I say that for everybody?

But either way he is an annoying john that doesn't even paste the profile of his mons on the PM. Let it stay on record that the next time he does so with me, I sure won't be as nice ._.

From his team, pay special attention to Hanako the Greninja. Technically none of the pokemon is weak against Greninja's usual moves (well, except for togekiss, but toge has ways to handle greninja). But the same can be said about his entire team. What sets Greninja apart here is how it is the only mon with some kind of half-decent movepool, I mean seriously? Protean and the ability to win damage races, provided that its user doesn't screw up defensively with the typings.

The challenger is the (somewhat) newcomer Avnomke. Avnomke is the current lets-ref-stuff-and-get-crazy-eventually-go-gogoat guy, which gave him a nice share of maxed mons. 3 of them here. Also, he is really close to getting the Dragon Badge on his first challenge. A nice start.

Pay special attention to Timmy the Gallade. Gallade is only weak to Flying and Fairy and while Honchkrow is on the team, Gallade has enough moves to get over that. And to outsmart protean. Just wait and see.

Now let's see the teams!

Abilities:
Shed Skin: (Passive) This Pokemon regularly sheds its skin and any impurities contained in its body. If afflicted with a status condition, this Pokemon has a 33% chance of removing all status conditions at the end of a round.
Moxie: (Passive) This Pokemon gets psyched after it earns a KO on an opposing Pokemon, increasing its attack by one (1) stage. This boost is maintained at the end of each round.
Intimidate: (DW, Trigger) When this Pokemon initially goes out into the battlefield, it generates an intimidating roar or war cry that shakes all opponents on the battlefield, reducing their Attack stage by one (1). The attack drop is maintained at the end of each round. If an opponent switches in a new Pokemon, Intimidate can be activated again as a Command, and will affect all opponents.

Stall: (Passive) This Pokemon has a watchful eye and immense patience. It can be ordered to attack last on any action regardless of ordinary attack priority. Flying:
Flying STAB; immunity to Ground attacks and the Arena Trap Ability except under the effects of Smack Down and Gravity, even for ground-based flying Pokemon. Will always hit foes with Dig (except other Flying types) and Dive. Cannot be hit by Dive unless the attacking Pokemon has a size class greater than four (4). Able to hit Pokemon in the evasive stage of Bounce, Fly or Sky Drop with single target moves that hit Pokemon on the field regardless of position.

Signs you are overprepared: your average moves per pokemon (87.5) is almost twice the average of the gym leader's (47.7)

Also why on earth did you lead with your two anti-fighting pokemon when I have two awesome fairies that are really good at mauling said anti-fighting pokemon?

Aromatisse holding Satchet: Dazzling Gleam ~ Dazzling Gleam ~ Dazzling Gleam
If Dazzling Gleam is imprisoned when you would move and Sableye isn't under the effects of a P/E move, then use Moonblast (Sableye)
If Honchkrow is in the evasive stage of a DE move when you would move, then use Moonblast (Sableye)
If Dazzling Gleam is imprisoned when you would move and Sableye is under the effects of a P/E move, then use Moonblast (Honchkrow)
If Sableye is KOed, then use Moonblast (Honchkrow)
If Honchkrow is KOed, then use Moonblast (Sableye)

Togekiss holding Scope Lens: Dazzling Gleam ~ Dazzling Gleam ~ Dazzling Gleam
If Dazzling Gleam is imprisoned and Sableye isn't under the effects of a P/E move, then use Encore (Sableye) the first action and Air Slash (Sableye) any future actions
If Dazzling Gleam is imprisoned and Sableye is under the effects of a P/E move, then use Ancient Power (Honchkrow)
If Sableye is KOed, then use Ancient Power (Honchkrow)
If Honchkrow is KOed, then use Air Slash (Sableye)

(these orders are made with the assumption that Metal Burst deals damage based on the full damage taken that turn as that is what the wording implies. If this is not correct then I would like a reorder)

Honchkrow: Icy Wind Togekiss~Fly Aromatisse~Brave Bird Aromatisse

Sableye: Fake Out Togekiss~Metal Burst+Metal Burst (Stall)~Cooldown (Poison Jab Aromatisse)

From Bulbapedia: Metal Burst returns 1.5 times the damage dealt by the foe's last attack

Counter/Metal Burst/Mirror Coat reflect only the last attack. In your case, only Aromatisse's Dazzling Gleam. Bide is the one that reflects all damage (=/= attack) received.

Geodude6

Avnomke you're not overprepared; I'm underprepared.

Round 1!

Uh...

Not a good start for the leader. Not at all. Momentum is all against him and he is ordering first now. This is doubles, not forgiving at all. If it keeps it this way, the challenger may one-two punch the leader and pretty much win...

hey or not. It is still round 1. Still, mons number 3 and 4 (guessing we will see them real soon) will make or break the battle for the leader.

Round 2!

Both trainers go all-out once more, after a quite rare counterswitching.

Now was the opportunity for the leader to captalize on the order-last advantage and try to salvage this. Needless to say it didn't happen >_<;. While Pain Split was a nice way to get rid of Togekiss, he still lost Sableye and pretty much lost his best Fairy-type counter. At least it is very crippled.

Oh well. Let's see how it all pans out. But yo mr. leader. If you want to take some risks, now is the time <_<;.
