SV OU Darkspam featuring Choice Band Ting-Lu

Now, I know what you're thinking. "Why is Ting-Lu Choice Banded?" I can, and will explain. Ting-Lu choice band seemed really funny to me so I thought that if it was funny, I should use it. I'll put calcs for it when I get there.

Now to start off with the team

yea i dont know why they are different-sized blame pokemondb

I made this team with the idea of using Ting-Lu with choice band. Alomomola and Talonflame is a fun combo and kingambit, skeledirge, and roaring moon are all pokemon that can help hit dark since a lot of the current meta does not resist dark.

First, we have Roaring Moon.

Roaring Moon @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Crunch
- Dragon Claw
- U-turn
- Iron Head

Honestly, I lead most games with Roaring Moon (I"m calling it RM from now on). RM is a fantastic revenge killer and with scarf it outspeeds alot of the metagame. Roaring Moon does actually hit a ton of mons (especially rotomw) with Dragon Claw and at 414 attack, it hits hard. Crunch over Jaw Lock bc its not setup (duh).

Talonflame @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Flame Body
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 252 HP / 192 Def / 64 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Defog
- Will-O-Wisp
- Flamethrower
- Roost

I saw this set on a Regenstall team that got a lot of traction on here and I fell in love with this actual set. Defensive talonflame is absolutely insane. With defensive investments, it becomes a HARD COUNTER to meowscarada. Sure, it can't ohko or kill meowscarada off rip, but will-o-wisp and flame body all but ensures it gets the burn off on its physical movements.

Alomomola @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Regenerator
Shiny: Yes
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
- Wish
- Protect
- Chilling Water
- Whirlpool

What a life saver. This thing can tank so many physical hits while being able to keep itself alive with regenerator and wish. Wish, of course, is there for wish passing so that RM can stay alive and cleave more. Physical Defense investments allow it to be a bigger wall and chilling water and whirlpool let it become a threatening trapper.

Kingambit @ Black Glasses
Ability: Supreme Overlord
Tera Type: Flying
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Iron Head
- Sucker Punch
- Kowtow Cleave
- Swords Dance

Kingambit. What else needs to be said? The thing hits hard as can be and tera flying lets it skate around its 4x fighting weakness. Black Glasses lets sucker punch be even more threatening and SD for setup if I get the chance. Kowtow Cleave and Iron Head for normal stab against neutral or other mons.

Skeledirge @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Unaware
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpA / 248 SpD / 4 Spe
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Torch Song
- Will-O-Wisp
- Hex
- Slack Off

The dirge. Absolute unit. Standard Defensive Unaware skeledirge. It's tried and true and my primary Volcarona and IV Counter. 4 Speed investment is to just outspeed other skeledirges. The moveset is extremely normal. Torch Song for the clean +1 hits and Wow+Hex for obvious reasons. Slack off as a recovery option and Fairy Tera Type for defense.

Now, for the Crown Jewel of the team HAHAHA GET IT HAHA BECAUSE TING LU HAS A CROWN HAHA ISN'T THAT HILARIOUS LMAO HAHAHAHA SO FUNNY

Ting-Lu @ Choice Band
Ability: Vessel of Ruin
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Throat Chop
- Zen Headbutt
- Earthquake
- Heavy Slam

Now, Ting-Lu is a premier spdef wall, giving it a band is flat out idiotic but its funny. I would 100% be down to change it but its just funny. Choice Band Ting-Lu kills. Here are some relevant calcs.
252+ Atk Choice Band Ting-Lu Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Gholdengo: 356-422 (94.1 - 111.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ Atk Choice Band Ting-Lu Zen Headbutt vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Great Tusk: 152-180 (35 - 41.4%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Choice Band Ting-Lu Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Garganacl: 380-450 (94 - 111.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ Atk Choice Band Ting-Lu Throat Chop vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Dragapult: 486-572 (153.3 - 180.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO Admittedly this isn't really hard pult is really frail
252+ Atk Choice Band Ting-Lu Throat Chop vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Dragonite: 199-235 (61.6 - 72.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ Atk Choice Band Ting-Lu Heavy Slam (120 BP) vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Iron Valiant: 416-490 (143.9 - 169.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ Atk Choice Band Ting-Lu Earthquake vs. 112 HP / 0 Def Kingambit: 408-482 (110.5 - 130.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO
its pretty funny.

Here's an importable thanks for reading

Hello there! I love the concept for this team, since darkspam is really strong this meta imo. However, I do see some problems with a lot of this team. Talonflame and alolamola, while they both have their niches, are probably only good on dedicated stall teams. They do not bring much utility to your team. Secondly, having three dark types on your team isn’t amazing, you probably don’t want more than 2. Finally, in general, your team doesn’t have much synergy or direction, since ting-Lu and kingambit share a very similar role, talonflame and alolamola don’t fit in general, and skeledirge just seems slapped on, if you will. I would suggest looking at the samples team page here: https://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/sv-ou-sample-teams.3712513/ to get a better understanding of how different team work, and to understand the meta. Play some of these teams, and reevaluate this one after a couple of days. Have a nice day!

i kinda just made this team at like 3 in the morning half asleep i didn't care to really focus 100% on a good team lol

I don't see much need for two defensive fire types, you could maybe replace skele with clod? It still counters volc and valiant, but gives you more type diversity and hazard options.
