OU Sand Storm Team by Tangelo
Introduction

It's been sometime since I made an RMT and my classes are starting tomorrow, so I though I'd get my team rated before I run out of to much time. So this is my vague attempt at a non-abusive Sand Storm team, using all but the common Sand Storm abusers. This means no Excadrill, no Landorus, nothing like that. I have no ladder achievements or the like, but this team has been pretty successful whenever I played with it. I believe I'm winning 80%~ of my matches. In all honesty, I was pretty reluctant to post it.

Without further adieu...

The Team

151.png
@ Leftovers
Trait: Synchronize
EVs: 252 HP / 220 Def / 36 Spd
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Will-O-Wisp
- Taunt
- Softboiled
- Ice Beam

Probably the most important member of this team, Mew stops most Physical threats, only halting in the face of a Guts user, who my other members handle fine. To put Mew's Physical bulk into perspective, a +2 X-Scissors from Excadrill doesn't OHKO and so I can live the hit and Burn it (though the accuracy is shaky). Mew is also my general switch in to Gliscor, which is why I have Ice Beam. It can stop all Gliscor sets, from Swords Dance to Support. I also check CB Salamence and (to an extent) CB Haxorus. Another thing people always forget when they see Mew is its supposedly useless ability. Synchronize has it's uses. It's especially helpful in the lead spot for Thundurus' that try to Thunder Wave me, but also cripple themselves. I can switch into Pokemon that try to Burn Tyranitar or Terrakion to give them a taste of there own medicine. This is going to be a static member of my team, so don't try and change it. If it isn't broken, don't fix it.

Now to explain the moveset and EV's. The moveset is the standard support Mew, with a twist in Ice Beam. Ice Beam is used over the standard Psychic or Seismic Toss because this team has trouble taking down Gliscor. Will-o-Wisp cripples the majority of Physical attacks, and Taunt stops Baton Pass and Set Up dead in its tracks. Softboiled is a reliable recovery move and is just cooler then Roost. The EV's are also standard, with the exception of 4 more Speed EV's to beat other Mew (though they are pretty uncommon). Max HP along with 220 Def give enough bulk to continuously switch into Physical assaults. Mew is the spine of my team, and should not be taken lightly.

(M) @ Lum Berry
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Crunch
- Stone Edge
- Fire Punch

An extremely underrated set. That's helpful. I don't play DD TTar the way I would a normal Setup sweeper. I usually try to bluff a Band or Scarf with Lum Berry up until mid-game when I know their team and take out anything that walls me. The majority of teams don't know how to handle a +1/+1 Tyranitar with a weakened defensive core. The only issue is that I have to sacrifice some bulk for power. Without another Special pivot, I leave Gastrodon taking the majority of powerful special hits from the likes of Thundurus and Starmie (though Gastrodon walls both pretty well). Tyranitar usually has a lot of options to come in and set up since it obviously causes a lot of switches. Offensive synergy-wise, Terrakion and Tyranitar share similar counters in Gliscor and Skarmory. Terrakion takes care of the former while Tyranitar can hurt the latter. Worse comes to worse, I Taunt it with Mew. Tyranitar also buffs up Terrakion's modest SpD stat, meaning I can take a weaker Special hit and boost up. Tyranitar is most helpful because of Sand Stream in this weather plagued metagame.

The moveset and EV's are standard sweeper status. Dragon Dance is the boosting move of choice (to bad he doesn't get Swords Dance). Crunch and Stone Edge provide nice coverage and decent STAB, and combined with Fire Punch, take down common Physical walls. The EV's are as simple as they get. 252 Attack and Speed achieve the biggest boost from Dragon Dance, but I'm considering a little bit in SpD to help combat Lati@s as friends. A Jolly Nature is used over Adamant because Adamant would be overkill and I could use some more Speed.

I used to run a CB set with Pursuit / Stone Edge / Focus Punch / Fire Punch, and it was pretty effective, but I think DD TTar achieves my goal better. Oh, you might also be thinking, "Focus Punch on a CB set? WTF??!1?", but don't knock it 'till you try it. Not to brag, but I think I do a pretty good job predicting, and Focus Punch is a buffed version of Superpower that lets me play mind games. Some people keep there Pokemon in when I switched in TTar because they were afraid of me firing of an unprotected Focus Punch.

653.png
@ Rock Gem
Trait: Justified
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Rock Polish
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge

I've dabbled with Rock Gem Terrakion before and used it with decent success. He makes an appearance again, this time taking out Tyranitar and it's own counters such as Gliscor and Skarmory. A +2 Rock Gem Stone Edge OHKO's Skarmory, Gliscor, and Slowbro with Stealth Rock taken into account. Occasionally, I won't even need the Gem since I can switch into a Dark-type attack aimed at Mew. The Double Dance set is standard for a reason. It functions against both Stall and Offense teams. By setting up a Rock Polish on a frail offensive team, you can proceed to severely damage the opponents team. If you manage to get a Swords Dance, you can 2HKO the majority of threats and OHKO Skarmory when it tries to phaze you out. If Skarmory switches in, I won't even need to use Rock Gem. If I manage to get +2/+2, you can say GG. Other then that small difference, it's pretty much standard.

Moveset and EV's are dead standard. Rock Polish and Swords Dance form Terrakion's "Double Dance" set. 2 terrific STAB's in Rock and Fighting are shown in Close Combat and Stone Edge. The EV's are really standard, with 252 Attack for maximum damage output and max Speed to abuse it's awkward base Speed. The sheer power of Terrakion is enough to tear most teams apart, offensive and defensive alike.

472.png
(M) @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Poison Heal
EVs: 244 HP / 176 Def / 88 Spd
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Taunt
- Protect
- Ice Fang
- Earthquake

Gliscor, along with Gastrodon and Heatran, form my defensive pivot. Gliscor takes the Physical and status aimed at Gastrodon and Heatran, while they take the Special Water and Fire hits, respectively. The moveset is different then your standard set with Toxic or Facade. Gliscor is my main check to the majority of Physical threats like Conkeldurr and Heracross. In fact, without Gliscor, they would pretty much steamroll my team if played right. The reason I have Taunt on here is to stop Ferrothorn and friends from setting up on me, and Protect is to stall for Poison Heal. If not Mew or Tyranitar, I'm going to lead with this guy because of potential status leads. Gliscor checks many threats that would otherwise be hazardous to this team.

Like the majority of my other members, the set is pretty standard other then whatever I mentioned previously. Taunt stops things that try to set up on me while Protect stalls for recovery and sometimes Mew or Gastrodon's status damage. Ice Fang is used over Facade to solve my opposing Gliscor problem and to dent Salamence and Dragonite (mainly). Earthquake is a strong STAB attack. The EV's give maximum Poison Heal recovery with more Speed then the standard support Gliscor. Sometimes I wish I went Sand Veil so I could abuse Roost to get rid of my 4x Ice weakness, but I still haven't found a big enough reason to switch. Poison Heal has saved me to many times when stalling for Sandstorm + Status damage.

423.png
(M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Storm Drain
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 SDef
Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd)
- Ice Beam
- Earthquake
- Recover
- Toxic

Gastrodon is an integral part of my defensive pivot, taking otherwise dangerous Water and Ice attacks for the rest of the team. Without Gastrodon, Rain would also give this team trouble. Gastrodon tanks hits from Special giants like Thundurus and Starmie (in fact, it walls Starmie w/o Grass Knot). Really any Water-type attacker could single-handily dismantle my team if played well. That should explain why Gastrodon is revealed in almost every match early game. I run Ice Beam over Scald because I lack a surefire way to check Thundurus. I've considered going Surf, though, since Toxic is really all the status I need. Without the defensive presence of my trust Rain counter, my team would fall to the hands of Water-type attacks. The bread-and-butter Gastrodon moveset. Ice Beam for dealing with Thundurus. Earthquake hits harder then Earth Power on Heatran and Tentacruel (though I'd switch on Tentacruel). Recover adds to the longevity and annoyance factor of Gastrodon while Toxic is nice to take out Quagsire and other things that would wall me otherwise.

485.png
(M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Lava Plume
- Protect
- Roar
- Stealth Rock

Specially Defensive Heatran is becoming more and more common, and for good reason. He along with Gastrodon and Gliscor form my defensive pivot that take on a myriad of threats. Heatran covers what the other don't; strong Fire attacks and another, less common, weather: Sun. As long as Heatran doesn't fall asleep, he combats the otherwise deadly Volcarona (without HP Ground) who could take out this team. The way he takes her out is a combination of Stealth Rocks and Roar. Previously I had HP Rock, but changed since Roar turned out to be the better option. He is also the only one with room for the move since Gliscor can't learn it with Poison Heal. The defensive prowess of Heatran is much appreciated. Standard SpD Heatran. Lava Plume Burns any Physical threat that wants to switch in. Protect in conjunction with Gliscor stall out Burn, Toxic, Life Orb, or Sand Storm damage. I can usually switch decently and KO something threatening. It's also nice to play mind games with the opponent to mess with their decision making skills. Roar because this is my Volcarona counter, and if I see it in the preview I keep Heatran alive at all costs. Stealth Rock is something every team should consider having and was put on Heatran because nothing else had a move slot for it.

Conclusion

It was pretty fun to play with and I'll still be using it, just a lot less now that school is beginning. I hope you all enjoyed my RMT, so rate, steal, whatever. For those doubting the effectiveness of the team read/watch this battle:

Offensive Threats
Breloom - TechniLoom is pretty annoying. It takes a little prediction to get Mew in on a Mach Punch but once that happens (if I have something asleep already), I can take a hit and burn it.
Conkeldurr - Gliscor walls Conkeldurr pretty well.
Darmanitan - Usually seen Choiced on a Sun team, I can go to Heatran for Flare Blitz's and Gliscor for Superpower's.
Deoxys-S - I lead with Tyranitar and Crunch to let SS finish it off.

Dragonite - Mew can take a hit and retaliate with Ice Beam if Stealth Rocks are down. Terrakion can outspeed and KO with Stone Edge. Gliscor can Ice Fang while tanking an Outrage. If it's CB I can bait an Earthquake and switch to Gliscor. ParaShuffler is annoying but most of my Pokes can take Paralysis at least once.
Empoleon - Haven't really seen one of these yet, but I'm sure Terrakion can deal with it.
Espeon - Espeon is setup fodder for Tyranitar if it doesn't have HP Fighting, and Heatran walls it even if it does.
Excadrill - Mew can take a +2 X-Scissors and Burn back. Gliscor walls.
Gengar - Gastrodon walls it pretty well. Doesn't even take much from Focus Blast.
Gyarados - ResTalk Phazer can't really do anything to my team, but if Toxic Spikes are in play it gets annoying. Dragon Dance doesn't like getting burned by Mew, and if it has Lum Berry, I can switch to Gastrodon for the Waterfall, Gliscor on the Earthquake, use Protect, and play a few mind games.
Haxorus - It's a threat, alright. Dragon Dance is a problem for this team, but I can usually play around it. CB is easier to deal with. I can bait the Earthquake with Heatran and Ice Fang with Gliscor.
Heatran - Mind games with Heatran and Gliscor for fun, but when I'm serious I'll CC with Terrakion. Gliscor can outspeed and KO with Earthquake.
Heracross - Heracross gets completely dominated by Gliscor.
Hydreigon - Scarf sets I can bait a DM and switch to Heatran, or bait a Surf and switch to Gastrodon. LO and Specs sets get outsped and KOed by Terrakion.
Infernape - Physical gets walled by Gliscor. NP gets walled by Heatran or Gastrodon. Mixed is annoying but I can bait an Overheat and switch to Heatran then switch to Gliscor for the CC. -1 defence gets KO'd by Terrakion.
Jirachi - Parahax are parahax. Support gets Taunted by anything that can Taunt. Gliscor forces it out if it isn't mixed.
Jolteon - Gastrodon walls it completely.
Kingdra - Special versions are walled by Gastrodon while Physical versions are walled by Mew. Choice versions are scouted by Protect.
Kyurem - Gastrodon checks it nicely.
Landorus - Gliscor walls it.
Latios - Specs Draco Meteor is walled by Heatran while LO + 3 attacks takes a little bit of smart switching.
Lilligant - Get some sleep fodder and wall it with Heatran.
Lucario - Depending on what it runs, Gliscor or Mew wall it. Terrakion comes in on Crunch and KO's with CC.
Machamp - Gliscor walls it, but Confusion hax isn't in my hands.
Magnezone - Can't do anything, since the only thing it traps is Heatran. Why would you switch in on Heatran?
Mamoswine - Mew burns it. CB versions are easier to get around with Protect.
Metagross - Not very common anymore. Gliscor and Heatran can play games with it, burn it with Mew, revenge it if it's at low enough health with Terrakion.
Mienshao - As a lead, Mew takes the Fake Out, can switch to Heatran or Gliscor on the U-Turn and just scout there counters. Protect on Heatran is fun.
Reuniclus - I play around with a combination of Tyranitar and Gliscor to get the mind games started, and just play around it from there.
Roserade - Heatran if I have someone sleeping already.
Salamence - Can be a problem, but is handled OK. Heatran can take a DM and then I can go to Gliscor on the EQ.
Sawsbuck - Tyranitar summons weather. Heatran + Protect + Jump Kick is funny.
Scizor - Heatran and Gliscor take it. Mew can burn it even at 20%~ health.
Scrafty - Gangster gets KOed by Terrakion.
Shaymin - Heatran walls it.
Sigilyph - Tyranitar actually walls something. Stored Power is usually the only attack on this. Heatran walls it.
Starmie - Gastrodon walls it.
Terrakion - Gliscor walls it. Period.
Thundurus - Gastrodon says "Hi" to non-Grass Knot versions, and Heatran says "Hello" to everything else.
Tornadus - Heatran walls it decently.
Tyranitar - Gliscor walls anything without Ice Punch and Terrakion KO's with CC.
Venusaur - Synchronize Mew for the lol.
Victini - Heatran walls CB forever.
Virizion - Can be an issue. CM gets Manhandled by Heatran (I think it can take a Focus Miss) and SD gets walled by Gliscor.
Volcarona -Volcarona is annoying. If Heatran is low on health or they have HP Ground, I can't counter it. This makes me want to consider Air Balloon on Heatran. If I get Heatran on the first boost, though, I stand a chance. This is why Stealth Rocks MUST be on the field at all times.
Weavile - Heatran walls non-Low Kick versions, I can switch into a Dark attack and get a boost with Terrakion. Mew takes a hit and burns.

Defensive Threats
Blissey - Can set up on it with Terrakion or Tyranitar.
Bronzong - Close Combat from Terrakion, Crunch / Fire Punch from Tyranitar.
Celebi - Tyranitar scares it out and sets up. Nasty Plot set can be annoying, but ones without Earth Power are walled by Heatran. Ones with Earth Power usually don't carry Recover so I can play around it for LO recoil and SS damage and KO with Terrakion.
Chansey -See Blissey.
Dusclops - Taunt with Mew, Toxic with Gastrodon, Crunch with Tyranitar (usually won't because of Burn).
Ferrothorn - Close Combat from Terrakion OHKO's while Fire Punch from Tyranitar also KO's.
Forretress - Forry doesn't like Taunt + Burn from Mew, or just Taunt in general from Gliscor.
Gliscor - There's a reason Ice Beam is on Mew.
Hippowdon - Gliscor can Taunt + Wall it.
Jellicent - Tyranitar sets up at least 1 dance with Lum Berry.
Latias - CM versions are KO'd by Terrakion and Tyranitar.
[s]Murkrow[/s] - lol.
Ninetales - Defensive Variants have nothing to do when Tyranitar sets up on it with Lum Berry blocking the Burn. Offensive are walled by Heatran.
Politoed - Rain can be annoying, but what better counter then my own weather? Gastrodon likes walling offensive versions, but defensive variants take some prediction.
Porygon2 - Close Combat from Terrakion.
Rotom-W - Choice sets can't do anything to Gastrodon (but Trick is dangerous). Defensive ones are completely walled by Gastrodon, not even having to worry about Trick.
Skarmory - Taunt stops it cold. Burn to break Sturdy for a free Tyranitar set up until Taunt ends.
Snorlax - Can't take Close Combat from Terrakion.
Suicune - Good ole' Suicune isn't seen much anymore. CroCune is walled by Gastrodon, as are all the other sets.

Tentacruel - Taunt + Gastrodon forces a switch.
Vaporeon - See Tentacruel.
Whimsicott - The most annoying troll Pokemon in the game. Period. Taunt on the Sub or Leech Seed, and switch to set up.
Xatu - See Espeon.
Zapdos - It's pretty much walled by Gastrodon.

Hey.

This is an extremely solid team. So good job on that. The only thing that I can think of that would give you trouble is an Offensive Trick Room Reuniclus. While it can't OHKO every member of your team, it can do massive damage to everything and open you up for sweepers later in the game. So to fix this, I recommend a Scizor over Terrakion. I like your Terrakion set, but overall Scizor helps your team a lot more than Terrakion. Life Orb Latios will really hurt, since your only resist to it's Draco Meteor is Heatran. Gastrodon can try to slow it down, but you probably want to get rid of it immediately so it doesn't wear your team down with switches. A CB set would work pretty well on Scizor for it's ability to take out the OTR Reuniclus, and offensive Lati@s that trouble you.

good luck

Hey, thanks for the rate. The issue I have with Scizor is it gives Volcarona a free switch in on Bullet Punch, and if it runs HP Ground then it's GG. About the Dragon resist, I find that 1 is sufficient enough to tank hits. In all honesty though, I'm considering putting more EV's into SpD and HP on Tyranitar to tank hits from Latios and Pursuit. Maybe a CB or Scarf set (I used to use CB but switched over to DD). Reuniclus can be an issue, but I rarely let it setup. Even if it does set up I can wall it well with Gastrodon and Heatran.

Hey there. Really cool and solid team.

On Gastrodon, run a Sassy nature and run Earthquake over Earth Power. Earthquake will do much more damage to pokemon like Tentacruel and Jirachi, and will allow Gastrodon to act as a much better secondary counter to Volcarona. Also, run Ice Beam over Scald; Scald won't benefit you as much, whereas Ice Beam is necessary in order to 2HKO Thundurus, who otherwise sweeps your team. It also helps with pokemon such as Tornadus and can destroy dragons.

If you run Earthquake on Gastrodon, Hidden Power Rock is not necessary. Run Roar in it's place, as it will allow Heatran to phaze out set up attackers and also rack up Stealth Rock damage. Heatran can still ruin Volcarona's plans with Roar, so it can still serve as a solid counter.

On Gliscor, I would run Swords Dance over Protect. The extra Poison Heal recovery really isn't as big of a deal as you may think. It is chosen over Protect instead of Taunt because you do not have a rapid spinner, and Taunt helps shut down pokemon such as Forretress. Swords Dance turns Gliscor into a menace for stall teams to face,, being able to utterly destroy them once pokemon such as Quagsire and Tangrowth are gone. It can also be a very prominent late game threat for any team to face.

Finally, run 4 more speed EVs on Mew (take them out of Defense) in order to outspeed standard Nasty Plot Celebi (even though everyone speed creeps nowadays, but it can win you the game against people that don't, and it is definitely more useful than the extra defense point.

Overall, very solid team. Good luck.

Did you add in a +1 from Storm Drain? If I have +1 I'm pretty sure I deal more damage then EQ, but more damage on Volcarona and Tentacruel seems nice, I'll try it! If I do run EQ though, I think I'll keep HP Rock as extra insurance. I never really need Roar since the only SpA that isn't handled is Volcarona and Physical attackers, who would KO Heatran either way. Either way, I'll try that too.

I think I'm going to keep Protect on Gliscor; It helps in playing mind games and rattles the opponent. Swords Dance, IMO, is pointless for Gliscor on this team since anything I'm trying to deal with can be KOed without a boost. Protect also helps against Choice Pokes.

Lol 4 Speed EV's I had no idea about. Changed.

Thanks for the rate :D

Nice team bro(: There are a couple changes though.

First off, replace the Rock Gem on Terrakion with a Life Orb, it's just a better item.

Also, replace HP Rock with Roar on Tran. Volcarona may not take much damage after multiple QD boosts, and its better to Roar it off and rack up hazard damage.

GL

hey man its a really nice team you have here so well done.

Firstly im not really sure what tier you use this team on. Ludicolo with Swift Swim is banned on the smogon server. Also in your battle log, Genosect appears, this this a DW team?

Anyway, I can see you having a little bit of trouble with some fast sweepers. Landlos is a problem, Mew is really the only thing that can switch in and it takes a fair bit from a Sand Force boosted EQ. In addition, most run HP Ice so Gliscor is not a safe bet either. CM Virizion also looks dangerous as it OHKOs Heatran with Focus Blast leaving you to hope you win the Speed Tie with Terrakion in order to beat it.

Rain teams (especially Rain stall I guess) are also a slight threat, mostly those running a bulky Politoed as they can cripple Gastrodon with Toxic, giving them a much easier time against your team.

To fix these problems I have a suggestion to make.

First, I suggest running an offensive Latios with Psyshock over Mew. I know you emphasised that you wanted to keep Mew however it seems to have overlapping coverage with Gliscor, and Gliscor is needed to help shrug off assaults from Conkeldurr.
Here is the set

Latios @ LO
4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid
-Draco Meteor
-Surf
-HP Fire
-Psyshock

Latios patchs up the Virizion weakness by OHKOing with Psyshock and still revenging Landorus, Gliscor, and opposing Dragons. In addition, it gives you a secondary "rain check" as Latios can switch into random water attacks if for whatever reason Gastrodon is not a safe enough switch. Latios also helps weaken pokemon such as Skarmory which can be a hassle to your own Tyranitar, as well as weakening your opponents team enough for Terrakion or Tyranitar to grab a late game sweep.

Rock Gem Terrakion is there to KO Tyranitar's switch ins, something LO won't achieve. I can also bluff a scarf or band, which has come in handy on many occasions.

Currently I'm testing Roar and will probable change over.

Haha, sorry about that. The battle was on PBC and I usually play on there so my bad.

So I acknoledge that if Landorus runs HP Ice it becomes and issuebut the majority I've faced are Sub RP or SD, but if I find on with HP Ice I can switch around to get the LO Recoil up and revenge it.

Virizion is a pain now that I think about it, but I've never been swept by it, so I must be doing something right. I'll test out Latios in place of Mew, so idk.

Thanks guys!

Hi

This is a solid team and I don't have any major suggestions.

If you really fear Hidden Power [Ground] Volcarona you could try out Air Balloon over Rock Gem on Terrakion. You'll resist Volcarona's other moves and Stone Edge is a OHKO no matter what. You'll loose out on OHKO'ing Gliscor at +2 but the Air Balloon allows you to go to +4 which deals with Gliscor too. Heatran doesn't really need Hidden Power [Rock] solely for Volcarona. Roar can be used instead and is just as effective at taking out the big moth while it also helps you against pokes a CM Latias whenever they get to much stat boosts in. Roar will also help against Baton Pass team.

Since you're still quite weak to Thunderus I suggest Ice Beam on Gastrodon instead of Earth Power. Ice Beam also has the potential to deal a good amount of damage to Nasty Plot Celebi who can be a problem for your team as well. The ones with Earth Power will lack Recover so the higher damage output is appreciated. The ones without Earth Power (will have Recover and) are dealt with by Heatran.

And a last nitpick, on Gliscor try an EV spread of 244 HP / 176 Def / 88 Spe which will provide you with maximum Poison Heal recovery and the ability to outspeed opposing versions. You also have a solid stall breaker in Mew so if you want to go for a more offensive variant you could try out Sword Dance over Taunt. With Terrakion and Tyranitar putting alot of pressure on opposing walls, Gliscor has a decent shot at late game sweeping as well.

Hope these suggestions helped and good luck with the team!

Hey, thanks for the indepth rate!

Their are 2 reasons I don't use Air Balloon: It makes Justified obsolete, and it can't take out Skarmory. Even if I hit it with +2 Stone Edge it won't KO without the Rock Gem. Justified is an ability I try to use to the fullest, and limiting what I can do with Air Balloon isn't something I want. On Heatran, I'm still playing with Roar as suggested by previous raters, and I'm probably going to switch. For Gastrodon, I'm actually considering Ice Beam over Scald and EQ over Earth Power, so we'll see what happens. Thanks for the more efficient EV's! I'll try SD but I kind of like having 2 Taunters on my team because I totally dispise Whimsicott.

Hey Tangelo, excellent team that you have here. I really think that you could use an extra dragon resist on this team though. As you stated, Haxorus has to the potential be a massive problem to this team because Heatran is your only dragon resist and it isn't exactly the most solid one at that. Skarmory would work excellently on this team over Gliscor for various reason. Although Gliscor is one of the best fighting resistances in ou, Skarmory can sponge many fighting type attacks from the likes of Conkeldurr and Terrakion as well. Not only that, but Skarmory is that extra dragon resist that you really need making your team's problem with dragon type attacks a bit easier to handle. The spikes support that Skarmory provides is also excellent for Mew and Terrakion as they both force quite a few switches and can rack up spikes damage easily. Impish, a moveset of spikes / roost / brave bird / whirlwind, and a spread of 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 Spe with a shed shell will work really well for you.

Tyranitar would do really well running the choice band variant again. Choice band stone edge lures in and 2HKOs some of Terrakion's most common switch ins such as Gliscor and Skarmory which will be fantastic support for a sweep with it later in the match. Dragon dance Tyranitar really is not that great in the metagame as with all the powerful fighting priority and faster threats running around, it really will not benefit this team much at all. Tyranitar could work effectively with a spread of 136 HP / 252 Atk / 120 Spe, Adamant, and a set of crunch / pursuit / superpower / stone edge so that you can outrun Skarmory and Jellicent. At this point, Terrakion should really run air balloon or life orb over rock gem. If you decide to test choice band Tyranitar again, there is really no point in running rock gem in order to ko Tyranitar's switch ins as you will easily 2HKO with your respective attacks. This makes it so that with Tyranitar's support, Terrakion will clean up much easier later in the match. gl.

Air Balloon is better than leftovers on heatran for a temporary ground immunity ,which is not negligible for his many counters with earthquake .

A lot of things can flat out 6-0 you. After a Dragon Dance Scrafty wins. After a Nasty Plot Thundurus will probably win (Gastrodon is the shadiest possible counter). After a Dragon Dance Haxorus is gonna smack your team around, especially since your only Steel-type can't do a thing to it.

To fix your Thundurus weakness, I'd recommend using Scarf Tyranitar. DD Tyranitar is cool (and 6-0s your team currently!), but you could make use of ScarfTar's ability to beat Thundurus. Tornadus is actually a problem too, so ScarfTar will help in that department. I think Skarmory over Gliscor is also a good idea because you're so incredibly weak to Scrafty. Even though this opens you up to Fighting types, Skarmory has good enough Defense to beat most of them, and Mew tends to stay alive longer. Skarmory will also help against Haxorus, just make sure to make it female. Spikes would also fit well to facilitate a Terrakion sweep, since it weakens stuff that can eat a +2 Stone Edge, like Mew.

Shout outs to Rewer, Bluewind, PK Gaming, and am.
