With a blistering base 70 speed and a gargantuam bulk of 78/75/100 it's no wonder many people pick rowlet as their starter over the inferior litten and popplio. Decidueye can outspeed and take many hits from threats like knock off aipom, crunch carvahna, and brave bird doduo. It's no slouch offensively either with it's massive 107 attack and 100 special attack and it's massive movepool consisting of shadow claw, leaf blade, energy ball, giga drain, sucker punch, spirit shackle, shadow ball, acrobatics, brave bird and u-turn, along with both nasty plot and swords dance means it can function as an amazing sweeper in the ou tier. It's fantastic typing gives it resistance to common types such as grass, water, ground and electric, while having very few uncommon weaknesses, those being Dark, Fire, Flying, Ghost and ice. With it's access to baton pass, defog and roost it can function as a great pivot and support pokemon being able to fit in on many teams that need one of it's many niches. All in all decidueye is an amazingly versatile and threatening pokemon to the ou metagame and you must be very prepared for it or expect to lose.

Baton pass lets it pivot and pass it's boosts to another pokemon if for some reason you don't want to use the best pokemon in the game. Swords dance and nasty plot takeup the 3rd slot for sweeping power, after a simgle sd or np decidueye reaches dangerous offensive levels, allowing it to sweep the whole tier. substitute is the preffered last slot to keep it frm neing statused by prankster mons because that's the only way dec can lose, prankster and hax. a second coverage move also works if you're not scared of the cowardly status users. Roost can aslo work if you somehow get haxed and lose hp.
